I don't know about the Iris v2 eta but the Core is supposed to ship in 9 days and it should give you the variable voltage feature if you don't mind a corded solution.
Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

The HERCULES SR71 is set so perfectly!
I am thinking to cast it all in resin or epoxy to fix the parts were they are working.
Then they will never fail.
This thing works so well I just want it to keep it in position.
Really the SR71 simply kicks my shiny metal A@@!
With SHATTER this thing will F^CK you up!
The CORE is a must have device!

after spending a day using someones Persei and Hercules, i had to go buy my own.
i charge the 2 short batteries, install them, and screw Herc on top.
The blue switch light goes on and the switch starts smoking. Now unit seems to be burned out.

Bummer. Smoke is a bad thing, sorry. The technical term is "broken". Didn't last long, did it?
First order of business is to send it back, then figure out what in the SR71 kilt it (most likely a short circuit due to the rod from the sounds of things)?
Sorry or the bad luck out of the chute, but you know the goal is worth working for?

the store i bought it from returned my call as soon as they opened today. They will make good so i don't need to deal with shipping.

Hey, @ataxian I hear ya! I'm probably on day 14 since I last assembled my SR71. I've been using it exclusively since then. Maybe 3 or 4 sessions a day. My Solo is getting so lonely!
I just keep dropping chunks of concentrate into the Herc. Flavor seems to be holding up pretty well to.On another note, I just bought a 1/8oz. of "H.G.H. Blue Dream Nug Run" to feed my Herc. It tests out to 87% THC! Beautiful blond color but a crumble instead of shatter.

Hey guys I've got what I believe is the older persei model (It says persei in big letters sideways on the tube not under the button) and want to get a Hercules. I've been reading up and I've noticed all the trouble people have been having with shorts and want to know what the chances of the Hercules shorting out my top are if I am careful with assembly and such.
I'm sorry to hear your having issues. If you are an owner of a Persei and it's still within the first year we will be happy to accommodate you and refurbish your whole unit for free. Including both tops. If you are outside of the first year we can still refurbish your unit to 2013 specs.
Now this being said.
All Perseis leaving our headquarters are now fully up to date.
There are still some out there from stores that have the old stock and we would be happy to replace them if you wish.
That being said the Herc even when put together correctly still have that small chance of the center pin shorting out. Even when a correctly assembled Herc this happens. So the old tops are just no good.
Like we said we will be happy to upgrade, for some it's within warranty for some it's not.

My BLACK and RED PERSEI TOPS are current.
The CHROME one is for CARTS.
I still use the carts!
So I can send in just my old single top and 60$ and it will get replaced with the new 2013 one then I can buy a Hercules? Can I use my double top with one cartridge without damaging it?

I wouldn't chance it and I'm a EE. Give W9 a call (818-849-6133). They may replace it for free (they did mine). If not free, pay what ever they want for the new tops. If you are determined to use the old tops then be very careful during assembly. Crank down the retaining collar holding the heating rod so it cannot move. (Heat makes the rod less secure.) And make sure the little PTFE washers in the bottom assembly are properly in place. Finally, check the resistance of the SR71 with a DMM if at all possible. I have never had a short in my Herc but I've been very, very careful during assembly and checked my results with a DMM.

If your going to pay the service fee mind as well get both tops. Since both will be replaced with one single service fee.
Im confused about that as well. I believe @THC SCIENTIFIC stated they were lowering the persei price but it wouldnt come with the double top anymore and if someone wanted the double top they would have to go through planetvape or vapornation...does that mean purchasing the old persei kits from them until they run out and then no more double tops?

Yes, that's my understanding as well. You need to find existing stock for doubles. OTOH they should still do just fine as long as you don't use them on Bender, SR71 or the other 'big boys' I'd think. The Omicron carts they were designed for should still work as before?
Then again a guy might decide with SR71 around there's no need for double Omicron carts?

Sometimes he ceramic rod is not set in place correctly, I have had this happen and wiggled the rod bit and got it to work.
I would suggest you open up a ticket and grab your back up for now till you get a new hammer rod.
Also does yours say 1200 on the actual hammer rod, maybe they sent you the discontinued 750 by mistake??

I am new to the Persei so please excuse me if this seems simple. I read thru most of the thread but am still confused. I have a Persei chrome and I am getting the Bender to go with it. Do I need to buy the Hammer to get the top? In order to piece these together? Or does the Bender come with everything I need?

The bender should come with all you need.

I use 2 bottom plates to get the right gap and it works very very well, with out the gap it was not producing to my likings.

Just go to the w9tech website and look on the left hand side for the box that says open support ticket, they should get you squared away.
Yeah it seems they have a lot of the hammers that are actually 1200 but not labeled,I would of just sent you a labeled one but maybe it got by unnoticed, happens at times .
you state that your doesn't heat up , so most likely its defective, the 750 or whatever it was still got hot to burn you just not hot enough for bender use.
