Indicator is titanium, cap and sleeve are stainless steel.
Avoid hitting the coil and discs with the torch.

Best of luck, doesn't sound like that's been much fun..
Thanks a lot! What about the part that screws onto the bowl? It that titanium?

I love that fact that I can tear this down all the way. No major harm was done. I think a good polishing will bring it almost as good as new.

For those of you using the V2 wand adaptor and the tempest 1, do you set the depth the same for tempest 1 and 2?
I personally raise the adapter a few millimeters higher when using the V1 than where I keep the V2 with the new adapter. As its been quite an improvement over the glass attachment in that it doesn't leech heat from the glass insert.
I aim for where I put my V1 with the glass adapter but on the new adapter. You might need to tweak it a few mils up or down depending on how you like your roast. Happy experimenting!

The inner cap that contains the balls is titanium as well.

Man the one hit aspect of this thing is blowing me away. I didn't have the same consistency with the T1 as I do with the T2. Original glass adapter at 595F has the second click now every time on the dot as time over shows on the Wand.

With T1 I needed to usually do a primer puff or two. With T2 and the ruby balls there is literally nothing easier after it's heated. Effortless wonderful clouds with flavor and a hearty slap across the face. I thought I was pampered with T1 but holy shit.

Would you mind @mcscruffy sharing your settings with the rubies, I.e. wand depth and wand timer / temp.? I still, struggle to get good flavour and dense clouds together.

So I have made my first attempt at a video of my Tempest 2 in action. I had trim it down for imgur so I had to cut the big cloud at the end short ☁️

This is using full bowl with flower, 3mm rubies on wand auto mode until time out

I don't normally pull the the pull the tempest out as much during the cycle, but I wanted to demonstrate how much vapour it was chucking out. There was another small lung full left after the video cuts off. I was pretty toasted for a couple of hours afterwards 😤😵‍💫

Superb. I get the same through glass with zirc, full bowl, cap fully open, carb open but feathered with finger toward end. Wand till the clicks, old adapter. Same destination but different route 8)

My V2 had its maiden voyage last night, and I’m loving it! I basically did the same routine as I did with my V1 and got great results. I may play around a bit to try different things, but I’m very happy with how it performed as-is.

My settings and method;

Head airflow: Fully open
Stem airflow: Fully closed
Bowl setting: Full bowl
Media: Stock zirc that comes pre-installed
Fill method: Stab and twist with a light tamp
Heating method: Wand with glass V1 adapter

I positioned the adapter so the indented lines on the Tempest head are fully submerged and the bottom of the lines are flush with the glass rim of the Wand. Then I set the Wand to 580F and let it go to timeout. Ripped on it, direct to lung, until the vapor stopped. Then I stick the Tempest back in the Wand and hold it upside down so I can watch the Visual Indicator. I reheat right to the second line and rip on it again until the vapor stops. Then I do that same reheat again, and I call it good. So 1 cold start and 2 reheats. My ABV came out very dark and evenly roasted, just how I like it.

Maybe it’s just the “yaaay, new things!” feeling, but….I’m honestly considering selling my Tornado now. I feel like V2 hit me just as hard as the Tornado, but with the great flavor the Tempest has always been known for. It’s a win-win. Can’t wait to give it another go tonight.

The only reason I didn’t use the new Wand adapter was purely laziness. I left it upstairs when I went to go have my session and just didn’t feel like going to get it. I’m sure I’ll give it try at some point, but I have always liked the V1 glass adapter and it had my V2 performing wonderfully.

The stem got pretty warm by the time I ended the last reheat, but not uncomfortably so. Plus the fact that I didn’t have to flutter the airport since it was fully closed, meant that I could hold it close to the mouthpiece to avoid the hotter end toward the head. I’ll definitely be picking up a wood sleeve when they’re available though. They just look awesome and the added heat protection will be nice.

I’ve been seeing that people are liking the rubies better for direct to lung hits, which is all I do, so I’ll be giving those a try in the near future.

@Brenyo hit it out of the park with the V2! Amazing device and I just love the form factor. It looks futuristic and feels solid in your hands.

You may be the first person to report multiple heat cycles I have seen. Definitely the first who went 3 cycles.

However, you do you and if that is what you are looking for, enjoy that new vape!

