Sweet planes on the deck! I am a total geek.
I do believe that is a Blackbird SR-71 on the deck, the Stealth Bomber was a Northrop B-2.
If that is an SR71, and it sure looks like one, I have to wonder how they got it on the deck to begin with. That aircraft can't take off from an aircraft carrier or land on an aircraft carrier. I can only imagine they put it on there somehow with a crane. And I have no idea why they would want to risk that aircraft to put it on a carrier with a crane.

Here's an F117 Nighthawk for my obligatory photo.

Ahh, I see. I didn't know the Intrepid was a museum. If the craft was never intended to fly again, the concern about lifting it with cranes is eliminated. If I'm ever back in New York, I'll have to check it out. I've never seen an aircraft carrier up close, let alone an SR71.

Then again, it appears that the plane on the Intrepid (along with many others) is the A-12 Blackbird rather than the SR-71.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City's Hudson River features over two dozen restored aircraft, including:
  • Fighters: Grumman F-11 Tiger, McDonnell F3H Demon, Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21, North American FJ-2/-3 Fury, Vought F-8 Crusader

World War II aircraft: TBM-3E Avenger

Other aircraft: Lockheed A-12 Blackbird, Skyray, British Airways Concorde, FG-1D Corsair

Space shuttle: Enterprise, the world's first spacecraft

Other exhibits: USS Growler, a guided missile submarine, and a Space Shuttle Pavilion

I do loves me some Chicago winter snow storms, but everything is relative after all. While the last few winters have been quite mild, that is not our history.

Now that I don't have to drive in it every day, I will probably love it even more, if it happens...

I've lived and worked for years in a ski resort in the alps (Haute-Tarentaise) and never cared to pay the extra fees for the covered parking.
When you live at an elevation of 2000m you need to find your car in the lot several times a year...

I don't miss digging that much snow only to find I've cleared the wrong car. Thankfully I've sometimes found my car half-cleared at the side of an empty spot. :D

tbh cars don't last long treated like this...
