The rare superbloom that occurred in 2019 in southern California, United States.
A superbloom is a rare desert botanical phenomenon where an exceptionally large amount of wildflowers whose seeds have lain dormant in the desert soil germinate and blossom at roughly the same time. This occurence is associated to a particularly wet rainy season and some specific conditions are required. The desert must receive rainfall in the autumn, and this rain must penetrate deep into the soil matrix in order to reach a majority of the dormant seeds of flowering plants.
In regard to this photo, the photographer Ryan Resatka mentioned, "No flowers were harmed in the making of this photo, the person is standing in an open path and I'm on the edge of a bend from another."

Yum. Truffles!
Wait. I ain’t no pig!

As Mrk Knofler said, "If you've got a truffle dog, you can go truffling...and you might Get Lucky now and then." (from the song Get Lucky)

The blast which set off air raid alerts across Kyiv was apparently not the reentry of the spent NASA
Solar observation satellite over Kyiv:

"The Department of Defense confirmed that the 660-pound spacecraft re-entered the atmosphere over the Sahara Desert region, at approximately 26 degrees longitude and 21.3 degrees latitude," NASA officials wrote in an update (April 20).

Authorities in the city are now speculating it was a bolide meteor instead. Cheeky.

Perhaps
