The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

@Caliban - I just stripped my Ti down after a similar period and other than some particles at the top of the stem it was cleaner than it should have been, no severe stickyness, it gets a lot of use.

Could perhaps be the result of a less complex airpath and improved cooling that moves vapour faster ... ?

I'm not 100% sure what it could be, but I also thought it must be the simpler path or maybe the vapor is warmer and not cooling as quick? I mainly used my T1 with the WPA adaptor (and know very little about the science of vaping), so maybe not the best person to compare. But I had to clean the set up weekly and the adaptor was always getting stuck to the head's o-rings because of all the resin. Maybe my adaptor was rubbish or it was user error?

Yes indeedy, my T1 gets sticky faster, 5-7 days and a good clean is very required!

Dirigible_Molecule,
Well, perfect timing.... Just managed to break my 'Strong Arm' glass adapter that I use with my Tempest V1.
Figures, since EU Tempest V2 is supposed to ship out this week, not really worth ordering another adapter.. guess my throat will be dry until then...

also im not going to complain about the v2 aesthetic anymore, unbreakable bongability weights way heavier all of a sudden

Just speculating, but the less complex air path could explain both the accumulation of less reclaim and a reduced cooling effect. The more time the vapor is touching the titanium the more cooling and the more opportunity to collect reclaim. We're seeing people saying that the tempest 2 cools better and cools less well. Airflow restriction (and draw speed) seems to be the main variables between users. I guess I'll have to have it in my hands to really make an assessment.

However it also is a trade off. Its hotter than the v1 (I generally max the cooling on the v1) and it makes my cough more. Will it be to harsh for my old lungs? Not sure.

I have my T1 set to direct / bypass, so the T2 is not that much different for me. MTL and bong hits are really smooth. I will say DTL with the full bowl setting gives a throat hit. .

I do think the volume of the vapour a contributing factor. I've moved the screen to 0.15 now and it does reduce the throat hit slightly.

To be honest I'm quite liking the spicy DTL rips. 3 pulls and the bowl is cooked. The only reason I reduced the bowl size is 0.20 was making me sleepy 😴💤

Do you use the secondary cooling unit SCU with your T1 when in direct bypass? That's my preferred configuration with my T1 (SCU mostly as a Scooby trap, I find it cool enough even without) and I'm curious how the T2 compares.

Anymore reports of T2 with wand? I know we got some errors initially (and that a new sleeve is in beta) but just curious if this is consistent feedback.
Mine is otw (slowly, but otw) so Im wondering if I should expect issues with the wand for now, or if its kind of random.

I've only used mine with the wand so far. No issues. Using it with the new adaptor.

The T2 has more cooling than the T1 Direct flow + SCU. More airflow too imo.

No issues with the wand for me.
Actually using the wand more often than a torch atm. Nice consistent results.
Also using with the new adapter, nice bit of kit. Prefer it to the 1st adapter.

I think like me, the people that have had issues with the wand (which doesn't seem to be many people at all), have some sort of faulty wand. Mine works with the tempest 2 but only when I lower it super slow and seems to be more prominent when the batteries are fully charged. I've got another wand on the way so hopefully that fixes my issues

Same thing happened with the Tornado to some users. Most use it with no problems. Hard to say what the issue is.

Not sure if I asked or you’ve said it already, but did you try it with the original batteries? The better molicels increase the power output, so that might lead to the issue. Both of mine do work with the p28a, I don’t have the p30 unfortunately.

Fwiw I'm also using the P28a's in my wand.

I do Not have a Tempest 2 yet… but with another vape I observed that the og Batteries which come with the wand are more Prone for the error 1 and and the error 1 Happens with Full Chargered batteries more often… with my Sony vtc and Samsung batteries I do Not have so often the error 1… or lets say with other batteries (older Sony and Samsung) or Not fully Chargerd batteries the wand seems Not so sensitive…
And Not everyone does have to have this Problems with their wand… so it is also possible that there are different wand Modells…

I was using the SCU for a long time, but I ended up taking it out as it made the stem gunk up more quickly!

I did a native DTL session with the V1 yesterday. If you push the temp for a OHE it was giving the same throat hit I get from the V2

I'm liking the new wand adaptor with the V1. I think it gives better extraction than the glass adaptor

Just recieved my tempest v2 and it really looks and feels very well machined. But I have to say I am not a fan of the new wand adapter. It adds too much mass for my liking and the screw is a little bit loose. Im not sure if the adjusted depth will stay in place when I carry it in a bag. Also im not sure how long the rubber band will hold.
The visual indicator is not as easy to see if in the wand like with the old glass adapter.(obviously)
I have to test it performance wise. A leather case would be highly appreciated.

I'm impressed at how well the new stem cools given the more direct vapor path.
It's not going to suit everyone but it does work really well.
Any try v2 head with v1 stem yet?
I've used mine a few times with the v1 stem, for me it's better for chaining bowls as I get less irritation from it, but it does feel a little warmer to the fingers than before due to the extra heat being retained in the head.

I've been using the old one, haven't changed balls either.
My wife is away this weekend, if the weather's crap, then it's going to be a weekend of testing new adapters, balls and stems etc, if it's nice then it'll be a trip up to the hills for a coffee and a few bowls while the sun sets.

@Brenyo I like all of those colours, but I like the dark green in particular though.

I get the same results using the original batteries, p28a and p30b unfortunately

I think fair play for including an adapter, to use with a product not made by MH, also adjustable so that other dhv can be used.
I get that it could move if carried in a bag, but ..
don't think you can please all the people all the time . This is Brenyo's solution is all.

😀 I didn't even get any extra screens when I got my Anvil or Tornado.
Only time I've got a sleeve/ case when buying a dhv was with the Tempest.
Still waiting for my Grasshopper case which I ordered at the same time as my Grasshopper 😂

Labetkomp makes some sweet leather cases
Think Brenyo said he has a tube in the works.

Performance, to me, was ultimately more important than any case, which I may or may not use.

Hope you enjoy getting to know your Tempest 🤙
