With the look of that sentence, you appear to be doing it right.
Concentrat goes on top of coil.

Guy above me...YES. You can by the "upgrade kit" from W9s website
Upgrade your Hercules SR-71 to the latest and greatest SR-74. This kit inludes the Self Adjusting bottom adapter as well as a self adjusting center post. These two parts reduce the chances of your Hercules SR series of not working.
Requires for you to send in your current 7.4v Rod
@MaxVapor the SR74 is easier for me.Thanks, I had seen that but was wondering about the other changes made like the top cap (screw on instead of press fit). I thought I remember some trade in deal, but it's probably that kit that was referred to.
Ok guys I am trying to get back in the game.
A while ago i purchased a persei from a local shop and had a wonderful experience. I fell away from the persei due to the availability of reasonably priced concentrates diminishing.
I believe i have the older top model and therefore would need a new top if i wanted to purchase and use an sr-74?
No screws on the sr74. The bottom adapter has spring loaded contacts instead if the screws. So that solution is only for the sr71.I don't have the 74 but in the 71 when that happens if you turn the screw on the bottom of your Herc about a half turn counter clockwise it makes better connection. That is IF the 74 has that prob still. You said core. What voltage are you running at? Try 7.4 and leave it there to test. Good luck man
Yes sir! I love taking the herc out with my SS tube. Its so much stealthier. The first few hits require a bit of priming. I find i have to hold the button for about 2-5 seconds without inhaling. Then puff a few time and vapor forms. Then just hold the button down and go! After the first hit you dont really need to preheat, just puff a little before inhaling. Even my newbie friends can get the hang of it (not so much from a cold start though)The Herc 3.7v works but there is a small learning curve. @Mynameismud is the resident 3.7v king as he is able to get clouds on 3.7v.
ok so even tho i didnt buy it from their website and it was probably over a year ago i can still file a ticket and get new ones? Thats awesome if so. I guess it does make sense since it is defective.Put in a ticket and have W9 swap out your Persei top(s).

I'm using 7.4v on core. Woke up to discover my freshly "repaired" less than a year old HP laptop won't boot at all again, so getting pictures posted is going to be a challenge. The ceramic rod is placed as described in SR-71 instructions included, with bottom contact and thin white band of ceramic below compression nut. Ceramic rod contact completely compresses gold spring contact below when assembled. Have to drive to Visalia to help a friend move and will check back when I can. Will try to post pics later, but I'm sure ceramic rod is making contact. If I move it down further it won't screw all the way together, so it's pushing that spring down that transfers current for sure.
The SR74 is kicking my shiny metal ass!
Just got a Persei / Hercules SR-74 combo and loving it so far. I noticed in the user guide that is says don't charge any batteries other than the stock batteries with the supplied charger. Can I get away with charging my AW IMR 18350's or will that cause a meltdown? If not, does anyone have any recommendations on a charger for the 18350's?
i have been. Should i be worried?will the charger that came with the Persei charge the AW IMR 18350's?
Thanks for the link, not a bad price I'll definitely keep it in mind. Is it necessary to get a new charger or will the charger that came with the Persei charge the AW IMR 18350's?
