Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Great Scott!
I'm hoping to have my cera back friday or saturday. Got shipping info yesterday. Can't wait to see how it does. Especially the EO cart, but I gotta see how my oil comes out first.

Just realized my everclear hash oil has been on the heat purging for over 24 hours...whoops.

Fell out of love with cera for a while, seemed more trouble than it was worth for hash ..... but tried again on a new batch, and I`m struggling to finish off a single bowl after twice cooling down the mouthpiece, with visible clouds on every exhale. The disparity has got to be in the oil moisture content of hash, with some more vapable than others.

Interesting theory. I'd never given much thought to why, but for sure the concentrate is a major factor in performance, probably the most important one?

Since I don't make it, I tend to try what's available and stock up on what works well. CO2 oils, I've found, generally work very well.

I also think 'the foil test' is an easy and accurate predictor of performance.

My biggest upgrade to the EO ever has been getting rid of that damn stock mouthpiece. Its the weak point in an otherwise great vape. Got some random drip tip that is stainless steel. MUCH better.

Now I just need it back :p

I was talking about solids for the LL, will be taking your advice and stocking up on the new batch that works a treat !

Over the falls, in a barrel
The EL cart is working great. I received that PG juice and it does indeed soak into the ceramic more freely.

I regret that I don't have experience with the old EL cart or other e-cigs to be able to give some comparative opinions. If anybody has any questions they think I might be able to answer, I'm wide open.

I realized tonight that the cart is designed for a different sized o-ring. The red o-rings from my LL cart don't fit; they're too "tall" and don't fit in the slots. Anyone have an idea of what size these new o-rings might be? I'm thinking about getting some silicone versions.

I recieved a thermovape a few days ago and I LOVE it. Everything about it is just great and I have no complaints what so ever. Im about to take the plunge and snag the EVO and REV carts for it as well but was curious if you CERA users would recommend I pick this up as well? I will be using loose leaf about 90% of the time and while Ive researched the T1 and EVO thread front to back I have yet to tackle this cera thread so I dont much about it other than people having to send their carts back for rebuild.

After owning the EO Cera for a while, I loved it. Then I got the Rev Dart and also loved it. Similar design, flavor, and use, but in a smaller package that's able to go on any 510 threaded battery, cool!

Should I pick up a lightly used CERA for 250 shipped? Is that a good price?
Not in my opinion, I would buy new and know what I was getting for 50-65 more. You may need a cart rebuild even on a slightly used EO depending on the materials put inside it. If it also has multiple batteries and charger then you come out with a decent savings but may still have down time waiting for a core rebuild. If I am to sell or give my second Cera handle it will have a rebuilt core so I could be confident the new owner would have something they can use upon receiving.

First time poster, first thanks to all the people who contribute to the wealth of knowledge that is this forum. I'm a new owner of the cera, had it for a couple weeks now. It's a great vaporizer, quality unit.. For the most part at least. It worked fine for the first few days, then just stopped heating up. Sent it in for repair and received it back in working condition. Couple of
days later it stops heating up,again. Really frustrating, I guess I'm just one of the unlucky cera owners. At first I debated with myself about getting a used cera, but decided on a new one. thought I would receive a unit without any bugs or defects, but I guess it happens. Gonna send it back Again an hopefully this Time it's fixed or good. Iv had the mlfb but moved on to the solo. Gave away the solo while waiting for the cera to arrive. Originally bought the cera as a replacement for the solo, but it's just not discreet enough for me to take it with me whenever I go. It is what it is though, a rock solid high quality material mechanical vaporizer. I'm not disappointed with my purchase, but annoyed with my personal experience so far. Customer service is great. The last time it went in for repairs it took about 7 days, shipping to TET and back. On the bright side I'm waiting for the PAX to be delivered to me. Should be here tomorrow so I won't be vaporless at least. Although the quality of vapor may not match the cera's the PAX's aesthetics and discreetness were the reasons for purchase. The cera will still be used at home. LL core.

Sorry to hear you're having troubles, you should.....especially a second time?

What was the problem the first time?

Switches and spring/tail caps are a common problem, did you try the 'ball of aluminum foil test'? Batteries are another common problem, but I assume not a factor here?

hello OF, thanks for the reply. I hope this issue is corrected once and for all, I asked to know the cause of failure the first time, but never received a response. No I have not tried the 'foil test' but I will when I can. Still waiting on the RMA number from TET. This happened today, I was happily vaping, let it cool for a bit because the LL core does get HOT. And then no warm up. If the foil does work that would be great, for now lol. No the batteries are not a factor here. I have one oem battery, 2x Panasonic 1850's and 2x sony vtc4's. None work. Again, I don't regret purchasing. This forum played a big role in my purchase, iv read through FC for about 2 years and just decided to join. Iv seen you in a few other threads OF and again thanks for all your input in this thread and the various others. The cera is a beautiful vape and the vapor quality is the best iv had IMO. I think it was worth it, the solo was getting old. Iv been smoke free for about 2 years and I'm happy to see the vaporizing community thriving.

mod note: Edited to fix broken QUOTE tags.

