Guess I'll ask for the 3rd time......

Anyone of you guys using more than one Ti Coil in your hercules? or do you just prefer one?

@Mynameismud I have read that you are the master of the 3.7v herc rod. Could I pick your brain as to your thoughts on the herc @ 3.7v? I have spent the day thoroughly going over aspects of the Persei and all the attachments, and the herc seems to be the accessory I am still curious about.

I am not averse to tweaking, just so long as once I find the sweet spot, I can get consistent results. :)

Well thank you. 3.7V herc is by far the tastiest way to use your oil. I have not tried it with the Ti coils (but i can imagine its only better)

It takes a little more work than the 7.4V herc, you need to let it heat up for about 5 seconds before doing anything, then keep heating it and puff on it like a cigar (puff and immediately exhale) a few times until you start seeing vapor, then take a slow deep inhale...

I get the same sized clouds that i get with the white rod, the only difference is it takes a little longer and more work(like i mentioned) but its impossible to burn...its also awesome with the shorty tube and you get surprisingly long life out of one aw 18350...

That being said, it is a pain to use with other people because most of my friends are smokers or dabbers and dont have patience.

Personally, since i got the ti coils and sr74 rod, ive mainly been using that. Just cause you get almost instantaneous huge hits and little to no work or disappointed friends... And i dont really bring the herc out and about much since i got the ti kiss carts...so i dont mind the bigger tube...oh thats another thing, the herc 3.7V and an 18650 is a monster. Lasts nearly forever before you need to charge

Sorry if this wasnt much help, if you have any more questions or concerns feel free...

Vapor > Smoke
So after 3 days of trying to understand how to get the Hercules to perform as its advertise, I am still not confident using this product.

These are my three major concerns/flaws for this product..

1) Maintenance - I realize every vaporizer/cartomizer needs maintenance but every day? That gold spring loaded contact is constantly getting stuck for me meaning I have to take the whole bottom part of the cartomizer apart and soak it in iso.

2) Performance - I have loaded the recommend amount of concentrate in the cart, I power the Persei for about 5 seconds, puffing like a cigar until I see decent vapor being produced and then I go for a slow, long 15-20 second haul until my lungs are full. The problem here is I expected to get a "nail" type hit over these 15-20 seconds that I expected and it just seems like I could get the same results out of the KISS Ti if I went for two 15-20 second hauls back to back.

I have been told its best to let the Hercules cool off a bit after the next use, I don't really get this as no one ever just wants to take one hit and then have to wait 5 minutes to take another? This kind of counters the whole point of getting the Hercules and if you DON'T wait the 5 minutes for it to cool down a ton of product will just melt to the very bottom where that gold spring loaded contact is located making the Hercules non functional. Even if I wait the 5 minutes, after 4-5 sessions that bottom cart is almost 3/4 full with melted concentrate. I have tried using full melts, half melts, dryer honeycomb, same results every time.

3) Hassle to load - With the KISS Ti or Gentleman's Mega V2 it requires next to nothing to load more product, you take off the top mouthpiece or either unscrew it and load. With the Hercules, take off the mouth piece, unscrew the very sticky top safety cap, and reload. I think the accessory THC was talking about would work wonders if you could just pop it on and off or I would recommend getting rid of the Retaining Collars / Screen in the mouth piece and just send a silicone mouth piece and make the mouthpiece itself slide in/out instead of screw in/out.

That being said I wont be giving up on it just yet, My major concern is the product that is melting past the coil, no matter what I do it just seems inevitable.

Any additional feedback would be great. Just to make it clear, this is just feedback, not trying to bash the product or anything :D

Thanks!
After another two days.. I am back and I would like to apologize..

THIS THING IS A BEAST

I am not sure why, but the first 3 days the Hercules was just not producing the vapor I was hoping for, so Saturday night I took the whole thing apart and soaked all parts in ISO over night and started charging the batteries again as soon as I woke up.

Not sure what was hindering the performance but it's working now, it's like it needed to be broken in or something. I also HIGHLY recommend squishing the coil between two coins as it keeps the coil down.

Couple more questions..

1) I was reading that it is possible to overcharge the AW IMR's - Is this true? How long is too long?

2) @THC_Scentific, when will these non-screw on tops be done? Anyone have a mod they're using until these come out?

Thanks again!

1. Only the charger can over charge what you would need is something like a nitecore charger or xtar. These are simply the best chargers currently out. Xtar being the best.

2. What do you mean by non screw on tops?

So after a lot of consideration, I am thinking I should get the Persei, SS Kit, Herc (3.7v and 7.4v rods), a bunch of various replacement batteries (AW IMR 18650 2000mah x 4 and AW IMR 18350 x 6) and I'll pick up a Hammer with the 420 discount for flowers.

