Hey G, this REALLY sucks!! I just accidentally dropped my Persei/Herc combo, and the Herc bent and the threads on the bottom connector of the Herc completely cracked in half now and almost completely cut it in half!! So now I need a new bottom connector for my Herc!! I must have the worst luck with this stuff!! I can still(barely) get it to screw in and work, but the Herc comes up off the Persei in a slant! But it still hits, so at least I won't have down time with it while I'm waiting on a new bottom connector. Please let me know what to do. Thank u.

Is there any way to check this thing out with the DMM to make sure if it's dead or not?

It makes a bit of a jingly noise when shaken, possibly loose connection?

Sounds like exactly what happened to mine, except I didnt drop it or sit on it. The threading just cleanly broke in half.
Take a pic, file a ticket and G will take care of you! In the meantime use the double-top if you have one, the threads are a little deeper on those and allow you to still use the herc.

G- Since you've rebuilt my bottom connector I've noticed I started having the 'misfire' problem. After some troubleshooting I realized that it had nothing to do with the Hercules and everything to do with the top. Whenever I have the misfire problem (the light will not engage when I push the button, or it is very very dim) I noticed that when I took the Persei top off I could push the white plastic part on the underside up back into its position. This fixes the misfire everytime for me. Just thought I would share for others who are having this problem.

Mine felt warm but didn't glow and second time I tried it didn't even feel warm.

Mine is a purple 5 ohm. It glowed on button press for one second. It cooled for about 20 seconds while I loaded it. Then I took a hit and it died during it. It was a brief hit ...like two seconds, so Idk.

Ah I have a 5omh one here as well that i oxidized last night with a very quick press of the button. By quick, I mean very quick... It seriously almost glows instantly when you press the button. I was a little shocked! I should probably give the 5ohm a shot with some shatter to make sure it works on first rip as well :D

Does your dead KISS cart make any sort of jingle/loose connection sound when its moved around? Mine sounds like it possibly has a loose connection.

So was that a yes we should dry hit the KISS cart a few times to clean? Also what's the best way to load, melt wax into cart or just drop in small BB on top and let it melt itself?

Don't want to bug you boss, but just wondering if I can get an answer in regards to testing the dead KISS cart with a DMM to see if it's dead or if it's a loose connection? I'm not very electrically inclined.

The working one really does have me amazed though, really lucky I ordered two!

ya you can test it, it should read the ohms, if oyu know how to test the resistance then you could test it.

I'm not very electrically inclined, would you be able to explain how to go about doing this?

I'm guessing we are going to have to send them back? Should I be packaging it up and preparing to do so? I just recall them not having a warranty other than DOA/24 hours so I was a little worried. However I know deep down that I shouldn't be, you guys always make it right and then some.

Just wanted to know can we set The Core @ 7.4 volts and use the Iris top to adjust voltage, this way I can use full range of volltages?
Also I can't get my Hammer top to work on the Core w/Herc and white rod @7v, Works great w/blk rod @4v and will even run hammer/Bender @7.4v. Works fine w/regual top or w/Iris but not the Core and Herc (1.4 Ohms). Light flashed tree times, then I checked Herc on batteries good to go,back on the Core nothing just the light no power??
Any ideas?

core goes up to 5 amps max. Thats 6.9v try it with 6.9v and see what it does.

No, same thing, tried 6.9 and worked down to 6.5 still nothing. Works great at 3.9-4v w/blk rod also works w/Bender/Hammer @7v. The Herc works on the reg top @7v just not the Hammer top,??
Can I use my Iris w/The Core and what voltage should I set Core 7.4? I want to be able to use full voltage range down in low 3's and 6's.