Maybe this is in the wrong thread? Well honestly I don't have the pax yet. Waiting for it to be delivered, hopefully later on today. If you have time look through the pax thread, you will see it's pros and cons. But if stealth is the biggest factor in your purchase id say go for the pax.

The cera is definitely portable
But I don't see myself vaping with it in public. Unless I had the EO core, which I don't. IT wouldn't be discreet enough for me. It takes about 30 seconds to begin the vapor production and it gets too hot IMO to be walking around with it in your pocket. You also have to learn the technique of drawing to produce clouds.

Iv owned a few different vapes over the past two years and I have to say that the cera beats all of them in terms of vapor quality. Although I don't have the pax in my hands yet I just assume that the vapor quality while good) will not be on the same level as the cera.
Pax is not a true convection vaporizer but, again just look through the different threads.. See what fits your needs.. Different for everyone. Gonna put my thoughts on the pax in the pax thread when I get it. My 2 cents

i did read a little bit in the pax thread... i am owning a cera LL and i am happy with it... but as you mentioned it is not realy stealthy i think... last time i sat in the park girls where loughing about me (maybe i was paranoid) but it really has the shape of a sex toy (by the way i like the design of the cera)... also in videos i have seen that the pax is also producing nice clouds (i know it s hard to tell if the vapour quality is realy that good as in the videos)...and if you go to the club you can fill the oven of the pax (i think it takes more then the cera. last time it was a bit difficult to refill the cera --> ihad to go to the restroom all the time to refill it) so i am now thinking of purchasing one pax for this reason, but there is also the problem that i am from europe and i don t know if it is a good idea, because there could be also problems with gurantee because its only for canada and america...

Pax produces nice clouds and sure is sleek. However, it is constantly heating the material therefore taste is not as good as the cera. Two other issues with it compared to cera are, it has to be cleaned constantly to avoid the heat light issue (not sure if thats still an issue) and the magnetic lid on the bottom can come off if your not careful (happened when i dropped the pax also happened in my pockets a few times (very annoying)

My favorite alternative to the Cera is the FF. Like the pax it has to be cleaned frequently(not to keep it working but it gets really dirty) but produces a great tasting vapor. Another alternative to the pax is the indica vaporizer. Just released and getting good reviews

thank you...
yes i know about themaintenance of the pax... (should be not a big issue)

i also read about the ff but its to bulky and also not realy stealth... i think...
the indica was also a thought... but its relativ new... so maybe there will be still bugs (i dont know) and also its not realy stealh (looking like a big big zippo) but if someone would tell me its perfoming much better then the pax... i would maybe change my opinion...

by the way how much do you fill in your cera... i tried 0,07g to 0,1g (up to 10 draws)... the first draws are really tasty but then its not really tasting as good (rostated maybe would discribe it the best) (i m used to the volcano and it never tastes like that even after the 4rd 5th 6th bag)...

i would be realy interrested how other cera owners use their cera ( how much they load, how fine they grind, how they draw, taste, how much draws...and so on... ) thanks...

The firefly isnt really that bulky. It feel much more comfortable than the cera in my pocket. And its about the same length and only about a .5 inch thicker than the pax. Its not that stealthy though compared to pax...

For cera i usually loaded about 0.2 g, finely ground and packed loosely. And i followed the 3 steps technique you can probably find a few pages back posted by OF...

I dont have my cera anymore, but G just came out with the Nibbler T. Im sure you can guess what the T stands for. He was looking for someone to try it out for a week with a 100$ refundable deposit. Check out the persei thread

yes the 3 steps are gold and i recommend them to all cera users/owners
yeah the nibbler would be really nice ihave to watch out for it...

yeah as i stated i am very happy with my cera... but i also need a vape which is stealthy and i can take every where with me... so if i would buy a ff it would be like a cera...

Just ordered the Pax for my brother in law, the portability and stealth are perfect for him. I was impressed using the Pax but flavor is not its strong point, ease of use is great for sharing it in a group though.

The Cera LL is by far more flavorful once technique is mastered plus it will easily do pressed hash, Kief, and bubble hash. Technique is second nature to me now but I don't even bother trying to use it with other people.

My pax is waiting in my mailbox for me as soon as I get home. My cera is going to be on it's way back to TET to be repaired. I was even sent a 1 day shipping label. Great customer service. True convection>conduction. Pax is gonna be used on the go and the cera is going to be used at home to relax. Cera produces the Best flavor iv had in any vape so far.
