Discontinued Thermovape Cera

You should get yours shipped soon. I believe they are doing the Febuary batch of orders at the moment. I would call in and ask if there have been a lot of people getting it before yours.

EDIT: Looks like OF beat me to it!
yeah, I don't want to bother them when I know they are working hard getting orders fulfilled. I am gonna give it this week before I call. Besides the SS cera with the EL core I got two batteries with no charger. No modifications to the order since I placed it. I might pony up for their charger though. Actually....let me ask.

I have a trust fire charger model #: tr-001

It says
input 1: 100-240v ~50-60Hz
Input 2: 12v 500mA
Output: 4.2v. 500mA

Probably a dumb question but will that charge the batteries adequately?

No, sorry, I don't. And it would be news to me, not to mention a bit dangerous I think. If one of the remaining ones next to the hole worked loose (doesn't have to come out) it could goof it up good as it expanded and contracted (nothing to keep it centered any more). It could wedge itself in off center easily I bet. My Beta core lost a screw (before there was a retention crimp), they replaced the 3 remaining with the new style. If it were me I think I'd ask for a screw and put it in (I actually did just that, didn't I?), in fact I've got a spare now in my kit, just 'cuz I'm paranoid.

Your call, but I seriously doubt they decided to remove one for shipments. Tim would know for sure.....

Okay, I just emailed them. I wonder if this explains the "electronic" (sorry, can't think of better term to explain) taste I am getting since air is pulling from an area it normally would not be pulling from. The taste I am getting is like the smell I get from the body. I took the battery out and wiped everything down with ISO last night and that helped a little but still getting the taste. Thanks for insight, I'll stop using for now and report back what I learn from TET.

Yeah, I'd use it. It'll be slower (half the speed) and will shut down a bit earlier (costing maybe 5 or even 10% of capacity) but it'll do fine and won't hurt your batteries.

I still use my WF-188 (basically the same as yours) when the faster one is busy.

No dumb questions, BTW. Lots of dumb answers of course, I can help you out there if you need any of those........

In the little time I’ve gotten to know my Cera, I feel like I’m mastering this thing after trying every technique posted here, the recent article written, and the Thermovape website. I’m starting to think that each user will find a slightly different technique that works for them.

draw slow and steady, really slow. This was my biggest hang up before, I was doing medium-fast pulls, and I don’t think I ever got the load to “vaping temperatures”. So super slow steady pulls, either one for 20 seconds or two or three totaling 30 seconds. This works particularly well if you are only loading 1/4-1/2 of the bowl. Think of pulling soft enough so that you don’t lift the load. You should be blowing out vapor by the end of these draws.
3.Now that it’s going, I can pull however I want. I find slow start and increasing speed over a 15 second draw gives me very nice satisfying vapor. But I can take small fast inhales, or long fast inhales.

Again, the key for me has been super slow steady pulls to complete Step 2. With that, I’ve been able to load smaller bowls, even bowls with just a little kief, and get great production. My advice to many of you would be to stick with it. Practice a variety of techniques and find the one that’s best for you. Play around with your draw speed and you’ll define your preferred technique in no time..

I completely agree, when new i was having the same thoughts, when inhaling to hard you can feel the load move up and the draw becomes less restricted. I have settled on a long slow inhale, when i want bigger hits I ramp it up slightly still pretty slow though. I like using 3/4 to a full bowl but dont really pack it at all.

Thank you OF and highnstein for your thoughts and advice. I am really looking forward to receiving my cera. Also looking forward to people's thoughts on the use of the EL core. I know I will chime in as soon I receive mine.

Interesting, going back reading the thread it looks like JCat and OF had same discussion regarding set screws in the EO cart back on page 87. At one point Zeki recommended removing one of the set screws and that seemed to fix JCat's issue. I am seeing same thing as JCat, no airflow through the EO cart when covering the four set screw holes. For my cart, the only way air seems to be getting in is through the one hole with the missing screw. No air is getting in through the recessed holes (which I cannot see) OF mentioned previously..

Was gonna wait and post after I heard back from TET but found this interesting. Will let everyone know what they say..

wooo, I don't know if I'm lucky, but only two days after ordering my SS Cera LL, I already got the USPS notification mail !! It seems that the wind has turned in the good way for all of us.

Thanks TET and FC community.

I'm running a LL, which seems to run cold. Only 2 of maybe 20-30 inhales have yielded visible vapour - even in good lighting. I'm using these batteries. So I tried searching the thread but came up with nothing about length of the break in period.

Tested:
  • Both slow and fast inhales with short and long wait in between these inhales.
  • Both shallow loaded bowls and full/packed bowls.
  • Both leaf-material and concentrate. The leaf material didn't even slightly brown, the concentrate (bubble) just softened slightly.
The Cera gets very hot to the touch, but vapour production is still minimal.

What could be going on?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I missed a previous post covering the topic.

