Could someone please answer this for me?
Somewhere in the thread I read there was a 10 to 1 return rate on reclaim oil. I've smoked well over 10 grams in it (mostly on the higher heat setting for bud/low dab setting) and I've only really got 1 dab from it and that was from scraping a bit out of the tube beneath the atomizer.

So I guess my question is, what is the actual return rate? How can I increase the return rate? Should I use more bud with a higher THC than CBD to get more reclaim? Or do I just have to wait for a little build up in the tube before it drips into the reclaim catcher.

If someone could answer all 4 of those questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ya the UFO tends to get stuck, what I do to stop that is always pull the heater while still torching, never had it lock up when using this technique.

Sadly, the same thing happened right afterwards, I tried to remove the ufo 30 seconds after while still heating and it wouldn't come off.

A dab is about .05 or so usually, but again everyone has different ideas on how big a dab to take

Ya just make sure to always keep heating as you try to pull the heater off, if you let it cool, it will most likely stick.

The only way to learn how to use it is to combust, I've combusted probably 3 times since I've had my UFO. Teaches me something different every time.

You can increase the rate of sublimate production by vapeing bubble, dry sift, scissor, etc. Not sure about the THC question. Pretty much you have to wait and vaped more. bHO will bring down the quality of your sublimate and ruin your country's economy, but should increase your production.

It took me about 30 hits of flower to get one drip from a clean unit. Hits ranged from .15 to .20 grams. Yesterday we vaped maybe an eighth in a few hours and my atomizer made a bunch. I use stock screen wedged high with two old ultra fine screens wedged low. Clogs quick but my sublimate is very clean.

It has been said from @Tommii that it is more like a regular vaporizer. The enail has straight holes coming out the bottom of the heater while the Apollo and UFO have vortex holes...

Actually Tommii is the one who did ground herbs with the nail for me I remembered it worked well actually, totally milked the piece.

It works no doubt but doesn't " sublimate". Otherwise there would only be one model....

I saw a recent vid saying that a new Enail 2.0 will have the vortex holes so you can vape better with it. Watch for the repeat of Friday's CCN (I think that was where I saw it) which will show up eventually on Youtube or Pot.TV line up.

Nothin you can break that I know of. By I just use orange chronic on mine and it cleans imperfect every time with minimal scraping....just cleaned the whole atty and the taste and performance are ten times better!

@shredhead When you clean your atomizer down-stem, do you scrape out the sublimate first, or do you just let it come out with whatever solvent you use? I just tried scraping mine for the first time and nothing will come off. The only way I could scrape out the sublimate would be to heat it up first. Alternatively, I was considering soaking the atomizer down-stem in alcohol and then evaporating. Advice?

I don't really care for the minimal reclaim you can achieve, but if you wanna keep it then ya ISO first then run through a coffee filter and evap. I just scrap what ever oil I can get at form the bottom and clean the whole thing with orange chronic and a SS scraper.

I've produced "egg-drop sub" limate before and you don't seem to lose much, it all globs together, very sticky.

It almost looks as though it is easier to have water in the glass if one doesn't have a sublimate catcher.

I just cleaned mine as you described, i.e., (1) heated up the atomizer with the apollo; (2) scraped what I could out of the atomizer down-stem; (3) soaked in isopropyl alcohol; (4) scraped some more into the alcohol; (5) started evaporating the alcohol; and (6) rinsed the atomizer and down-stem. It is really surprising how hard the sublimate gets, which makes it that much more difficult to scrape.

Edit: Wow. You weren't kidding about cleaning the whole atomizer making such a difference in performance. For one thing, it felt like there was no drag when taking a hit. I think I had become accustomed to a really difficult draw. And, the hits are way better. Much more like when I first got the Sub; the glass almost instantly milks up, totally white. Prior to cleaning, it was not milking up anywhere near as well. Again, thanks for the tip FC.

Every night before I shut her down, I scrape the bottom of the stem (still hot) & usually get a fair glob of sublimate (3 - 4 tokes worth, each night) that i use to help me sleep. Not to mention the amount that collects in the reclaim catcher at the bottom. It is so hard, but so tasty & what a nice glow it provides !!

I have a question for those of you who use ice cubes to cool down the vapor.
If the atomizer purpose is to break down the vapor particles into smaller ones thru the process of reheating them, doesn't the ice put them back together? kind of the same process distillation works by liquefying the vapor, in other words, putting it back together?

I don't think anyone uses ice with the sub, no need. The vapor is way too smooth for ice or water.

I'm looking into PBW. How many ounces should I buy? 2 oz or 1 lb? 1 oz to a gallon is the ratio?

Just cleaned my tube, atomizer, and Apollo. Gave everything a nice clean except the very inside of the atomizer downstem. Didn't want to fuck with my sublimate flow. Got a nice blob going.

The cleaning made a huge diferrence and was needed. My screens were getting clogged super quick because all the residual gunk in the bowl area. Everything is improved with a thorough cleaning. Time for more rips.

If it is so smooth, and I don't doubt your words or the other members (evidence shows exactly that), then why was marijuana man and a few other people on youtube almost coughing a lung after just one hit?

Reasons why is because they got good shit subbin through those waxes and herbs. I cough too. You need to understand that the main thing the Sublimator can do for you is make you feel like you are smoking again except without the carcinogens and what not. Pure THC rushing to your lungs will always automatically make you cough. That is just what happens if you inhale a lung full. Some take their time and don't cough or if so it usually stops faster than you would cough from smoking a blunt, pipe, or bong. Always depends on the user and their preference. The smoothness we are talking about is the delivering of the vapor and how without the need of water makes it even more smoother to intake. Of course holding onto those huge amount of clouds will eventually make you cough. That's how the THC gets delivered to your brain and the rest of the body. Sorry for the literal explanation.
