Me too I remembered late last night that the next day was the day advised to ship my old Hercules, so off it went today! I never tried using oils on it so I look forward to finally trying it out! When people finally get the SR-71, please post when you get yours, ill do the same!

It's also worth mentioning that if you use the "More Options....." key rather than "Post Reply" you can see what it's going to look like......and edit more or cancel out if it's not right.

The herc v1 actually did have a .2 buffer zone, atleast thats what you guys told me when i first tried it and put in less and got no results until i went and put in more. In the videos ive seen, bob loblaw appears to be putting more than .2? so this might still be an open question... "does the oil coils emiminate this buffer zone?" We know that anything past .5 will be instantly vaporized but is there a minimum amount required?

The HERCULES V1 I have been using since it was released.
Pulling out the tanks and loading with denser materials produced large thick vapor clouds.
I used a water path set up. The new NIBBLER is the ticket. My stuff is primitive in comparison.
However the TANKS did gobble up the lower viscosity concentrates.
With the COIL replacement and some modifications to the V2 or better known as the SR71 we will be able to use are various concentrates with more effectiveness.

Bob's video gives me encouragement!

Since the coils surround the hammer rod as opposed to the tanks that just lie on the tip of the hammer and must drip the oil down on to it, im thinking the coils might have less of a buffer zone because of its design in that its receiving more even heating and the oil doesnt have to travel like with the tanks; its already where it needs to be to be vaporized. So maybe the question should be, does the sr-71 have less of a buffer zone with the coils than with the tanks? and how much less?

on another note, i accidentally clicked out of this page in the middle of this post and closed my browser, but when i came back thinking id have to rewrite my post, i found that the post was saved. thats a pretty cool new feature of the forum for us that like to post long and tedious messages.

Unless your tanks are radically different from mine, this is not correct. Mine definitely have a deep well in the bottom the heater rod sticks into full length. The sintered metal is not designed to drip anything I believe, but rather absorb and evaporate the concentrate from within it's bulk (much like the porous ceramic in TV products)....hence the vent in the top of the can.

The Hercules SR 71 will work with any type of extract, Water Extracts all the way to solvents and anything in between.

Even with dirty extracts if you can get the button control down you will vape off the needed compounds and leave behind the trash.

It simply is built for extract vaporization.

it would appear so, because my tanks were always hanging. Let me back up though, i was more than likely exaggerating that they lay on the tip my hercs hammer rod being that its been in storage for awhile so i wasnt drawing from a fresh memory, but i do remember that they were definitely hanging - all three of my tanks - This made for a messy process.
So i've cut a bit of wire enough to flush the top of the well inside the tank where the hammer would go. It was right at a quarter inch. If you could do the same we could compare and see just how much the tanks differ.

Thanks for explaining the funcionality of the tanks, i always just thought the oil was getting dripped onto the hot hammer rod.

Guys we have an issue with Hercules we have to push it back, one of the parts are causing an issue and we can do a fix in office but we rather do it right.

This is what we can do right now.

Do a in house temporary fix, and then send out new parts later,


or we delay the Hercs until new parts are made.


What do you guys want to do ?

Hi G - my vote is for option #1, as long the "fix" is a good one (but you wouldn't offer it to us if it weren't, so yes - option #1). Thanks for giving us a vote!

If it isn't too large, then my vote is to wait. Don't see costing Delta9 a retro-fit plan if it isn't a long wait. Shit happens and we are working together

It's not a retrofit issue it's just adding something to the unit to control air flow with each different concentrate styles.