No reply from TET yet. Have tried measuring with a multimeter on all different parts, but the values were <0.001Kohm (1ohm) and so outside reference values for the multimeter.
Are there any ways I can measure for resistance flaws? In what ranges should the values be etc?

Any info or help on the matter would be very appreciated,

I see no mention of three steps here? If you're turning it on and sucking without doing a step 1 and getting a positive test puff on step 2 beforehand I wouldn't expect more than random results at best. Since you do get good vapor every once in a while it's evidently capable. I think you have a technique issue.

Noticed now that my core rattles/jangles if you shake it. As if something is loose inside. (If you move it vertically) as if one of those thin metal plates you can place around a screw/nut.
Tested with previously tested material, looked OK cooked but will try with new plant material (no vapour from it) tomorrow.

Make sure to give a proper warmup, its really easy to get impatient i do it sometimes and notice the difference in vapor production. At least 30 seconds with the core empty, then another 20-30 once loaded. I leave the cap/MP off during this because its not needed and just gets hotter quicker. Start with a really slow/steady inhale untill you get vapor. Make sure your inhale is pretty consistant whatever speed it is, the few times I combusted I was inhaling way too hard I think. Also guys properly ground and dried flower will make a big difference. I use a 15$ coffee grinder from walmart and it works great, turns an 8th into saw dust in 15 seconds flat.

Canswe: From what ive read the jingle is normal, Its supposed to be loose for heat expansion.

If your getting poor vapor production try taking the cap off and check if the load moved all together, you will see a small gap between the load and the walls of the ceramic bowl. if this is happening u can spread it out carefully with your finger. I havnt been having this problem using a really dry/fine grind filled 3/4 to barely full(i dump it in and gently spread it out, i dont pack it)

These are just suggestions to try based off my experiences, dont take any of this as gospel because I'm no expert. This is just what works for me.

I discussed what I think this rattle is earlier today, it's a few posts up. 2876.

IMO nothing to worry about.

I imagine they are busy cranking out the products. I've sent a few emails asking to buy more stuff and I'm still waiting for a response too. Cera arrived though, and she's quite striking in person. Smaller than I expected.

Batteries are charging, excitement is building!

TET must be firing on all cylinders now. My order took 2 weeks & others have reported even less wait time.

Well I think my Cera will be coming back from the home land pretty soon.
I sent out my Cera and en LV core (that is to be upgraded to HP) at the first of last week.

They didnt specifically say that my Cera repair was done but I sent in my LV EVO core with the Cera to get upgraded to an HP EVO core. At first I was told HP wouldnt be a an option after their first attempt to rewire it, but today I got a notification that TIm was able to pull through and work some magic to get the HP Wired and I was told it should ship out today so I assume my Cera is ready too,at least based off that bit of info, lets hope I didnt assume wrongly!

By the way just want say this to Tim, Thank you very much for getting my LV EVO upgraded to HP ! You guys rock!

Nice case! And don't worry about spacers, it's ok if the batteries touch each other as long as they don't make a "loop" from end to end. The case is plastic so you just have a line of increasing voltage, but no actual circuit or current draw. :)

Thank you JoeKickass, I was so medicated (lol) that i thought about that after, but was to late to edit!!!!
Thank you for that valuable info!!!
ILMAO First thing that came to me was a type of safety warning lol lol This batch of LA Confidential has me soaring!!!!!!!

Sad News... my Cera EO has stopped working.

She had been working like a champ since she arrived last week... Then this morning I noticed it was taking forever to produce vapor, about 45-60 seconds, and could only get very small hits. Then came back and tried a few minutes ago..... and nothing. I've tried two different fully charged batteries but it still won't fire up. Held the button down for a good minute or two, then again a few minutes later with no luck.

I've emailed TET already and hope to hear back later this week.. I still have faith in this amazing product and only see this as a minor hiccup along the way. I just hope to get it back before Coachella Weekend 2 =)

Yesterday I tried to NOT screw the core into the body as deep as I would do otherwise (I would screw it in all the way, untill it didn't gave anymore, but without forcing it.
Everything worked just fine before but I sometimes got some debris in my mouth, sometimes even a bit more than I wanted to. It looks like now I don't have this problem any more because the core sits a bit higher out of the body so when I put on my mp, the tip doesn't "sink" in while vaping.
Is this something I can keep on doing or should I still screw the core in all the way?
She's still going strong, same way she did when I first got her.
One more tip, I folded up the sides of the silicone mp sleeve, making it much shorter (at least 1 cm) so now when I use the cera, I start without the sleeve and when it gets too hot I can just put it on real quick, it goes on and off in a sec as to previously I was fighting with it to put it on and off and I was always worried that eventually I would rip the sleeve.
So now I can get more sessions back to back  before things get too hot
(ps, if you are wondering why I took the sleeve of all the time, it was just a cosmetic thing, I like the sleeve but my cera is too beautifull to always keep it on !)
