Not mine... opened it to write them out.
Will check again!

@TheSardine
Have you read the thread?? Lots of info.
I run mine at 320C
I've re-wired all of my High5 coils this way (and one for @biohacker), and they all work ... so if yours is wired that way, I would avoid buying any coils from High5 and plugging them in!

Just finished re-wiring 2 of my most recent NewVape coils that way for my 2 High5 units :)

Just opened the High5 coil that I purchased with a High5 controller from Planet Vape about 2 months ago.
If you want a pic, I will take one for you but mine is definitely 1,2 is power on mine with 3 the ground and two white wires on 4 and 5.
Let me know if you want a pic of the setup!

I have the BASIC one if that makes a difference...

Did I kill the party? :spliff:

If you mean the graveyard party of usually one, me, then no I am still around! LMAO!!!
Not sure what happened but it is usual with slow threads like this one!
Someone buys a used one and has lots of questions and then disappears once the answer is given. LOL!

It's cool!
The SV4 is heating up, I have some Pink Star all ground up, fresh home made lentil soup is on the stove almost ready for lunch and my re-up should be delivered this afternoon!!

Hey guys. I just received my rdk 300 with my v4. It doesn't seem to heat up very fast. When I bump it up to 650 f on the rdk the coil reads like 150 f on my IR thermometer. I bumped it up to like 850 for a minute and coil read like 200. Not getting thick clouds at all. Do I need to heat it up for a while? How long is it supposed to take to heat up to temp?

What's weird is that when the rdk reads like 900(i tried it) the outer bit of the coil reads not even 300. What am I doing wrong?

Intersting. @lazylathe most likely will have more of an educated answer, but will say that im using mine with the High5 controller / coil and running it around 775 or so.

Heat up time is around 5 or 7 minutes.

I've never tested the temps with any type of IR thermometer, but I've noticed I do have to change the temperature on my High5 controller depending on the room. Cooler rooms need a higher heat setting.

Something is definitely wrong here.
At 900 the coil should be a dull red color and pumping heat off it.
I ma not sure what settings are in the unit but you may need to read the manual and adjust some settings.

Hopefully @Dubmonkey can help since he used the same controller?

Thanks, there isnt much to mess with settings, though. There's just the knob and the on button. I'll try I'm about to try it some more.

Also, thanks @MileHighHuman

Edit: I totally messed up the formatting of that post. Sorry, I'm pretty new to this site.

Read the manual bro...
You have to enter the settings menu in order to access the settings and change them.

Am I missing something? What I read was a 1 page instruction manual and the most it talks about settings is turning on/off and changing temperature.

Any updates?
Are you rocking the SV4 now?
Hope you got it working so that it satisfies you!

I fixed the settings I think. It seems to be doing a lot better. Seems to doing alright. I don't use it enough to get it down definitely. It takes too long to start up to use every day. Will have to keep it to weekends.

Nice!
I turn mine on in the morning and off when I head off for bed. It is on for at least 8 hours a day, every day, always ready for an instant full extraction hit.

Oh that's cool. Didn't think that would be okay. What temps do you use? And what do you put it on to prevent it from melting stuff.

Depending on the herb I am using the temps can be anywhere from 300 to 320C.
That is 572F to 608F.
With these temps I get instant extraction with very dense and flavorful vapor.

I use this part from another vape I own:

You could also use a heavy shot glass or anything heavy with a narrow opening to fit the SV4 tube.
If you have a dollar store near you just go look in their glass section and pick up something super cheap and effective!

Is taht stand not a bit wobbly especially bc of the pressure of the coil cable? I had a similar on for my Herbo Ti but it tended to tip over pretty fast bc of that. Now I'm using the new Herborizer stand with its heavy ss base. Stands like a rock!

Not in the least bit wobbly!
The SV4 is extremely lightweight and the High5 coil I am using has a nice light cable. The coil is secured inside the SV4 so absolutely zero pressure anywhere.

Still my Daily Driver after all this time!
Many new vapes have come and gone due to various reasons. The main one being it has to be able to keep up with my SV4. I soon realized this was not going to happen any time soon...
So each vape gets it's own appreciation and I try not to compare them to the king!

Huge clouds, amazing flavor, full extraction and 100% convection.
There is just something unique about the way the air is heated...

I have the BASIC one if that makes a difference...
The red/black wire are generally the TC +/- ... are you sure the 2 white wires aren't power? I've more often then not seen the 2 same coloured wires be the AC power and the red/black be the TC +/- and then the ground being the odd one out (green/yellow/etc)

(just happened upon this as I navigated to this thread to read/like your most recent post @lazylathe :) ... and this just occurred to me ... makes more sense then your High5 unit not being wired the same as all the others I've seen!)

Once I have moved I will open up the XLR and take a pic and show you how mine is wired.

EDIT: For some reason the coil mine shipped with was a bent arm desing, not what I ordered but I bent the arm a bit and it is actually quite comfortable to use. The flat coil is also very thin, about half the thickness of other coils I have seen, so that may be it?

Real good luck with that bro, hope it all goes swimmingly smoothly. You tripped me out actually the other day when I saw your post about the move going ahead...for a moment, and bear in mind that my sense of time passing has been a bit sketchy lately, I thought you were moving AGAIN, immediately after, in true Biohacker style lol!!

And Im sure I would agree with you on the SV4 and your particular mod Lazy. I dont doubt a word of what you say. Buy I guess I will never have the chance to find out haha until Jcat gets the blueprints and builds me a titanium version.

So meanwhile, I just have to settle for the Herbo. Not too bad, and it is nice to help Seb out by informing the still unaware masses that Herborizer even exists! (And C'mon, Seb is a MUCH nicer guy than Ed, so a big part of me feels better about championing his devices.) ;)

Good luck moving I can't wait to hear you are settled.

I also have the bent coil ... (and a straight one ... I've had multiple bent ones and multiple straight ones ... all wired the same :) )
