HAPPY 420 Y'ALL!!!

This thing is RIDICULOUS. Went to the Snoop Lion show at the Fillmore last night, and smoked all night with some of the heaviest hitters I've ever met, and it just kept throwing out clouds. 3 LL bowls and one small EO bowl on one battery, the other battery was probably still not even half empty when I put it on the charger back at the hotel.

A bowl lasts dang near forever, and I'm pretty sure I was tossing barely baked ABV out all night (Sorry, ganja gods!!!) because I was refilling it after 20 - 30 (maybe more) hits. I just realized this morning that it never even got to the popcorn taste before I refilled it. My bad? Of course, this may have been affected by the fact that I was letting folks hit it all night who were seeing one for the first time, but it would go around a circle of 5 people at least 3 times, then I would walk through the crowd and hit it for another 20 minutes, just making out with my dildo and feeling like the caterpillar from Alice In Wonderland.

The EO bowl was glycerine based, but the guy who filled it owns a stainless Cera and assured me it was perfectly ok to smoke that out of the EO cart. It also pulled clouds of mellow, sweet vapor.

Also, I totally get the 'never smoke again' thing. I hit my Cera all night and still felt like I could sing opera if I really felt like it. At the balloon drop at midnight, a lovely gentleman handed me a blunt. After a night of long, slow draws on my vape, I probably hit too deep, but I coughed so hard I had to sit down. My throat still kind of hurts from that coughing fit. The difference a bit of technology makes is just amazing.

Also, OF - Thanks for the EO instructions. I was totally that nerd who gets out her cell phone in the middle of a show to pull up a forum post.

Okay, in a not-at-all-scientific experiment, I'm sitting here trying to finish the rest of the last bowl brought back from the show last night. I'm over 10 hits (decent, visible, 3 foot exhale hits) in. I don't know exactly how many, because I kept losing track. More than 10. Cera is very hot, I am too baked to continue, and I'm suddenly aware that breakfast is happening everywhere but my hotel room.

I will conduct a scientific test later, but I'm going to need some reinforcements for that.

You're welcome. Glad you're happy, I'll be sending my bill along then, please remember your current joy and happiness when it gets there?

Great report, sounds like a good time for sure, may be a new record in the 'stranger users per hour' category? I hope you got documentation........

Thanks for the post. Enjoy the holiday.

EO core for the win!

Very well put, Bob! A powerful tool for good if there ever was one......

Perhaps the most powerful available to the common man today?

OK, I'm designing a scientific test for this. I will report back later. Gangineer FTW.

Science is good, I like science.

I love the "Gangineer" bit. Sounds like something Disney would come up with somehow. I think you should be able to get some of those lovely free stimulus dollars from Obama.....I'd much rather the taxpayers support this than say Solindra or some more wind farms, wouldn't you?

Happy holiday to all.

Hey all,
I'll be getting a Cera in the not too far distant future, and want to get some of the Panasonic 18650CH batteries before they all go. I've got an Aussie source for these (same place therobbo got his I believe) and they have both the nipple top and flat top versions. Which are the best fit for the Cera?

Cheers

Either will work fine. I have both. The flat tops might have a slight advantage in that you can put them in positive down without the nipple getting caught up in the spring.

Best wishes. BTW you guys 'down under' get to celebrate 4/20 too you know? You have to do it the day before of course, or is that the week after? To avoid confusion maybe we should just celebrate it every day?

OF

Edit: In view of the post below I'm withdrawing my advice. I have no problem here, and I'm pretty sure TV is shipping flat tops (my Beta Test battery from them is flat top) but if one fellow has a problem that's worth considering.

Last official word I had from TV was it didn't matter (except in the case of the now abandoned sliding top switch which needs the nipple top), so I'll let them make the final call after the 4/20 celebration dies down?

I just got home from a crazy record store day morning, sat my stack of beautiful vinyl down and opened my mailbox to find Cera patiently waiting for me. Batteries are on the charger now. My first thought when I picked it up was: holy shit this thing is heavy. I don't mind and in general heavier=better quality but It really surprised me. The little container the extra carts come in is pretty neat, well mine would be but it must have broken in shipment because the bottom is completely broken out. Oh well, shit happens. These batteries cannot charge fast enough.

Happy Holidays!

High all — happy 420. Regarding flat-top batteries. My Cera has a copper tab that extrudes from the strap preventing flat-top batteries from making contact with the cart — they do not work with my Cera. I bought some from Amazon and had to return them because of this. I do not know if this is unique to my Cera or not but I really do not like this feature as it has restricted my battery options.

Hey Steama,

I don't know if it's unique to only your CERA (I don't think anyone else has posted this issue), but I am able to use both the button and flat top batteries (I'm using the 2250mah 18650's). Might be a good idea to have TET take a look. If it were mine I might try to fiddle with it a bit, but I'd hate to have a fellow forum member have any grief. Good luck.

Hey aj,

Congrats! Transmitting fast battery charging mojo to you over this Internet-thingy as I type. Happy 420! Don't know if you have the EO cart, but if you have a scale, weighing the cart before your first load takes the guesswork out of knowing how much medication you have remaining at any given time. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the warning. I've edited my advice to reflect it. Like NN I've had no problems nor recall anyone (including you, or I'd probably have addressed it then?) but 'word to the wise' I guess.

