Cooling wise, I think it's going to depend on how you had your V1 set up.

I have direct tube with bypass on my V1. I'm actually finding the T2 cooler when doing MTL and DTL. I did 0.15 on T2, and half bowl on V1 last night, and the big bowl felt more smooth
This. The T2 has great cooling. If T1 has more cooling, it isn't by a substantial margin at all. I also think some of the extra potency is due to the new stem.

Cloudy...
I did some testing with the 3mm SiC balls but changed back to the default 3mm Zirc after some bowls. I think the better flavour and that they keep the heat a little bit longer is worth it. Im using it natively. Just wonder how the rubys will perform.
Do we know when we get the new manual?

I'm not sure how it is with the V2, but with the V1, I like SiC (2.5mm) for half-bowl settings. You get full extraction with just one heating.

For the full bowl one, I like to use 3mm Zirconia and enjoy the flavor. I'm excited to try it with the V1 update and more heat retention :brow:

As I'm still waiting on my T2, I am confident this is the best response to any debate about effectiveness on how well the two devices cool the vapor when compared to each other.

I'm interested to hear if anyone can provide their personal experience when attempting to create conditions as similar as possible when comparing the two devices - airflow settings (I understand they can't be identical due to the differences in the engineering), wand settings (while heating the devices both from room temp - same batteries with identical battery life would be ideal but unpractical), same flower (same grind, same pack, same mass), etc. I'd imagine multiple tests from multiple similar settings would be needed to best gauge.

Anyone feel like getting stoney baloney for science?

Always up for some science, what do you wanna know?
I'm in the honeymoon/testing phase, trying to find my favorite setup for it, so taking requests :D

I can tell you this for starters, in my opinion - without the cooling unit it is much different than a helix tube Tempest v1, but very similar to a direct tube Tempest v1. With the cooling unit it is more similar to the helix T1 and noticably different than direct T1.

If I was doing a blind Tempest draw test, v1 vs v2, I am pretty sure that I would not notice the difference... both perform very similarly and have that same signature.

Gotta say, the new adapter is the MVP though, it heats up faster and the batteries last longer - I am impressed.

Does anyone have a photo of the new wand stand and adapter? Will the original still fit the v2? I like being able to watch the visual indicator through the bottom while heating up

Regarding the magnet pull on the reload - it is much weaker, is this intended, @Brenyo ? I cannot open the bowl with the regular top-side reload magnet, i have to use the slotted one because it keeps spinning in place.
Mine feels like it can slide on it a little easier as well, doesn't cause me any issues fitting or removing though.

I'm pretty sure it's the screw, it has to be the same. I can't feel any difference.
I noticed it with mine too, on the T1 head the screw protrudes above the surface ever so slightly even when tight, could it be that that's gripping the magnet better?
It's worn a wee circle on the magnet of my reload lid, it's not sticking out so high that it's removing metal as such, just affecting the finish a little. The screw head on my T2 seems ever so slightly below the surface.

I've swapped screws for old or new spares, screws from old model to new and vice versa and it was the same each time.
Maybe a slight variance in the countersunk drilling on the head piece not allowing the screws to wind down fully on some of the older tempest's, or some of the newer models it's countersunk a little too much?

Not causing me any issues.
Will the original still fit the v2?
Yeah it fits, but you need to bump the temp up, I'm at 330c-350c till time out with the zircs depending on the battery level.

With the stainless steel balls I'm around 345c til time out.
