You guys know where I could find a Tempest rosewood sleeve? I can find the ebony in a few places, but I really want the rosewood 😅
I was on a lookout as well and it looks like verdampftnochmal got some stock now.

Just to throw out in into the void as I have no one else to talk about this stuff with..

Managed to have 2 major milestones recently with the tempest. I made my first batch of cannabis coconut oil a couple weeks ago and that hits like a brick! The reload was the only reason I actually saved my AVB, handy little device that.

I also got my hands on some hash for the first time. And damn is it great sandwiched in some weed. I kept putting my tempest back in my wand for reheat after reheat and the vapour just kept on coming 🫠
If anyone is considering either, grab the chance by the balls!

The oil was much easier than expected to make and cleanup. And now I just feel spoilt for choice having the 3 options of flower, hash and edibles! When I’ve always just been a flower guy

Throw not out into the void, lest the void chucks the lot back at ya! [Nietzsche + some poetic license]

You may also want to try using a bit of vape cotton at the bottom of the bowl (just covering the screen), then either finely crumble hash on top up to top of bowl then gently tamp down 1 mm so it isn't falling out but still as loose as possible. Or, instead of hash, drop some concentrate on it. Both work a treat.

I’ll get some cotton and give it a go, cheers. At the moment I’m basically almost filling the bowl to full, putting in the crumbly hash, covering it with a sprinkle of more bud, then tamping it ever so slightly. It’s working but one of my bowls was preeetty oily through the mouthpiece so can see how the cotton would help!

Nah. It’s just one extra step that was advised as optional, and I wanted to keep the process as simple as possible for my first time.

The oil itself doesn’t taste fantastic but in a coffee with some honey it’s quite easy to stomach. Im happy enough with it that I’m likely not gonna bother with water curing in the future either in all honesty

Has anyone dealt with a lost package when ordering directly from MadHeaters? Ordered direct from the website to USA, and based on the tracking updates I am pretty sure Ascendia lost my package. Hasn’t updated the tracking in about a week and the last status says handed over to local carrier, but USPS has no record of the package being handed over.

Just wondering if anyone else had this issue and what the resolution was if so.

I go through close to that same process with any package coming from MadHeaters. It's like the tracking services lose it for a few days, and then it arrives. I wouldn't get worried unless it's a couple of weeks behind expected delivery.

Thanks for the info!

Has anyone fond a good way to use the tempest with wide open airflod on the cap? I use it closed almost all the way, otherwise i just get hot air and no vapour or combust if i open it too much

I use it open, I heat it to 280C until the time over for the first bowl, for the subsequent back to back I remove it as soon as it clicks or it is 100% combustion

Do you have to be careful with your draw? How do you pack it? I hate combusting, gotta do a deep clean right away 😒

In the classic way, as described in the guide, directly from the grinder I press and turn, I personally also press with the reload with the lower part in order to keep weed a bit of distance from the balls

Personally, I try to pack as light as possible to get the max airflow through the bowl, airports wide open on the cap and heat to about 590℉ to timeout on the Wand. I usually find the straw method works better than the push-to-pack method for a loose fill, though also depends on the strain/batch and how it's been cured/prepared and how dry it is, etc.

Then the first draw (I do DTL's) is slow and gentle, picking up mostly just the lightest of the terpenoids (only a light vapour shows on exhale), mainly to warm up the bowl and weed to vaping temps. Then drawing harder for subsequent toke's, but using the airflow (draw strength) to control the temp and keep it close to combustion (my preference) without actually scorching it.

I've found the looser the bowl packing and better the airflow, the faster the extraction and fewer toke's needed to fully extract the bowl.

I generally keep cap airflow open, and stem set to bypass. Pack it lightly

It takes a little while for the vapour to kick in when using Zirc balls. Keep your draw speed slow and steady. If you pull too hard can ramp up the temperature quickly and scorch your bowl

How are you heating it? If you are using the wand there are detailed instructions on the Mad Heaters website. If you are torching I heat till the visual indicator is just past the second marker on the cap. If you have to reheat the bowl reduce the time a bit

I keep cap wide open and for the first draw keep carb closed to get it going, then flutter airport and rip it stl. Full bowl pack down. 600f with stock zrc or 545f with sic. Probably atleast 7 seconds after the second click. I kill the full bowl in one heat up everytime. I have messed with the ss which hold the heat longer it seems, but I haven't had an issue killing a full bowl since I've got my beta device in February. I have two caps for different balls and hopefully one day an xl bowl!! 😤😵

question about cleaning the zirconia balls. i was reading the manual and saw the two ways of cleaning where you can either torch the balls or use some sugar soap.

I normally use iso then a baking soda paste i make to polish up the metal bits on my tempest head. Could the baking soda paste be used to clean/polish the ceramic balls? or will it damage them?

Probably best not to, as you'll be abrading the outer surface. How much that would change their behaviour is hard to say, but it seems rather an aggressive way to clean them, not to mention how hard it's going to be to firmly hold each one in turn as you polish away! 😁
