Wow, what an interesting read this has been! I can't say I read every single one of the 419+ posts in this thread, but I've read enough to convince me that THC-S is a company that inspires extremely strong reactions in its customer base, ranging from "greatest thing to sliced bread" to "the most frustrating thing ever". And this is often expressed by the SAME customer!
This guy, "G", who seems to be the HMFIC over at THC-S is also a piece of work. He seems to be part mad scientist and part azzhat! (The company would be smart to let him invent and vape all day and let someone with some people/marketing experience deal with the public!) BTW, I've been accused of being a "mad scientist/azzhat" myself, so I'm most definitely NOT putting "G" down!
As for the customers themselves, it seems that once the relatively steep learning curve is surmounted, this thing is a beast and, for the most part, works like a champ. Look, let's all be honest here. Even effn' JOINTS give people trouble from time to time (can you say "runner"?) so I don't fault anything for not working perfectly 100% of the time.
As I've posted elsewhere, I just pulled the trigger on a Dabbler. This will be my first true pen vape. Currently, I own a MFLB, an Herbalaire 2.1, and an original iolite. I also own a variety of the "cartridge style" ecigs which are popular here in SoCal. Most of them just vape a solution of CO2 extract or BHO dissolved in PG. Nice but weak. I've been medicating since the late 70's, so naturally the PG isn't going to have the same effect on a "hard head" like me vs. Mr. or Ms. Noobee.
I expect my Dabbler to arrive before the weekend and I have some nice Pineapple Kush CO2 wax waiting for it (also plan to pick up a few other things, time permitting, but at least of the Kush!) I figure this will give me a good "baseline" to work with, comparing everything to my standard Ti nail and dome rig.
The Persei and the Cera are next on my radar. I'm learning everything I can about them. Of course, I'd love to actually TRY either or both of the units, but save doing that, reading what everyone here has to say and watching YT videos is the next best thing. Concentrates are most important to me. These days, that's 90%+ of what I medicate with. Flowers, not so much, though certainly that would be a nice bonus. Oh, I love Pure Gold as well, so I'm looking forward to trying that. I've found that just squirting it into a Sapphire carto works like a champ.
Just FYI, I saw a young dude drawing on a Persei sitting outside my Vons supermarket the other day. I almost went up and talked to him, but decided that I didn't want to freak him out and ruin his high (assuming he was vaping THC and not nicotine
For now, I'm going to watch the developments of both the Persei and the Cera. Must admit I'm leaning toward the Persei, but ultimately, the one which tastes and performs the best will get my vote. I should add that it should work like a auto-reloading Ti nail. It should hold a gram or so and each hit should be like a fresh dab. THAT is the ultimate. And it SHOULD be as "brain dead" as doing a dab using a glass dabber, a torch, and a nail. Just heat that mofo up, drop yer globe on, dab, and SUUUUUCK. Why do vapes always have to have a "learning curve"? Christ, we've got microprocessors that can feedback loop ANYthing, it's just not acceptable in today's age to have a $500.00 product (Cera Ti, hello) that requires the user to climb a steep learning curve.
OK, end of rant!