As I said above the last two Beta Test batteries from TV were flat tops, before that they had either factory or solder nipples to work with the sliding switch.

It may well turn out your unit is out of spec but I'd hate for the Aussie fellow to get one like it....

I appreciate you taking the time to look out for us OF. Thanks much.

You're welcome, of course, thanks for saying so.

I think it's important to keep my advice as consistent and 'up front' as possible (that means backing it up) so folks can rely on it to make decisions. Otherwise, I'm wasting everyone's time I believe.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Regards to all on 'our Holiday'.

I was just thinking about the copper tab that restricts my Cera from using flat-top cells could possibly be a safety feature by TET. Maybe they are trying to keep the lithium cell away from as much heat conduction as possible — therefore button-tops — just a guess.

I don't think so.. I have two bodies (SS from same batch as yours and a Ti from earlier this week) and all I use are the flat top batteries from the Amazon link.

I am sure they will fix you up when you send it in. You mentioned copper, could it be the solder on the bottom of the metal ring? I don't know what kind of solder they are (were) using but have always wondered if the LL cart makes it get so hot that the solder melts and shifts. I know some solder begins to melt between 300-400F. Of course, just speculation here since I didn't have any issues until I started using the LL cart.

To you as well sir. I do have the EO cart (haven't used it yet, waiting for premium concentrate to try it) but that is great advice about weighing the cart first. When I do the pre 1st use boil do I remove the orings before boiling and or baking in oven or leave them on the whole time?

Speaking of Cera does anyone have a description or picture of how to possibly comfortably hit this mean machine one handed?

Hey aj,

They can be left on. However, I like to remove them to ensure that every little nook and cranny gets cleaned and dried completely. I usually first boil for 20 minutes; then ISO soak (occasionally agitating) for 20 minutes; another 20 minute boil to get rid of the ISO; shake to remove as much liquid as possible, then into a toaster oven at say 175-200degs for an hour or so. That being said, I expect lengthy stretches between complete cleanings.

As for photos of one-handed CERA use - you might try a search for forum member Tweek (on this thread). I believe he posted a pic of how he was holding it. Good luck.

NN

Edit: BTW, you might find yourself having to 'dry fire' the core to completely dry it out (expect to hear sizzling). On the other hand, if you have the TI EO Cart, you can remove the o-rings and JUST TORCH THAT MOTHER!

ever since i got my cera, my LL core (bought LL only) has had a very particular 'sweet spot.' theres about a 1/10th of a screw of the core sweet spot where that is the ONLY time the core will fire.

usual cera routine is pop the battery in, then before i pack the trench, i have to BARELY twist the core and wait a few seconds between each turn, and hope the core starts glowing up.

by 'very particular' sweet spot, im talking turning the core maybe 1mm incriments. and if the core isnt in that sweet spot, it wont work. even mid trench if i would happen to rotate the mouth cap at ALL, it will turn the core enough to where the heating element will not work, just like i wasnt even pushing the button in.

now this really sucks because i have to kinda fiddle with my cera (usually takes about 1-2 mins to find that 'spot') but it still works. its my only vape right now and i really dont feel like sending back my functioning (even if only kinda halfway functioning) vape and be vapeless.

anyone else having similar problems with theirs, or any ideas at all how i could fix it?

I hold mine like this and dont find it uncomfortable, I have pretty strong hands from the work I do though. I push the button with my index or middle finger. While i agree its not ideal its not horrible i have never had to use 2 hands.

Ask and you shall receive , also I never did any cleaning of my EO core and didn't experience any off taste, but whatever makes you happy.

How do you remove your rings so you do not damage them? Do I still use the ISO on the 1st (before using ever, to clean off the metal dust looking stuff) clean or should I just boil it?

Thanks for the photo. Still trying to figure out the most comfortable way to hold it, that is the best I have seen so far.

Thanks, yeah definitely not horrible just takes a little getting used to.
I just thought I might want to boil the EO cart or something because there is what appears to be a little metal dust or something inside mine (a very small amount).

I am not having any problem like that, honestly as shitty as it sounds I would sent it to Thermovape so you can have a Cera that works optimally. They should be able to turn it around pretty quickly.

So I have had a chance to run a few test bowls through my SS LL Cera and I have a few thoughts and a few questions for all who care to listen. First, wow that 1st hit of vapor from a Cera full of premium flowers is absolutely fantastic, I have never tasted a better portable vape hit. Second, I love the mouthpiece design and how they figured out the 'bits in your mouth' problem. Third, Cera feels heavy and well made, I feel like worse case scenario I could use the butt of my Cera for self defense if it came to that. I do have a question though: I know it has only been a few bowls and I will get better with time but no matter how I seem to hit it The first hit or two taste great, after that it deteriorates dramatically and I dump my bowl out to find the bottom black and slightly combusted. Am I drawing too fast? too slow? Letting it pre-heat too long? The ability to vape a bowl without stirring was a huge draw for me, any tips on technique to help me achieve this goal are greatly appreciated. Hope everyone had a good holiday.

Try a more slow and steady draw, like really slow. I roast the shit out my ABV with Cera its almost all dark brown/black, but its definately not combusted, when you combust you will know it, it will taste like absolute crap and the bowl will be totally smoking on its own. How tight are you packing it, if really tight you can try a more loose packed bowl.
