Discontinued The Sublimator

In the meantime I will change from cheap acrylic to cheap silicone just to see what happens

The cheap silicone air line is waaay worse than the cheap acrylic.
I'm going to see what the local hardware store has lying around tomorrow.

The atmoizer is still stainless steel it seems? And the top part? If just the heater head is ti I'm not sold. I'd want to to be all ti where the metal is hot if I was going to upgrade. We'll see how this pans out!

UFO sessions all night tonight, with tastey tastey suds and ps3 goin all night, me and my buddy are on our way to a good Friday. I've been trying to only use my sub for my end of the day sessions so it can be a nice treat, but today will be an exception:tup::D

I've been vaping for awhile now, but the sublimator is the one that brought me to this fine message board. I've loved vaping since the first time I inhaled the wonderful essense of vaped bud, used a vaporbrothers for years now- but the sublimator has brought blazing to a new level for me.

The only trouble I'm finding now is that I definitely need some new sort of glass that will stabilize the sublimator itself. The beaker bong I use works, but I'm always worried about it falling over since the sub sits on an angle, and it has a lot of extra drag that I don't particularly care for (especially because I don't use water in it).

So my question to you guys is what is a dope set-up should I get? I went to 2 pretty decent headshops in my town tonight and all of the stemless pieces I saw/tried were too short for the whole sublimator bowl to sit in without getting the stem of it wet.

I think what I really need is an oil catcher that I can attach to a stemless bong/bubbler/recycler to get rid of that problem all together, but all the ones I found in the shops only had male attachments for domes.

Can you guys help me find something in the $200-$350 price range that will be stable, possibly have nice percolation, and/or an oil catcher? I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Thanks all. Keep on subbin' :)

What is a moon tool?
IKNwzFT.jpg

Where are the Ti units and moon tools? Vaporwared?
Update on this - the grill is another word for a screen, the moon tool is the actual tool. 2 grills (screens are included) you can also use an iolite screen as Enrico uses in his videos. There will be two Moon tools, one small version made from surgical stainless which will be included in all future Sublimator kits as soon as they are available and will also be sent for free to all existing Sublimator owners who didn't receive one in their kits. A larger more advanced Moon tool made from titanium will also be available as a separate product.

"Sublimator is releasing a tool soon, think the name changed, but won’t know more until they get released." From A PV email in October 22nd.

Seems PV is waiting on Sublimator to get their shit together.

Any FC machinists want to crank out a batch of moon tools?

What is so special about the moon tool? It just looks like a flat dabber. Why not just use a regular dabber? Seems to work just fine for me. I haven't smoked in over a month other than through the sublimator. Shouldn't be more than another 2-3 weeks before the new stuff is released.

Yeah PV made that statement about seven months ago, it would seem that it's overdue for a follow up!

Personally, I've given up and am just going to get rid of my unit. I've pumped too much money into a product I initially had alot of faith in, just to be disappointed by an apparent lack of any concern for the customer on the companies part. I don't even hold PV accountable...I was promised by the sublimator rep months ago, that my concerns would get looked into and they haven't, as far as I am aware. Nice to see all these new developments, such as a TI unit coming to fruition, while us early adopters are left by the wayside, expected to dish out more money for an exchange.

No way in hell am I going to pay for any upgrades. My hard earned cash is going to companies that actually give a shit about their customers.

That's the last I will say on it...but it had to be said. I am VERY disappointed and let down...and I know I am not the only one.

I'm determined to fix mine on my own because I feel the same way.
I just got the new switch for my timer box in today:
$(KGrHqJHJBQFBFffihJyBQ1JrEl7Cg~~60_57.JPG

So no more timer but a nice bright light when it's on and no fucking buzzing.
If I want a timer I will plug it into one of these for $10.44 shipped:

And I'm even thinking of a whole new box, that will let me try a better light dimmer (rated at 500 watts/halogen), that will hopefully offer a greater range of attenuation:

I'm not sure that I'll go this ^ route right off the bat, because the apollo is hard-wired to the dimmer.
When I do I will incorporate a modular connector,
much like the one enrico is reportedly adding to an upcoming sub model:

I would love to see sub-hacking become a cottage industry here  :science: !

I have had greAt customer service through PV. They've answered every email I've sent them and fast too. The new medical kits are coming out at the end of This month and all of the new models will be out with the titanium and upgrades and everything else will work itself out. I've heard from Enrico and from PV that there will be a fee for upgrading but not too much and I'm assuming it'll be the difference in price between the old Apollo and the new Ti one for the upgrade fee if u already have an older version Apollo. By the end of January, all of your questions will be answered. Don't give up on em now. But I'm not opposed to having a sub hackin community thread with DIY's.

As I've said, it has nothing to do with PV. This has to do with Enrico & Sublimator and issues with the original batch of units. I have no interest in paying an upgrade fee just to get a proper working unit that I paid a premium for in the first place.

I see you are new a member here...perhaps read back from the beginning to get a better understanding of what I am referring to...and realize that many of us have given more than a fair amount of time to address our concerns.

I've been waiting months...long enough thanks.

I understand now. Yeah I'm new here and purchased mine from PV. They have answered all my questions but I get how OG members would feel. I feel the same way tho. I just bought mine a lil over a month ago and now I have to pay for an upgrade? Not fair either. However, my unit does work so I don't have the same issue as u do. They won't let you send your broken one back in to get fixed?

can i ask all you sublimator owners, that now you have this atomising BEAST, do any of your other vaporizers get any love(especially home units).......... i could still see portables being of use, but does it destroy all other home units?

Since you will never hear the answer you want to hear from the sub crew I am curious as to which company you plan to spend your hard earned cash on next?

I was waiting on the Ti version for quite some time, been talking to PV about it for the past few months and followed this thread since inception.

I do however trust Tweek's (and other's) assessment and judgement on services and have to re-think whether this is a company (Sublimator) I want to endorse. Services to me are just as important as the product purchased...even more so when you pay a premium price for something. Superior services are expected.

Thank you Tweek for your honest feedback...so many vaporizers right now it helps to narrow down the selection.

Much love to PV as always.

Not sure if you are trying to be facetious or are genuinely asking, but this thread is not the appropriate place for me to answer. If you would like my opinion on some current vapes, feel free to PM me.

I won't answer anymore questions about this matter here. I have stated my opinion, and have no interest in taking it any further in this thread. Those who know me, and have been part of the sublimator thread from day one, know that I was an early adopter, and one of the earliest fans of the product...so this isn't just some out of my ass complaint.

If you are a current fan of the company and product, that is your right. My experience has been different.

No, it does not. The V-Tower still gets use.

@Tweek it was a legitimate question because I (and I'm sure the rest if FC) would love to know which vaporizer company pays for return shipping on vapes that need warranty work.
