Newegg is the best for PC builds, I've done the Windows, OSX and Linux thing in the past. Nowadays I just prefer simplicity so I paid the mac tax and rock a 2011 Mac Mini. It is by far the best computer I have ever had. Instead of tinkering with a loud, clumsy homemade PC I have a small, sleek, quiet machine that does what I want.
In Mountain Lion Safari actually kicks ass. I use iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and the iWork suite, occasionally I'll fire up Photoshop. Address book, Mail etc. is all synced via iCloud to my iPhone and iPad. For productivity I use the Mint app to glance at personal and business finances and the Base CRM app to see what's going on with my Steele Concept dealers. For fun my media is hosted remotely on a home server, so I load up iTunes for music or Plex (Absolutely amazing HTPC app) to watch movies. I use my iPhone as a remote to control Plex.
All in all it's the complete package. It would have been cool if it were $300 cheaper and included an SSD but shit, it's nice and it makes me happy having a tiny box that gets out of the way. Lol, I see I have typed a lot but I'm very passionate about technology.
In designing the Steele Concept a lot of inspiration was gleaned from postmodern architecture and industrial design with computers.
