So I'm gonna get my herc out for the first time. Just took it apart and ISO washed everything before first use. However, I have no idea how to get a stable DMM reading on the herc once I reassembled it to check the resistance for proper assembly.
I have two needle type points on my DMM tester that I presumably need to touch onto the centre post and the outer thread on the outside of the Herc when assembled. However, I can't touch these properly to get a reading from my DMM with the pointy metal measurement tips of my DMM.
Am I doing this wrong?

@herbivore21 select resistance 200 that's the horse shoe symbol,
The touch the two leads together to get a reading
The connect the black to the threading and the red to the center pin.

So my 3.7v kiss cart blew last night when my iris head decided it wanted 7.4v instead of 4.0v discharged. Shoulda known better but the 3.7 kiss cranked up a bit is down right awesome. At this point I have it all apart. Removed broken wire and cleaned it all up. After I find out which guage or Ti wire to use where do I run the ends of the wire. One between the rubber grommet and the outer housing, and the other between rubber grommet and the central contact plug? Do I trim them flush with the bottom? Thanks for any help I get with this in advance, you guys

I think that my cup acts as a funnel. It has two tiny holes at the bottom. I think the oil it just distributed to the small piece of coil, and most of it stays near the rod.
You want to try to make sure that the wires are trimmed back enough that they do not make incidental contact. I try to trim them close then push the wire that is between the center post and white bushing in a little with a toothpick so that I can no longer see it. I have not found Ti wire suitable in small enough quantities. For 3.7v, I used 28ga NiChrome 80 wire from http://www.kidneypuncher.com/. For 7.4 HOTKISS I use 32 ga. Also using 7/64" FC-2000 wick from Kidney Puncher. 4 wraps for 3.7v. 5 wraps for 7.4v.

@herbivore21 I can not get the pointy tip of my DMM to touch the spring-loaded positive center pin on the Hercules base, without it slipping and touching the neutral/grounded outer threads. What I do is I remove the Herc's delrin heat-shield and delrin base, and test the resistance using the center post of the stainless steel bottom chamber. If you are still getting fuzzy resistance reading, you have your rod seated wrong.

About .3-.4gm buffer, add additional .2-.3gm.... Play any slayer album backwards... The rest should come naturally! Use 1 coil....
Few people are asking for the non threaded top cap system of the sr 71 also be available for the SR74, in order to do this we decided to upgrade a few things for smoother operation, want to do it all at once.

At first I hated the threaded cap, but I don't even notice it now. Still, I would jump on that upgrade because I do prefer 71 style.

Wow. Just set up the Herc with the 3.7v rod and used it for the first time. Loaded her up with .5g QWISO shatter using one ti coil. Pulsed button for 8 seconds on 2 seconds off 3 times and got epic, incredible tasting clouds.
I found the herc even easier to load than the KISS carts!
I'll have my full review sometime tomorrow, along with some milk vids if we are lucky!
This is without a doubt the best purchase I have made in a long time. Tomorrow I'm gonna whip up another gram of shatter and throw another .5g into the herc and this will be my daily driver, on the SS shorty tube with an 18350.
Taste is incredible, slightly better than using my E-Nano off SS wool (which up until then beat out my ti gr2 nail for taste, convection sure is yummy!).
If I wore a hat; I'd tip it to you, @THC SCIENTIFIC!
