Damn my big order just arrived but I got sent a Nibbler G instead of the GN I ordered. DOH!

First impressions of the Omicron Lite.
Build quality on the Omicron Lite is top notch and what I've come to expect from UP tech. For such a small base the Omicron Lite has a nice heft to it and feels good in the hand. This is especially important when paired with the Okeanos as that cart weighs a ton. However, the Omicron Lite base ends up being beefy enough that it doesn't feel too top heavy in my hand. The head has the same great 5 button press on/off safety feature as my new Persei v3 head.
It came with a 3 inch USB charging cable and a nice carrying case. Unsurprisingly the carrying case is built to carry the Omicron Lite, 1 KISS cart, and the charging cable. Unfortunately even with a 3 inch charging cable this makes the carrying case large enough that I don't think I'd want to keep it in the pocket of my pants as I was out and about. My current plan is to just throw the whole assembled Omicron Lite plus cart in my pocket when I'm out and keep the charging cable in my car.
One negative is the choice of mini over micro USB. Mini USB has essentially been a deprecated connector type since 2007. This makes it very rare to see any device using it these days. Among my MP3 player, several cell phones and tablet, the Omicron Lite is the ONLY device using mini USB. This is annoying because if I forget or misplace the 3 inch charging cable that came with the Omicron Lite it is unlikely myself or a friend has a cable on hand that works. Serious bummer when you are on the road, the batteries die and you realize you've forgot your special charging cable.
Another negative is I'm not sure I really like the way the bottom cap must be unscrewed to reveal the mini USB port for charging. While this does function as a dust cap I'm not sure there is much value in that and the cap is small enough that it could be easily misplaced especially while charging in the car. I carry my cell phone around in my pocket all the time with no dust cap on its micro USB port and its never been a problem. Would love to see the next version of the Omicron Lite with a micro USB port that is exposed and flush with the bottom of the base.
As far as carts go I actually still have yet to try the included 3.7v KISS cart. Right now I am still messing with the Okeanos and the KISS Globe. Obviously it would have been cool to get a new Ti KISS cart rather than the legacy one that was included. The Okeanos v2 build quality is amazing. The instruction manual PDF available online is really well written and very easy to understand.
One thing that confuses me is the water deflector dish and water fill height. When my Okeanos came the water deflector dish was not screwed all the way up to the top of the outer air tube. However, reading the instructions it would appear this is how it should be. I did this and the deflector dish now sits very high of course. As the instructions said, I filled water to 1/4 of an inch below the deflector dish but even with gentle draws was getting a lot of water in my mouth. I then refilled just up to the bottom of the U in the UP image printed on the glass (the same way I fill my Nibbler XL). Now there is far too little water although taste is amazing. Way better than the EO cart on my old G-Pen. Going to experiment trial and error style with the water level till I get it right. This part of the instruction manual definitely needs some additional clarification.
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. Despite some minor kinks the Omicron Lite is an amazing vape for the price. For 55$ you get a solid base, KISS cart, carrying case and charging cable. Compare that to 70$ for a G-Pen plus EO cart and no case and I think the choice is a no brainer. With the Omicron Lite you're getting a higher build quality unit with a much more diverse set of carts available for it plus a carrying case for 15$ less. At this price point the Omicron Lite is my new go-to device to recommend to a friend wanting to enter the wonderful world of CO2 oil.
