I'm unsure if any o-rings are able to handle that stuff.

You might want to rethink this. I recall in the early days, someone taped a newspaper story to the company lunch room one of a fellow making 'hot buttered rums' in his. Sucker blew up big time. Made a big old mess. Seems the vapors collected enough and a spark of some sort touched it off. He was elsewhere, but it'd be a buzz kill of the first order if opening the door and the light turning on sparked it off......

Perhaps warming some in a jar in a pan of hot water? No cap, of course.

Yes as OF said PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! You are creating a bomb that will eventually blow up! Just a second or two too long and you are asking for trouble.

My method to do warm ISO soaks is put my piece to be cleaned into a ziploc bag with the ISO(close the bag)and dip the whole thing into hot water from the sink. Works wonders. Simply give a couple light shakes once it warms up and any oil or reclaim just melts right off!
Then you can pour the ISO into a dish to be evaporated and recollect the oily goodness if you want.

Edit: To clean water pipes and such I just put some ISO into the piece, cover the downstem hole with my finger and run under hot water for a few seconds. Give a couple shakes and watch the oil melt off!

I use my 2.4 carts for WAXES.
I want to have the same brand of vaporizer to do my concentrates.
So far the DELTA 9 products work really well.
I don't do EJUICE however if the PURE GOLD will work in them why not get one?

As I said G has advised against using those for Pure Gold or any concentrates for that matter.
If you want to try it, it is your freedom to do as you wish, but G has advised against it for a reason I'm sure.

Testing is either started or about to start for the 1701 carts which is the leak proof cart. It would be my advise and probably others advice as well that you just hold out for those to come out. I think G mentioned they are scheduled for mid to late January to be available?

the small SS will work w/ the 3.7 the larger SS will work w/ both depending on battery size and config

Iike his personal mission to make a leak proof PG cart and I am sure if it was feasible to do with one of his own products he would know this.....but please continue to share your input. The hive mind is what makes FC such a great place

Bob, have you been able to keep your Herc clean of oil seepage or are you having the same problem as Organic Mind and myself? No matter what I do, oil seems to get to the base of the Hammer.

Edit: Also, have you been using it as a nail cart or have you been using it more like a regular Omicron cart?

My second question is with using herbs, do I just drop them down into the chamber piece on the left in the photo? Won't inhaling cause the herbs to get stuck on the ceramic tip in the middle? Or do I put the oil cartridge back in empty so that doesn't happen?

for you first question, yes thats whats advised , either way new teflon outer heat shields are gonna be replacing the derlin one's
seconds question is yes, take the tank out to hit herbs , mouth piece has built in screen!!
herb will not stick to the rod rather to the inner chamber once sticky and resiny

For your first question, yes, you want to boil the unit on the left AS WELL AS YOUR TANKS! Everything else gets an iso wiping. Also, don't forget to dry fire it for 30 seconds several times to break it in.

For your second question, yes, you just drop the herb ontop of the cermaic. No need for the tanks to be in there when using it for herbs. You can, however, put a tank of oil in on top of the herbs which will allow you to VAPE oil and COMBUST herb at the same time.

Other than getting burned, herc gets really hot, i think the heat shield also helps retain heat for maximum vaping of oils !!!!

You can run the ceramic rod red hot for 20 seconds or more and it will burn most off, but no it wont ruin it,Herc is built tough lol

Not necessarily. You can vaporize herb by itself by being extremely gentle on the button. When vaping oil, herb is forced to combust due to the higher temps needed for the oil to vaporize.

yes to the seepage, thankfully for myself oil is abundant. for example, i cleaned mine yesterday (short soak in iso, followed by short water boil) after all water evapped my base weighed 9.67. i dry fired it at full heat for a few minutes. got some major plumes for a minute or so. reweighed and it was 9.49.
so oil is getting into the base. gotta be sealed for the new teflon versions.

i would also boil the steel tanks.

as to second question, it is meant to be used w/ out tank inside. herb will come in contact w/ ceramic rod. power control for heat (until we get our damn irises! lol)

yes tanks are the same. just changes the airflow path a little.

Yeah, the seepage is a serious pain in the ass. Definitely needs to be dealt with somehow because it truly sucks having oil on my tanks when I take them out. One thing I intend to start doing is pre-loading a few tanks at a time so that I can just switch one right out after hitting. That way I won't have to worry about cleaning a sticky hot sticky tank after every hit.

Also, I don't know if you saw my second question but are you using the Herc as more of a one-hit nail cart or more like a traditional Omicron cart?
