Discontinued ThermoVape Evolution

My new TV Evo LV arrived yesterday and I took it for a spin last night.

First impression is good. It definitely vaporizes nicely. Not as much visible vapor as I had hoped, but as long as I can feel it who cares about seeing vapor.

I'm using it on a 3.7v 18650 ecig mod and I have to warm it up a little longer than I expected before taking a hit, but that's a small complaint considering the size and ease of use.

I'll report back after I've broken it in a little more, but so far, so good. :D

Cool. I think you're having the common experience for most of us, fair to good performance at first but not what was expected/hoped for. I think it's also fair to say most if not all of us found things improved a fair bit as we got up to speed with it. I predict it's going to get better and better for you the more you fiddle with it until you too are most satisfied with your purchase.

Best wishes.

I've been using the screen at the top of my load mod, instead of using a domed shaped one, I just cut one to be the same size as the ID of the bowl, and set it in on top of my load, give it a light press down, but not enough to pack it. Works great, and keeps my cap clean for sure. I've been getting solid rips from it every time.

Very common experience for the first time user. After a bowl you feel medicated but think, hey, why did I not see more visible vapor like you are use to from other vapes. This can be perplexing until you get use to the idea of less visible vapor but same medicating feeling compared to vapes you have used in the past.

Under the right light conditions you can see that there is plenty of visible vapor being produced. When I sat in front of my laptop with every possible light source off except the glow of the screen, I could see that hit after hit had plenty of visible vapor.

All in all it is a handy vape for on the go or home use that can pack an extra punch with a little kief/bubble/wax in between your favorite herb.

Boy, it's that just about it. Brain sending the same message over and over again, "Eyes, check again for vapor....it's just got to be out there...".

Only possible answer is Evolution makes you blind and well as stupid..... Use with care.

lol, I cannot afford either of those outcomes at this point of my life, especially the stupid... Perhaps it is better I hit it with my eyes closed, back to the lab for more testing.

It's like they teach you in night vision, close one eye! Works for me.

This also supports the theory that pirates were early habitual users.

You know the stupid part seems to wear off after a bit (not very common in life). This can be a good thing, but can also call for finding the vape again. And again.

Damn, that pirate line made me coughing up a lung I could not hold back the laughter, last time I read your posts in the middle of a hit.

VAPORIZER22,
Got my Evo today! The second package, with extra batteries and smoothflow, will arrive tomorrow (says today on tracking but not going there again.)

First impression, the herb chamber is larger than I expected. My primary home vape is a CRZ log, so I'm used to small stems, but this chamber is about twice the size of my crz stem, both in depth and diameter. So that was a nice surprise! It feels nice and solid in the hand and is the perfect size for concealing in the hand. I bought this vape specifically for a vape I could use at concerts and other public events like that, and body style it is exactly what I had hoped it would be for that. I can palm this thing and operate it easily, much easier than the MFLB with its awkward battery sticking out to the side. Only the top of the stem sticks out of my fist and being black, it will be easy to hide. Very nice.it

My first and only attempt at vaping was mixed, just like others have reported. I definitely feel the vapor, but the hits are not very satisfying at first. I expect that to get better, and I'm testing this on the battery straight from the package (literally walked in with it a bit ago) and used only a small amount of herbs at first. I learned with my crz, though, that most vapes have a bit of a learning curve. I thought my crz wasn't heating right at first until I figured out how to use it, and now I get monstrous hits from it. The abv did come out nice and brown.

One thing...where exactly is the o-ring supposed ti sit? I want to say in the first groove from the base? It slipped and now I'm not certain, but that seems right.

Oh and someone who is good with working leather or other materials needs to contract to with TV to make a holster for this thing. How cool would it be to have a black leather holster to clip on your belt or waistband?

I also have what I think is a pretty slick idea of how to load this thing on the go. More on that later. Nice to be part of the TV family finally!

Try letting it heat just a few more seconds than you think it needs to hit, then try again... Glad you are having a good time figuring it all out!

**also for the 3.0v Lifepo4 batteries, I have been making a habit of just hitting a few times, then once the batteries start to get warm, I just take them out, let them cool, tossing a couple of fresh ones in, and keep going, then, recharging once cooled down, rather than milking them down to see how many hits I can get per set. I know these say discharging them lower than 2v will damage them, if I remember that correctly. I currently have 6 sets in rotation. They seem to be quickly wearing down, so I don't want to push them any harder than needed. Food for thought...

Here is a pic that Tim posted showing where to put the o ring.

I'm pretty sure 650mah for faster charge time. Just don't have batteries lower than 650mah charging at that setting (as I understand it)

Does it improve the life of the battery to charge more slowly? The charger was preset to 300 mA.
Theoretically, yes, but you may be counting angels on pinheads at some point. ime the best thing you can do to take care of batteries is not to drain them too hard or too far, rotate often, and let cool before recharging.

Don't get hung up on how much vapor you see. Preheat for about 20s then use a nice slow draw. When the vapor starts to get hot on your throat speed up your draw. After the first hit only preheat about 5s.

another thing I just noticed w/the lifepo4 batteries, I have sets sitting, charged and waiting to be used. They have all been charged to green lights, with in the last 24 hours, but I decided to do a test, and took all the supposedly charged batteries, and put them back on the charger, some only stayed red light for a min. or two, then back to green, as I expected, but a couple of the sets stayed red much longer 15-20 mins, even though they were recently charged and just sitting on my desk. I'm not really sure what it all means, but it was what I observed.

Okay, so I have had the T-1 for about six months now and love it. I ordered the evolution for it and it works pretty good but I find myself going back to the T-1. Then I noticed in some of the pictures that have been posted that I am missing a part. It looks like I don't have the Thermovape adapter interface. Do I need this part for optimal performance?
Thanks
P.S. I have been following these threads since they started and have enjoyed everyone's insight.

One more quick question: When charging the 3.7v batt, set charger to 300 mA or 650 mA?

I always charge on the lower Mah setting, its like a trickle charge and your batteries will last longer, the 650mah setting i reserve for the 17670's and larger batteries.

Cheers,

Tim

It is my understanding that the Evolution will work with the Revolution interface or directly with the thermocore interface piece with the thermocore removed, but that these configurations may transfer quite a bit of heat which may make the vaping experience sub-optimal.

Nice to have you as part of the family. This may help with the O-ring positioning question:

EDIT: USER FEEDBACK IS THAT THE GROOVE JUST ABOVE (TO THE READERS LEFT) OF THE GROOVE WHERE IT IS SHOWN BELOW MAY BE/IS BETTER.

Thank you for the support, if you find a leather worker, let us know! That would be pretty cool.

You know, if I do it that way (bottom groove) more often than not it rolls down and blocks the air intake as you put the cover on....it won't draw. I think it was Tim who suggested starting in the groove above that bottom one, which seems to work every time for me.

Edit: As far as the leather worker idea, these guys are a few miles from you. Last time I was in they had a bulletin board that should get some useful responses, they service that type of local craftspersons....... OF

I third this. I moved it a step up and that solved the issue. The other option is to give it a twisting motion as you slowly press it down. It usually works as well. I was confused at first when it blocked the airflow. Once I figured out what was going on, I tried both of those solutions. They each seem to work
