Ironically 7th floor has them @Summer . I hope this gets worked out. I am big fans of both brands.

At the end of the day I see Ryan's design as a mouthpiece that can double as a torch driven vape. I could probably pull 15 parts out of my collection of vapes and frankenvape something similar. Ryan freely admitted that it's inspired by the elev8r which is the right way to do it rather than a number of other examples I can think of.

My guess is you cant sucessfully patent a glass tube with bumps, the same way you cant really patent a mesh heater. One small design change and you can call it unique.

My new smoant cylon mod seems to have solved my resistance problems. Its a really nice mod same thickness as the splinter so looks good. Not missing cruise mode, the cutoff timer is really long.

Maybe @KeroZen was right about cheap mods. Ill keep my cuboid as a spare.

Sry for intrude into the discussion,but i for the record this design was available as a heater many years before the elev8r and i kind of doubt that the 7thfloor came up with it without inspiring from Gn0me(http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/gn0me-lighter-based-vaporizers.4709/). I also highly doubt someone would go in trouble to patent something that simple.
As for using those cooling stems as a heater i would hardly advise against it if they are colored. Also if it is china boro would probably develop cracks very quickly, i use Simax glass joints and they outlast the Chinese stuff tenfold.

did not know about gnome but it seems like elev8er is not the first one withnthis idea... I also doubt that you can patent this...

Well it is not true, as i linked above anyone is free to check the Gn0me thread. This heater design is born in Canada made by Calen Harmon years ago and that cut joint of the elev8r heater they got it from the Vapocane.
As popular as vaporizing is nowadays ,there still is a majority of smokers out there. People in the vaping industry shouldnt be that worried that someone or a competing company is going to eat their bread.There is room for everyone,and variety is the spice of life, so please brings us more SPICE ..

Well to get back on track, my RBT care package came today and man am I fucking excited.
I'll be around these parts a lot more now that I got my Splinter repaired AND an Oak!!! I've been using the Mi2 and Zion, and unfortunately those threads are pretty tiny haha. Glad to be able to chill in the Splinter thread again! Be prepared for Splinter and J Hook .... it's coming!

Brought my Splinter / J Hook combo to a friend's house. He has the HA and my older, hot Milaana.

I set the Splinter on a decent temp for big hits but still great flavor. Told him to double click, place the splinter on the JHook and pull moderately slow. He blows out a huge cloud and looks at me like he doesn't know what just happened, I'm like, it's smooth right? Didn't even know you were getting vapor? He's like yeah man holy shit I thought nothing was coming through.

Went through a sesh together, no stirring needed. Too much fun man, I'm loving this thing.

Some advice guys. On my evic cuboid i use a TCR value of 160. On the smoant it is in the format 0.00000. Is the equivilent value 0.00160?

Might be a stupid question but having trouble getting it dialed in.

It will, but you need a heat sync to bring the splinter up level or higher then the batter cap. There's a photo kicking around somewhere here.

Caution. It is not possible to avoid removing splinter from pico when battery needs to be removed/replaced thus there is thread risk.

Been using my Oak Splinter almost exclusively since I've received it. Done plenty of Water hits, JHook hits (probably my favorite all around sesh), and stock short stem.

With the short stem, I'm surprisingly finding that I prefer wattage mode recently. It provides hits faster and smoother. The TC is good for long drawn out consistent hits, but seems harsher with the longer hits. The wattage has been friendly with the stock stem.

I wonder where I am in the Splinter queue and when production will ramp up. Last I checked the Instagram stream it sounded like there was still a fair number of wrinkles to iron out with production of glass and wood.

I'll be excited to try it out when the time comes. In the meantime I tend to unwatch this thread since there's diminishing returns watching dozens of folks chime in about getting their Splinters and loving them. Let's just say it does nothing for my patience. =)

Hey man! Got mine at a LocalHS but I bought RBT one from dankstop that was a grav Labs and he says the quality is amazing. Was like $19.
