A couple of comments:
The heating element (for the sake of this conversation) on the Revolution should be thought of like a high quality cast iron frying pan.
Now when you first start using the frying pan it is freshly forged, clean metal, when it is heated you can smell, and taste the "new metal" in the food. Despite this, cast iron pans, grills, griddles, etc. are considered the Gold Standard in terms of cook surfaces that do not impart flavor to the food. The process of the new metal maturing is called "seasoning" by some.
The Revolution heating core undergoes the same process. Much like the frying pan, it is built to perform for the long term, and to settle in to having consistent and reliable performance and flavor.
A few tricks that will help:
After your initial break in period of using the Revolution, give it a good cleaning. Soak in IPA for 5-10 minutes. Then boil for 5-10 minutes. Rinsing under warm water (when it is cooled down enough to touch) after the boil. A tooth brush can be used to loosen anything stubborn, rinse any loosened debris out of the unit under warm water.
Then let your revolution dry overnight. Or with the mouthpiece removed, place it in a oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes (maybe less if you have blown out some of the remaining water).
Now, with a clean and dry Revolution and fresh batteries, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the Revolution for 20 seconds (the Revoltuon is NOT loaded) this is a dry burn.
2. Let cool for a minute (maybe less)
3. Turn on the Revolution for 20 seconds (the Revoltuon is NOT loaded) this is a dry burn.
4. Let cool for a minute (maybe less)
Repeat for 5-10 cycles. This should serve to restore your Revolution to prime condition and should conclude the break in period of the Revolution.
The Revolution components are inert and built to operate at temperatures that exceed the operating temperature of the device, we specifically use a wire that should not/will not impart any flavor characteristics into the vapor once it has broken in. It is the act that we know exactly, to the validated material specifications what the Revolution is made from, that we have so much confidence that the Revolution will to contribute flavor to your vapor. Once the wire settles down and is broken in, the only other materials are nickel plated (a medial device grade finish that hardens with heat exposure) and completely inert medical device grade porous and structural ceramics (so pure they are used in medical implants!).
Please try the tips suggested and let me know if it works. The Revoltuon should give you consistent and enjoyable vapor and flavor (dependent on the material) and if it is not let us know. We will take care of you.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
