Here ya go @herbivore21. We do need more video. Here's one of my regular set ups I've developed. I call it the Hookeanos. It satisfies my need for water filtration for my sr71.

It should. I run .7-.9ohm rebuilt kiss carts on my Persei. Won't work with the Iris though.
Haven't been paying attention...time to spend more money

It's a porous ceramic wick. It doesn't directly heat up like the Hercules rod.

I have rebuilt a KISS cart with a Vapin Donut as well
In my experience, the ceramic heater does a great job of getting up to temperature and vaporizing oil. It's even pretty easy to build as the wire is the perfect width apart. Where this setup doesn't work is in the fact that it's designed to be a coil heater. The air channel is designed to come up from underneath the oil-saturated coil and draw air directly across it. With the donut the air channel completely bypasses where the concentrate actually is, and so you draw in air and the concentrate leaks down below the donut and pools up. If the air holes were slits on the sides, and the disc was not a donut but a disc- it might work a little better.
Even when loaded with a solid dab halo, or over .2 of crumble, it never delivers much vapor to my lungs. The only okay hits I ever got with this thing were upside down, rotating it. A true pain in the ass to use.
I've been told by former FC'er Sleepin_in_CA that modifying (grinding very carefully) away at the protrusion in the bottom of the cart will allow the donut to sit more flush the with the bottom and prevent pooling. I may give it a shot some day if I get bored enough, but I'm happy enough with the FC-2000 wicks to just wait for the Triton at this point.

don't get me wrong, i'm dying to get hands on a full persei + herc setup. i shopped around for a few months looking for the very best upgrade to my current vape life possible, and although i say this without having used one, i feel confident that i've found the best. during this period my budget for a new vape got reduced dramatically thanks to my new daughter and life kicking my arse. as i'm almost positive i'll be buying a tube style dna30 ANYWAY, it would be nice if i could still purchase at least the herc i crave so much now, and save up for the persei and ss kit and batteries and core, etc by not buying the ridiculous amount of cheap oil globes and coils i go through at present. it would also be really nice to see the iris v2, the 8, and the flexo appear by that time. the flexo alone would sell me on a persei if it turns out as nice as i expect it to be.

At the risk of being wrong, again....
There are two types of ceramic heating elements out there. One type is essentially a non-conductive ceramic tube, with coiled Nichrome wire inside, with the ends of the tube capped. The leads from the coil go through the cap to attach to the power source. These are often used in space heaters and glasstop stoves.
The other type of ceramic heating element has no wires in it. It is a single piece of conductive ceramic, and the whole element acts as a single resistive device. These kinds of elements are used in high quality soldering irons and other precision industrial equipment.
If G loves me, he used the latter type of ceramic element. @thevaf we use the phrase ceramic here kinda vaguely. My nice Hakko workstation uses a MoSi2 element, my wifes hair dryer uses a BaTi03 element. My Hercules rod smells like teen spirit.

I'm jealous. My Iris died a month or two ago. (god I miss my Iris!
). I don't think there ever was a manual for the v1 Iris.First, 5 taps of the power button to turn on and 5 taps to turn off. Use the + and - buttons to set the output voltage you want. Press and hold the - button to read the current battery level. Press and hold the + button to get a resistance measurement of your attachment. Press the power button when you are ready to vape and the display will show the output in watts. That's all I remember.
I hope you're using this with a 7.4 SR-71! It's a match made in heaven.
Watch out for the bug in the v1 Iris where it blasts out full power for a few seconds when it is turned off. This blast can fry low voltage/low power devices.
