The Plug-In Supreme Vaporizer

Mister G

Deceptively Old Fart
The "TapDatAsh" silicone tray also works well as a multi-function Supreme 4 stand...

I'm so glad my SV4 experience has been plug and play as opposed to some of the other reports. Same great Supreme vapor right out of the box on the first try.

Strangely, I've left the whole condom on the shaft for the entire time with no noticeable ill effect on performance. I'll have to circumcise it before it's time to replace and see what the difference is like. Right now it's au naturel whereas I see other's units have gotten poodle cuts.

I know everyone is in their labs doing extensive research, but can we please get some more document results? Videos welcome :brow::rolleyes:

I will get back to the SV4 in a few days to a weeks time again!
Taking a break as it was solid SV4 use... I was also running low on herb and brought out the GS for serious micro dosing.

I will post some videos of it in use in different configurations!
It really is very easy to use with the correct equipment. I like using my own trusted and used daily equipment.

Back to the SV4...LOL!! Yes, it is that good!
It is right up at the top of my heavy hitters and it's high is intense
The first hit of the day is usually the best and then you sometimes chase that feeling all night for naught.
Well this little guy blast through that, every time for me!

I wanted to test something tonight!
I was using a lower temp with faster pulls and always got nice tan ABV.
Decided to do a slow pull and there was more milk, better flavor and slightly darker tan ABV!
Since then i have gone from 585F to 615F on my PID, this relates to around 230C at the SV3 temp probe site.
With the faster draw, the stem temp dropped around 6C, not a great amount at that temp but it is still not a consistent hit.
With the slower draw, the stem temp drops by 2C only!
I am convinced that you need a perfectly stable stream of air passing through the herb for every hit for the best hit! Now to put some ideas on paper!

Also doing videos is hard with this thing! 3 0,05g loads and i am done...
Good old Gorilla Glue #4 to the rescue!

Hey bro can you go over how you added your own coil and pid to the supreme...thinking about getting the base unit and buying a separate coil...can i use the PID from the FP??

Has anyone tried the Flower Pot handle on the SV4 yet?
Looks like it might work.

enail-handle.jpg

It would work as it is meant for the same purpose. Not sure about the different coil handle designs and sizes though...

@hoyo77

Just buy the base unit if you want, although due to different coil thicknesses you may want to get one with the SV4 from Ed. As i mentioned, i needed to add a washer to tighten my coil against the SV4 body.
If you are handy and good with your hands, just buy the unit.
If not, get the coil preinstalled.

Not sure what PID you have so cannot recommend coils. I know the New Vape one has a different connector from a regular XLR.

I have a China controller that i use for my FP SH, Lotus, SV4 and my OG FP.
I had to rewire some coils to work with it but it only takes a minute!

Are you measuring the stem temp w/ an external thermocouple mounted? (just curious ... how you're reading the stem temp on the SV4 ... or did you already mention this earlier in the thread? ... ... not sleeping a ton these days so everything can just blur together ...)

Pumping out the SV3 Mods must be tiring!! LOL!:D
For now i just wired in a glass thermocouple from an old thermometer.
it reads different to the SV3 thermometer by a LOT! So no real help but at least a guide to see if it is stable.
XBH1XcK.jpg

I just wrapped a bit of wire and slipped it under some silicone ALA Sv3!
Not pretty at all but at least i can see what is happening real time!

You guys mock the sv3 thermometer cost but I don't. It's actually a pretty good thermometer, good ones get expensive. A popular cooking one called the thermapen costs a c note. I should compare the values of both now that I think about it!

That's what I figured you had to have done! Something like that at any rate as otherwise I didn't know how you could know the bowl temp :)

I'd be interested to test this one in full convection mode as well on the modded SV3 ... different when you are inserting the stem as inserting the cool stem causes a temp drop before you start your draw.

Guess I'll need to setup my 18/14 reducer w/ a screen and maybe give it a shot :)

I thought it cost $3 on dhgate, but Ed (THE INVENTOR!) charged $30 plus shipping.

Mock this

@JCat

Thanks for posting the user manual in the SV3 Mod thread for my controller!!
I never took the time to check how to change settings and you made it super simple!

I am noticing around a 110C difference between the coil TC and my thermometer TC.
This kind of gives me an idea of vaping temp if i remove the thermometer.
Also gives me a lot of insight into what is going on with your mod and what the temp differential is between the coil and the TC.
A PID temp of 315C gives me a stem reading of 224C.

I am still thinking about what extra mass would do to the equation though!
The Mod is +-50g mass added to the SV3, the SV4 has the extra plate on the side but i would imagine it to weigh around 10g, so still around 40g shy. Not sure what that would do to the whole equation though...

Also wondering what a thicker heat tube would do to it? Even if it is tapered from the bottom of the stem and thickens out at the connecting to the actual body.
I want that heat to be as consistent as possible before it hits my herb.

So many ideas floating around my head...LOL!

