I just wanted to say thanks for all of that great information! I'm really, really excited about the SR-71 now!
edit: Just one more question for now: Where can I find the "shorty" on Delta9 and what is it called there? Whoever posted a picture of an SR-71 on a "shorty" - you've inspired me. And I don't usually care what things look like. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about...it's a shorter battery tube for the Persei, but I don't see it on Delta9.
I repeated this post from earlier. It seems no one saw it then (or no one had an answer), so I thought I'd try one more time.
i bowled a few games today with the shorty comfortably in my jean pocket. If you're looking to make your persei more discreet, id pick up a shorty kit. Whats pretty awesome about it, is that its kinda like getting another persei for a way cheaper price. And if you get another top down the line, say an iris top, or hammer top, you can actually set up three persei's at the same time, just as long as you've got enough batteries for them. Also, ive taken to hooking up the longer ss kit tube and the original persei tube together and throwing in two of the longer (18650's) batts in for a more powerful persei. ( Ive seen that Bob Loblaw does the same thing with his in one of his sr-71 videos). I personally would put the SS kit as the very next best purchase you could make aside from the actual persei itself, followed by the nibblerx and the Hercules; the water cooling is a must for me.
This may not be the case for you, as i think ive read that you haven't taken to well to the cartridges, and have turned to the hercules, which im sure will make a believer out of you. In your position i might contemplate on getting the nibblerXL before anything else, as the herc V1 has the potential to test even those with iron lungs. Also ive found that the nibblerx helps produce a better tasting hit. The best tasting hits i got were when i rigged my nibblerx onto the herc v1.
I cant wait to try the new SR-71 with the new nibblerXL which is designed specifically for the sr-71. Its going to blow me away i bet. I also found that the nibbler and 2.4ohm'er combo gave some pretty good tasting hits as well.
I just got my box from Bob Loblaw today, and was psyched to see that he threw in a box of 3.0ohm'ers. Never thought id be trying these carts as i didnt have the 6.0v batts for them, but with the IRIS, its for certain. Just waiting on my batts to charge.
what voltage/cart combinations do you guys recommend with the IRIS?
