Discontinued The Sublimator

The Sublimator is the best medicating tool I own. Why would ANYONE who isn't interested in the Sublimator even bother to read this thread. If you got nothing better to do than read about shit that makes you mad, you got a sad life. I'm sorry you are so jelaous of Enrico but you should really get over whatever you think he did to you.

Not to mention, if you open most vaporizers you might be surprised to find some of them to be fairly simplistic...that doesn't suddenly warrant a price drop. Lots of factors go into cost...but only the manufacturer knows the exact number for their device and necessary mark up for profit.

As to electrocution...unless you know of a deliberately unsafe form of wiring, most electrical devices run the risk of electrical shock when in contact with water. For example, I wouldn't go blow drying my non-existent hair in the bathtub.

I thought that the replies on here would be pertinent to my theory regarding sublimate/kief being mixed together!

I did not expect to find a deluded hater whose girlfriend was clearly stolen away by Enrico when she realized that he's the one who actually had ambition and the drive to go with it.

All I can say is, please don't listen to the jabberings of an incompetent moron who clearly is filled with more venom than anyone who medicates ought to be.

Do you lack the funds to buy quality herb and thus opt to take it out on society?

I pity you.

All I can say to anyone reading this moron's vitriol is that I, like Tweek and many others, paid hard earned cash for this device - and I was actually telling my girlfriend the other day that I am trying to justify buying another at the same price point just so I can put it in storage in the event that I burn through the cord or something daft.

And I am far from swimming in money.

And where you get off with this whole electrocution and death count bullshit is beyond me, honestly.

You'd have to be a complete fucking moron to manage anything along the lines.

Oh wait, you are.

I've 20-30 vaporizers and the Sublimator is one of the 2 home units I still currently use (the other being the Cloud). I think it is actually pretty decent value considering all the costs associated with manufacturing, startup, sales, support, etc., etc. ... even if the Sub's materials are less than $100 (not saying they are) ... the extra $400 is easily eaten away by all the other associated costs so that the end profit margin I don't imagine is that large (one has to make a living! ... why would one bother if it was not profitable?)

Good for you Enrico as an entrepreneur! I hope you make a decent living at this and are having a good time doing so!

Jcat I really don't care what you say. There are always white knight apologists like you to grease every con artist's thread.

I'm sure you love whatever lets you think your reclaim don't stink, buddy. But I'll tell you what: If my vaporizer produced that much reclaim, which is waste, I would throw it out, or redesign it, because it would be broken.

The atomization is just displacing oxygen and making you dizzy. You mistake tha dizzyness with being high. But since when does being high dissipate as soon as you've caught your breath. Buddy, is your weed really that bad? The Weed Guy's is. That's why he flavors it. No wonder he likes selling this thing.

I am not content with a lack of O2 displacing my cannabinoids. I do not call my reclaim gold. Try holding your breath until you learn the difference between it and being high.

The resin is supposed to make it into your lungs.... not drop through the bottom. That is a clear indication of a very bad design, and you suckers are eating it up like it's gold.

If you had a good batch of fresh BHO vs "sublimator" reclaim, are you going for the reclaim? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I suppose you also congratulate Enron for their entreprenurerial skills too.

I really appreciate your costs breakdown, though, because clearly you know what you're talking about? Did you also factor in the costs of father's free machine shop?

Did you know the profit margin on a thousand dollar downstem is about a thousand dollars? I don't see what contribution you're making here, other than to ensure the resale value of your rip off widget remains high enough so that you can dump it and not take a complete loss.

Everybody, I am the guy that gave enrico the idea for a heated downstem. I never ever gave him the idea to call it "sublimator" and rip everyone off. I am so ashamed that I had any part in this at all.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I didn't read that the first time I went through your ignorant bullshit.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Oh man that's awesome.

Well done, Enrico!

Poor, pathetic, jealous little bitch is now trying to derail your extremely effective marketing of an extremely effective product on account of living under a bridge because he didn't have the intellect to take his own brainchild to market.

As a business graduate, I applaud you Enrico - there's something extra special about having made someone with so much pent up frustration and underlying anger foam at the mouth.

Do you watch Enrico's life from a distance and wish you had done more with your own?

Poor, poor dave44.

Oh look, suddenly someone questions information. But only when doing so supports their present state of ignorance.

Everybody knows Enrico didn't invent anything. Catch up. I mean, have you never seen a downstem, dude?

The only thing enrico "created", were all the marketing lies. That's all he can take credit for. You know, all the things none of you care about, but love him for? "Nice guy"

You can even see in his tour video, where he tells you his daddy's employee is the guy that "takes care of all the materials/heat transfer/fittings and things".....

Well, what did enrico do then? He created the lies for it. He didn't even put it together.

Don't you think it's odd, that the "creator" has to ask for permission to touch the machines in his own shop? How'd he create anything when he can't even touch the machines.

I'm not feeding him - merely riling him up to the point he has an aneurysm.

He strikes me as being volatile enough to pop a blood vessel pretty easily when unable to express his anger through violence.