@lazylathe

No problem. Glad to help w/ the instructions :) I've been doing my fair share of PID research as of late so thought I'd share some of that knowledge. Those 2 sets of instructions should cover 80%+ of the e-nails out there :)

The Omron E5CC is vastly superior to the Chinese controller, but what the heck ... both are pretty good (by vastly superior I mean it doesn't overshoot on startup, like at all, and recovers quicker and overshoots less ... talking end result of 2-3 degrees in each direction, but you know ... that does matter :) (at least to some of us! lol)

I tried the full convection mode a few times today, and with the modded coil, if I really inhale super, super hard, then I can get it to drop a couple degrees (back stable by the end of draw), and if I abruptly stop my draw, then it will climb 2-3 degrees after I stop ... if I go easy it doesn't move more than a deg. down and doesn't overshoot at all.

To me, the modded coil offers a couple benefits ...

1. the more realistic vaporization temp that one is interested in is displayed instead of the coil's temp
2. when you first insert the stem, the temp drop is quick at the bowl, but not so quick at the coil, so it's more responsive with the thermocouple at the bowl then at the coil (this one doesn't matter in full convection mode as the temp drop when inhaling happens in pretty good equilibrium across the aluminum exchanger and tube)

The thermal mass does (I believe), help enough from the standpoint of temperature equilibrium, but by how much, being that aluminum is such an effective thermal conductor, is difficult to say (it might not be that significant in that it might contribute to heat loss through a heat-sink type effect almost as much as it acts to retain the heat ... I think it still works in favour of heat retention, but by how much I'm not exactly sure--and I don't feel like building a whole bunch more designs of plates to try to find out! lol)

Some more experimenting today with the SV4!
Still using it in full convection mode although i do load up a stem and drop the SV4 onto it as well.

I was using it at anywhere from 205C to 220C measured at the stem.
Results were great, especially at the higher temps! However at 220C it would sometimes make me cough a lot, unpredictable and bothersome!
So i went down in temp further, used to hit my SV3 at 185C stem temp, which is around 200C on the probe i am using on the SV4. Average clouds with awesome flavor, 50% of the way there!
Down further and the flavor improved while clouds thinned...Not what i was looking for.

So backwards we go! Up to 325C on the PID with the stem now up to 238C.
MILK CITY just entered the arena!! Flavor was there but not as much as i normally prefer.
The magic number for me is somewhere between 230C and 235C!
Hanging around 235C for a while and no coughing, sometimes on the verge though but not close.
Terpenes seem stronger too as my nose is crazy itchy all of a sudden.
Effects at 235C are strong, overall body medication, ringing in ears etc...

Could also be the Purple Sherbert...

PROS:
So far this vape has been rock solid and 100% reliable for me.
Fast heat up time is a plus for such a heavy hitter, mine is around 4 minutes.
Ability to do 100% convection loads external to the heat exchanger.
Conduction/convection/radiant heat with the supplied stem.
Can still be heated with a torch in emergencies.
Easy to transport and super simple operation.
Perfect for micro dosing!
Almost zero maintenance!

CONS:
Apparently not compatible with all coils, my coil is very thin and required a stainless steel washer shim to maintain tight contact with the SV4 body.
Stem system is not as easy to use as SV3, although you can easily mod it to be super simple to use.
No actual temp at stem, I would recommend adding one until you find your sweet spot with regards to PID settings and how you like your hits.
I am not a fan of the controller and would go with a well known enail controller box.

Awsome Lazy you really are a pioneer and have a knack for getting the absolute best out of all vapes, I do admire your resourcefulness and clever use of imagintion.

And I am almost out of my special Lazylathe popcorn! I stocked up good and down to my last bag.
I still have a pantry full of @biohacker popcorn! It is good for a few months yet so plenty of time to chow down yet, but am getting a bit hungry.;)

Excellent pro and con summary Lazy, except you forgot to mention the biggest con of all:

The inventor!

So that's where you've been hiding- Cheers bro, I will do that. Im always looking out for your news and updates (in between episodes of "Eastenders"). Do you know that one? Classic miserable british Soap where EVERYBODY is always unhappy and dealing with a major life trauma, perfect for bringing the masses down to a lowly vibrational level, and the masses  it!

Fear not, I havent even caught a glimpse of that show for years. But it is worth knowing about for those rare occasikns when you feeling too happy and it seems like there is no downside to life.

Appreicte the update. Man talk about dragging the heels! Is it really worth it to him to fight you all the way on this? No chance I expect ever of a recognition, or even considertaion of wrong doing.
I hope you get full closure soon enough. Off to the D-Nail thread.

I got my money back, so that's full closure for me (minus return shipping loss $30) and i'll be happy to assist in the fraud investigation, since I was requested to break the controller and take a picture of it for the "fastest refund". I'm just happy to have received my money back and thanks PayPal!!!

I think it definitely means that Ed really wants Biohacker to personally pay for the damaged item, and maybe Paypal think Ed is in the right somehow?:hmm:
Well they both officially wankers so we sure can't put it past them. I hope that justice prevails, it sucks when good guys get screwed over.

But hey, ultimately, it is no big deal. Money lost at worst, just keep being thankful people for so many things each day. So what if we lose a bit of cash here and there? That is the cost of living, and learning.

I would rather be @biohacker , even getting screwed every penny, than Ed who seems to be not acting very nicely. So whatever the outcome, no need to feel at all down about it. Wuite the opposite, often it is a blessing when we are wronged. It somehow elevates us to a purer, freer consciousness.

Good evening all around guys.:)