This should have me covered for OTG usage across the board :D

Does anyone know what the purpose of the CR321 batteries are, I notice these are 3v. Does anyone have any recommendations on what their favourite battery/attachment combos are?

I mostly use QWISO, I am looking to do a QWET run with some super high end bud soon, but it is generally all QWISO that I have on hand, as well as the occasional high end Moroccan hash (the really difficult to snap blocks of hash *drools*!)

I dont recommend Cr2's for your setup, that was more geared towards the different resistances available for the old original carts. If you are getting a hammer, you might also want to consider a Core pass-through system so your are not reliant on charged batteries

Oops, sorry man I'm talking about this vape when I say the hammer:

I have considered the hammer attachment for the Persei, but don't need it. I don't own any nail/dome setups. I vape concentrates off SS wool using high heat convection. :)

So I take it I have the right idea for batteries then, 18650's at the highest mah available and 18350's?

Also what does the PTFE insulator for the herc SR74 do? I am guessing it lowers how hot the herc gets to touch and prevents any oils from getting stuck to the insulator?

Does the SR74 come with the Adjustable air filter? Are these any good? Do I need to buy one separately.

The Bender uses 18mm female GonG joint.

As for turning the bender upside down on the Persei i would not do it. As for the purchasing the Bender thinking its going to be pocket friendly then it is a wrong choice. The Bender has a learning curve and you would need to practice with it. But one things for sure you would run about 1.5 grams between charges when using AW IMR 18350 batteries.

@druminfected majority of the people use a single coil.
The BENDER is a special device.
It consumes a lot. (no heat control)
STIRRING is your friend!
If you have a surplus of flowers and have time get one.
If your on a fixed income get some thing else for flowers.
I love mine however many may disagree.

I'll agree, it takes about 4x the herb to properly load my bender than most of my other vapes would consider a "load" but I do like the bender. Its not conservative in anyway that I have found so far. I've tried loading less and got vapor, but had to heat longer, stir more to get a decent roast on the herbs. Otherwise, 3/4 to fully loaded, it does work well, esp. with the Core/Hammer top. Definitely a connoisseur device. I'm glad to have it again, as I didn't really give it a full chance the first time I got one, and my herb supply was pretty low then too.

The ptfe thing goes in the bottom adapter part. Im assuming in the sr74 also. I dont know what it does but i know if you dont have it it will short out the herc and/or top...comes with herc but can be lost easily during cleaning...

I believe the sr74 comes with the AAF...i personally dont like it or see any need for it

Hey all! Been loving my Persei setup and just did my first cleaning since I started putting it to daily use. Just did a standard iso bath and everything came out clean with a few exceptions.

My SR74 white rod even after the iso bath the tip of it (the part that comes up into the tank) is still charred black. Using my fingernail I was able to scrape some of the black off but the rest just won't come off. Is this normal?

Also when I removed the white rod and the coil I noticed there was some black crust underneath the coil. I'm assuming this is from running a non-pure wax through the SR74? I typically only use CO2 oils but ran out and used some homemade wax awhile back and I'm wondering if this is from that. A q-tip after the iso bath removed the black crusty bits just fine though.

Thanks for the continued help. Can't wait to get my hands on an Iris! Any idea on release date for that?

I hit the rod with a torch if dry-firing it doesn't clean everything. Not sure what your black crust is...sounds like burnt oil. Do you ever clean the coil, or has oil leaked into the bottom chamber at all?

I will try a dry fire and see what happens.

My guess is the black crust was burnt wax or something. I had never cleaned my coil before just did that for the first time along with all the other parts in an iso bath.

Do you guys typically rotate in fresh coils or clean them periodically? The coil honestly seemed cleaner than most of the other parts which were really gummed up with oil residue at this point. Honestly the part of the SR74 design I really dislike is the screw on top. The threads just get gummed up and then it becomes a real pain in the ass to get off for a refill.

Awesome a dry fire removed almost all the black on the rod.

Thanks for the tip syrupy!

Agreed, absolutely pointless - Just take it out, buy a couple silicone tips instead.

3. Simple open top and load in, none screw top is in the works just like the SR71 so that you can upgrade to that if you wish.
@THC SCIENTIFIC, any clue when this will be available?

im sure they still have the factory designs of the SR71 and can easily fix it by just using the top portion of the SR71 that holds the coil and the steel top cap. This was one of those things that listening to a few users was probably a mistake. Originally it was just an annoyance that when taking apart the SR71, the whole inside portion would unscrew when you just wanted the top cap off. But now they created a bigger issue with the threading that causes the top cap to seal on when the oil gets in the threads. However, I understand that changing this probably means they have to redo the manufacturing line and re-tool a lot of the machines to accommodate since they never produced the SR71 in-house, so time frame on this fix would depend on how much money they are willing to lose with tossing the SR74 top cap design.