Many reports of that way back when first UK batch arrived... I use one hit extraction DTL and also " dip & sip" such as described, as the mood takes me 8)

That’s exactly how I ran my V1 too. I never save ABV, so I always want to get everything out of that I can. The taste diminishes towards the end of course, but that’s to be expected with reheats and doesn’t bother me at all.

Just got my hands on the V2 on Saturday and gotten to play with it a bit yesterday. A few initial thoughts. I’m sure I’ll update once I’ve run through a 1/8 or so.

The look and feel:
I remember I wasn’t sure how I felt when I first saw it and it growing on me. Now that I’ve got it in hand. I really like it. Yes it’s a bit bulky but I like how it feels and also looks.

Performance:
Depth about half. Stock zirc balls. Wand set to 510-515 to time out. New adaptor
So far I like it. I think I need to play with the depth a bit. I feel like it extracts much throughly than the v1. Cooling isn’t bad. But the stem still gets pretty hot. Like as much as v1. Maybe even more.

V1 and V2 comparison
I like the v1 stem and the revolve cooling system much more than the v2. I’ll see how I like the v2 head on the v1 body.
V2 seems to be a much thorough extraction without sacrificing taste.

Overall, I don’t see that much of an upgrade. V1 still stands pretty well on its own. Wonder how much an impact the v1 upgrade kit will provide.

We’ll see as I start to use it more and play around with temps balls and depth on the wand. But so far it seems maybe a half step ahead of the v1.

if anyone is needing a leather sleeve for their v2 tempest in the US, id highly recommend piccolaworkshopnyc on etsy. As a fellow etsy seller, I love to support small shops. The leather sleeve is handmade with real leather, with lots of colors to choose from. Fits the v2 tempest perfectly, and even came with 2 free Keychain as gifts. 5 star!

Any tips for setting screen depth without the tool? I stupidly misplaced the C shaped tool upon the V2s arrival.
Strange. I can set the bowl screen in any position with my eyes closed, one hand tied behind my back, and no special tools. But if you were to ask me to get the ball retaining screen back in, you might as well ask me to cure cancer - I just can't do it. One of my T1s is collecting dust because I cannot get that ball screen back in, no matter how many tutorials I watch. I want to put rubies in my T2 but I don't want to brick it! lol

Just to note, this etsy sleeve is genuine leather. The sleeve sold by MH is full grain leather - without going into details, full grain leather is much superior.

i just got a mh sleeve in the mail and the feel of the leather is excellent! i have had full grain leather products before that felt dry and stiff. I learned from a maker the importance of the tanning process, The horween chromexcel stuff I have feels both supple and waxed at the same time and the maker confirmed that no additional treatments were added. So I would say that not only is MH using full grain leather, they also paid attention to the tanning process. In recent memory I have only had three pieces with full grain leather that i didn't want to hit with graisse and a heat gun. The MH sleeve is one of them!

I don't find the T1 screen too bad. I roll the screen flat first. The reload is good for this but I've been using one of those little wooden brushes like a mini rolling pin!

I'm using the reload screwdriver. I drop the screen in, I do a little anticlockwise twist, and this helps it catch the threads. Then I screw it in as normal. If it's still not catching just twist it back and forth until the threads catch

The T2 is easier. You do have to use a bit of force to open it but it's just a short twist to open and close

Please make the new reload version wider in shape. Allow us to reach in with two fingers. It would also make it more stable. Oh, and give us a grinder department as a future option :)

Thats really nutty. Ive never had a problem changing balls on the V1. Sure the first ball swap was i was thinking "I hope I dont fuck this up!" The whole time.

Failure definitely was an option that day, lol. Ive tried using the tool that comes in the V1 leather case to unscrew the ball retaining screen on the V2. I messed around for 30 minutes yesterday and the day before trying to unscrew it, unsuccessfully.

The only thing I was successful in was chipping the outer coating on the MH tool. Lol. It was starting to flake off into the V2 head and I thought to myself, yeah, better grab a small flat head for this.
I dont want to vape on metal flakes as well as break a retaining screen and MH tool.
I've given it everything I got, but it would only turn maybe a quarter turn, if that, before the tool would slip out of the ball retaining screen and chip off more metal from the tool. I made sure to give the balls a good smack to make sure the balls were out of the way. No dice.

Im going to attempt to hunt down to correct tool for the job today. If not, order one because I cant stand the V2 looking at me like, thats all you got?? HAH!
My V2 feels like its in the The Sword In The Stone and the ball retaining screen is the sword.
