You got a sharp memory!
I took some pictures as soon as I got home to share, but the app I used to upload from my phone directly to imageshack seems to no longer be supported. If I can find an alternative that works from my phone I will post them up right away!.
To utilize the UD 14mm gong I have it squeezed into the Apollo short mouthpiece using
@Ratchett's silicon reducer (
http://delta3dstudios.com/silicone-reducer-18-14mm/).
I try to have it wedged so the stem portion on the gong makes contact with the screen of the Apollo bottom chamber. I have the reducer pulled shortly above the bottom of the stem so it too is being wedged a bit into the bottom chamber, which holds securely. I then slide the short glass mouthpiece over top of the gong and it too wedges up securely with the silicone reducer and the parts all hold together as one unit. I then insert this frankenstem into the Apollo and let it pre-heat for a total of 3 minutes.
I am finding it incredibly effective tonight! I have now ran 3 gongs and the heat is apparently zeroing in directly where it needs to be and I've discovered that I had to reduce my heat from 7 to currently 5 to make sure my abv isn't coming out close to charred. I am getting rich vapor production at setting 5, and I would estimate getting about 4-5 very thick pulls per gong.
That is so impressive to me, because I am getting equally dense hits from this vape as I am accustomed to with my Underdog, which I think is considered huge praise!
Those dense hits are super hot, but super flavorful as well. It definitely tickles the throat faster than any other vape I can recall in my lifted state.
Feeling really nice like this. Can't wait to see what other mods people figure out for this unit!
