Thank you @Easywider and @triskelion, that's really helpful. I gather from what you're saying @Easywider that the material files can be used instead of setting the TCR. Did not know that. I'd imagine they provide some advantage/flexibility over the TCR. Okay, that's next up to noodle around with! (I seem to enjoy tinkering with my vapes as much as using them. It's actually one of my strategies for moderating my use. That, and a Kitchen Safe.)

Yeah. pop one round pipe screen (same ID of tank) inside the tank, use glass stem to push the screen down
to the 'bottom. load ur material; put the stem with the top hat, puff, stirring made easier also
not trying to be smart aleck, but hey! it works.

Awesome to hear it's working I was afraid you where feeling some buyer remorse. Hopefully this helps that turns it joy instead.

Went back and checked the splinter file and felt was running bit on the coolside so switched files. To save future confusion did away with splinterZa an B. Renamed material files to reflect change to those files.
I also updated theme to Franks.

Yes DNA use TRF instead in material files.
If going TCR route I would start around 120 then work up and down from there.

The Splinter and SplinterZ already have a lot of restriction with the finer mesh intake screen . I feel it's one of the reason they work so well at controlling scorching of the material. I not sure with these 2 I would want to restrict the air more before the load.

With these 2 I get a better effect using a fine mesh basket screen in stem. I think the newer splinter and splinterZ switched to this design. If someone could confirm it that be great.

I forget, is a "temp protect" warning on the Nano something to worry about? Does it mean there's no current to the Splinter when that screen appears?

Yes, I like this, I'd love to see puff time. I applied the theme but my home screen still displays V/A under ohms

Humm can you check under setting there a place to toggle the setting. Either way I'll go back and check it should be set to puff.

I also haven't adjusted it yet in the Triade file sorry working on that one still. I though I removed it from FCSHARE well updating did it allow you to download it?

EDIT--New version of Triade uploaded

On the vt75d if i get the temp protect there is no power going to the mod. It happened a bunch when i first got it. Sometimes i would just have to take the batteries out and put them back in or also unscrew and screw the splinter back on. havent gotten the error in a few weeks though. It uses a different chip than the nano i believe so could be different issues.

Herbie was kind enough to sort me out with message. There's a setting in the escribe theme designer.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I keep my Z on a VT75D. Hope it's better put together than the Nano.

@HerbieVonVapster i just updated earlier today with your latest dna250 profile and am using the Wismec reauloux dna250. It seems like both my splinter z and my v1 are running cooler than the previous versions of your profiles. I do not have ohms locked, I think I recall reading that it’s better to avoid locking the ohms?

Monk Debate

The monks do be debatin’
I’ve got a box mod coming and I know I want either a Splinter or Z to go with it. I know the Z uses the Zion heater and has more power, but which Splinter do people feel has better taste? I tend to be a lower temp flavor chaser so I’m not sure I need the additional power of the Z.

Which one would you recommend?

Taste is even, all RBT products have the same great flavor purity. I do notice with my V2 that there's a bit more of a fresh factory hint, so a US custom may be preferable, but my V2 neutralized very fast. You really can't go wrong with either!

The reason I updated them was felt after last service pack the splinters where running too warm. If you can check your service packs for me that be great. Mine are running DA250c SP38, DNA250 SP#6 and the DNA75c is SP33.2.

Also running escribe version 2.0 SP19 international version.

If using the same service packs make sure cold OHMs is correct. If still experiencing problems try out on the splinter material on the splinterZ in the DNA250c.

Worse case you can restore the old version thru the backup feature in escribe. I will retry the splinter on the DNA250 to see if experiencing the same issues.

At the risk of getting "read the threads!" piled on...

Is there any difference in woods between the standard Splinter Zv1 and Zv2? I know he removed the mica from the V2, but the wood looks the same as the V1? Vgoodiez still have a couple Zv1s left and Puffitup is now selling the Zv2. They look identical.

Any other differences between the Zv1 & v2? I'd hate to mix up my Zv1 with my new Zv2.

Thanks much!!!

I certainly will do! Is there an easy way to check which service pack I’m using?

Yes same bubinga wood for ZV1 and ZV2, and they actually both have ceramic, no mica (regular V1 had mica). As far as I know the only difference between them is the resistor holding the heater screen in place for ZV1, it should not affect anything for performance... Also the place for this is actually the Splinter Z thread, though I won't tell you to read ;)

Meanwhile the Splinter V1 and V2 are easier to differentiate with bubinga and blackwood respectively, along with the smoked glass and ceramic in the V2.