I'm not going to bother responding to the rest ... as it's not well thought out and is simply attacking me and others (and Enrico, which is fine if you wish to do it in a polite, and constructive matter). I will respond to this one though:

Apparently YOU ARE THE ONE who needs to HYPE THEIR CLAIMS since you are stating the cost of the downstem as >8X it's actual cost ... it's not $1,000 ... where are you getting that number from? The downstem on it's own (actually whole atomizer assembly which INCLUDES the downstem and bowl) is only $120, not $1,000. For point of comparison, the cost of a piece of borosilicate glass before it's made into something isn't that expensive either ... it's the labor and specialization in creating something out of it that is worth money ... I guess according to you someone should only sell it for a few dollars profit if they get to use friend or family member's equipment to blow the glass? What a croc of shit ... you're saying that a person's time and skill is worth less if they didn't personally have to pay for the equipment that they use?

If you are going to criticize, and by all means feel free to do so in a constructive way, than at least get your facts straight and stop personally attacking various forum members (not all my posts are pro Sublimator by the way ... it's not a perfect product)

I don't find that my high dissipates at all, to be honest. I actually feel it lasts longer vs some of my other desktop units (Volcano, SSV)

I don't feel the oil is gold, but it's nice to be able to collect so easily much moreso than my other units. For example, I can just scrape it out of the downstem with the sub, but have to iso soak Volcano bags if I want to reclaim from them.

I also enjoy being able to dab with my sublimator at the same time as tossing some flowers in the bowl. So even though one could look at it as a "simplistic" device, it still offers many layers of enjoyment...at least for me. And I have very little waste, as I use the oil or as you prefer to view it, reclaim.

Cost wise, I've always said I would like to see it cheaper. But there is more than just the machine shop to consider...marketing, packaging, labour and any additional tools they needed.

I just don't think it's fair to bash the guy. I genuinely enjoy his product. If you both have a personal score to settle, then that is best done off the forum

Dude, seriously... We got your point... Loud and clear. No point getting your knickers in a twist.
If you feel so strongly, develop a competing product. Considering how many on here have been conned into buying the sublimator, imagine how much better a product designed with your intimate knowledge would be. Carrying on in this vein gives the impression that you are swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool...

You say you're the inventor but, may I ask, why are you coming out now with all this information?.

hey guys. I have one of the first batch of preorder no-timer sublimators. Does anyone elses dimmer switch make a buzzing noise in the higher wattage range if you put your ear up to it? If I have my sublimator on a high enough temperature it makes a buzzing noise that's feint, not a frequency that bothers like me like my arizer solo used to but enough to be annoying.

Willeh,

Never noticed it before - but yeah, if I put my ear right to the switch there's definitely a light buzz.

That's at the regular 29-30W that I keep it at.

Entertainment for the day is over folks. And in the future, rather than responding and feeding "the beast," please just hit your report button. Otherwise, it just fuels the fire and gives the person more ammo.
Sorry mom :( ... we were just having so much fun :) (I know ... I know ... fun at someone else of lesser intelligence's expense isn't really nice ... still ... he was pretty antagonistic )

Hey Sublinauts! After reading through this most helpful thread, and hearing various whispers in the wind (I.e. on he interwebz) I pulled the trigger and got a sublimator via PV almost three weeks ago... All I can say is WOW - this is what I've waiting for since I heard about the whole concept of vaporizing. I've tried (and owned) various vapes (volcano, pax, iolite, shitty $40 ones and many more) over the past 15 years and have always gone back to ripping bong hoots, as other vapes i tried always left me wanting more. As someone quoted previously, I was very much also of the "get back to me when you can fit 10 volcano bags into one hit" mentality. I'm not going to get into the science of it since that's way over my head, but the way I look at it: if everything else out there is vaporization, the sublimator is WAY beyond vaporization - as advertised. The sublimator is the real deal to say the very least. Since it arrived 3 weeks ago - before PV's summer break thankfully - I've not even thought about another medication method. Everyone who has tried it has been blown away, including some long term heavy medicators.

Thanks to the advice in this thread, I'm hooked up to a Hampton emegry monitor; sweet spot for flowers has been around 30-32 depending on moisture and for oil dabs about 38-40. I've combusted a bowl or two by being impatient after a few oil dabs while waiting for it to cool enough for flowers, but chalked it up to the learning process.

I've been running it both dry and wet, and have no real preference either way, though dry has been through a straight tube with next to zero drag vs wet ones through a leisure glass 15 arm bubbler, which takes a bit more puff. Both are good and stable though, and have no problem holding the sub for hours at a time. I've not had any issues with the Teflon expanding with heat and getting stuck/cracking joints, though I've been careful to not jam it in too far before heating, and once warm, it just pops in and out.

I've been using the stock screen thus far, just sitting on the top ridge, dumped out after each bowl. No probems so far, though the sublimate higher up the atomizer is a bit chunky. I plan on wedging in a finer screen to keep the oil a bit cleaner, while also using the hard stock screen above for easy dumping.

No issues with the two parts of the atomizer coming loose on me yet, but I keep an eye on it as well as ensure not to twist when pulling out to clear the tube. Like others have experienced, the c clip below the Teflon lasted about 30 seconds after opening the box, but hasn't seemed to affect things in terms of tightness between the two parts.

And that brings me to my first question - what's the best way to get the bowl/downstem clean? I have given the bowl a soak/scrub with ISO but it was still kinda grimy afterwards. I didn't bother with the atomizers downstem as the airflow is still quite good, but want to get it nice and clean before commencing with the new screen combo.

Thanks in advance for your help - and a huger thanks for being able to help me make the decision to get sublimated!
