Thanks Oldie, I do appreciate when others seem to get good info from some of the perspctives I have on various vapes. I always try to compare and contrast, and find other negatives and positives in tje mall details.

After pushing, both the manufacturer (BMI) and the re-seller (HBG) stepped up to deliver great customer service. I ended working with BMI who sent me a replacement unit which arrived today.

Took an extra 10 days, but I have a working Oracle and so far I'm very happy. It is as fast as I had hoped for, just turn it on and grab the bag a minute later. Super simple. I like the look since without the glass it almost looks like a stereo or computer component.

I'll probably start to look for a way to attach just a whip for short quick sessions.

Is anyone else having the herb get pulled up into the screen in the stack and get stuck unless you force it out. Also her is getting stuck up towards the top of the biomass bowl while filling bags, this seems to make it the bowl does not fill bags as well as it should. Anyone else having this issue any advice?

I'm having the same problem, herb gets pushed to the top and the whole stack starts to lift out. I cleaned my screens and it helped out somewhat. I think they get clogged and dont let the vapor thru Im also having an issue with my temperature. Sometimes it works great but lately i have had the dial turned to the max and still doesnt seem to cause vapor. Also i changed my bag and it leaks a little when it gets full, anyone have advice for that? I wish they would sell a bag where the end was sealed and not closed with a zip tie.Damn im thinking maybe I should have waited for the cloud???:/

If you want a closed end bag get Reynolds turkey bags they are sealed on one end and open on the other.

Does it taste like plastic though?
No it is food grade plastic it is the same material as the Oracle bag kits. Just cheaper and available at your local grocery store. The Air looks sick I have given up hope that it is going to be released anytime soon considering this was posted going on 24 months ago now. "We are very proud to announce the upcoming release of our first entry into the vaporization market, the VapeXhale Cloud. Feb 10 2010"

Presumably by "Air" you meant "Cloud".

May I humbly suggest egg on face? :) Check the Cloud thread.

Okay I am about to ask the Oracle for guidance. It sounds like it will lead me to the right path :ko:

Is everything still groovy with this vape. No explosions or any safety concerns.

How long is one suggested to rely on such a contraption. Warranty length? Do we need to eventually replace these mystical light vaporization bulbs.

Is vapenation the spot to get it from? The company store seems to be non-existent.

I still need one sometime soon, Oracle, VXC and Solo would get me thru anything the Supreme and MFLB and Epic would still be there for nitch situations.

I don't know why you'd turn it up that high. Bad idea. It's not like it's a whip vape and you can draw extra hard to lower the temp. What does the herb look like after you empty it? If it hasn't changed from green to brown then you didn't get heat. If it did, then you've got heat.

it leaks a little when it gets full
Then don't fill it so full that the air pressure forces a leak. Making a good bag is up to the user. With a glass connector you'd be throwing away big bucks with disposable bags. I'd take the top of the bag, twist it and fold it over, then put a tie on it. You're more likely to get a leak at the bottom, around the glass, so just stop filling before the pressure forces a leak. You can always reload a bag to get the rest of the bowl vaped.

Have been using my Oracle every other day for nearly a year now, works the same as it was new. I still prefer it to my Volcano Classic.

If I had to choose 2 chief pluses/minuses they would be:
+ excellent vapor quality, no burnt taste really at all unless you like blacken the herb
+ simple design with good accessories
- warm up times not quite as advertised, always takes at least a minute for me
- I wish the bowl was wide enough to fit a finger in, and maybe not quite as deep

I actually wonder if my heating element is halfway broken or something. Are there 2 bulbs? How can I tell if something is busted? I had loose ceramics and a sticker sitting in my chamber when I first purchased it. It is supposed to take less than 10 seconds to get vapor, but it is always 60+ seconds for me on a new bowl and 30+ seconds for 2nd/3rd bags.

Ok, So I've just finished reading this thread all the way through. I vape multiple times every day, right now all I have is my Solo (which I love). Ever since first hearing about the Oracle it has seemed to be the perfect vaporizer! I'd like to put my remaining concerns on the table and I'd like to see what the Oracle rep has to say about them. (not that other replies aren't welcome of course!)

1. For a $500 machine using the best components, a 1 year warranty seems unacceptable. What is the lifetime of the product? I think that for that much money it should have a lifetime warranty.

2. I think keeping the airflow constant and using the bag / whip combo is brilliant and the addition of the automatic stir feature sounds too good to be true! However I'm a little concerned after hearing reviews detailing how the stirring action actually works. Is the herb effectively churning in the bowl or not?

3. So this is a small concern, but when you're using the bag whip combo, can you regulate the flow speed of vapor through the whip? It seems like because the whip is connected to the bag, you don't have to keep up with the speed of the Oracle's pump. Am I correct on this?

4. It will be a while before I have enough money to buy this vaporizer, but are newer models expected with significant changes to the design or features? I just don't want to spend $500 and then see an all digital temp control or some other advance a month later.

5. Even with these concerns I'm 99% convinced that this should be my next vaporizer on account of the fact that it has the best materials and the best design that I have ever seen. That leaves me with one final question: Where should I buy it? (I live in Wisconsin). It looks like prices are the same almost everywhere, and both vapornation and the manufacturer offer FC discounts.

1. It's not $500. You can get it with FC member discount for under $420. "I think that for that much money it should have a lifetime warranty." So the more it costs, the longer the warranty should be? Sorry but it doesn't work like that. If a long warranty is your priority, you'll have to look elsewhere.
2. All the good bag fill systems (Volcano, herbalAire, Extreme, Oracle) have no need for stirring. That's more of a concern with whip vapes. The cached bowls from my Oracle have always been uniformly vaped, just as with my herbalAire, which not only gets no stirring, but is designed to use chunks/pieces, and not ground herb. Uneven heating or stirring is the last thing you need to worry about with bag fill.
3. The vapor flow is constant. You're just tapping into that vapor stream with direct draw. Suck at your own speed.
4. If they had both an analog and a digital model, I'd buy the analog. Since bag fill, by design, is always at a consistent temp, digital really isn't much of an "advance". And initially, the Volcano Digit had a 2 yr. warranty, vs. 3 for the Classic. That shows how little confidence Storz & Bickel had in digitial technology.

I don't know what discount the manufacturer is offering, but they'd probably be shipping from Canada. You can get it from Vapornation for $418 and change, w/free shipping.

I am glad to say that we do in fact have a second version Oracle coming to store shelves within the next few months. Some of the significant changes include; sturdier interior build, easier to replace damaged heating elements and a removable 19/22 female joint attached to the heating chamber.

All of these changes are meant to increase long term reliability and prevent unnecessary warranty trips to our warehouse for simple glass fixes.

We will be setting up a form for pre-orders shortly which includes a special bonus gift and a discount for all FC members.

Cheers!

Any word on when the pre-orders will be available for the new unit? I was thinking about purchasing one of the first units. I figured it would be worth it to wait for the next version. Is the pricing going to be the same?

Ah yes. I knew you'd be back with great news. Looking forward to further updates, and a future purchase.

Buyer beware: BMInnovators is no longer responding to phone or email. I had to return mine for warranty service and they were not there to receive it so I just threw good money after bad to have UPS return it to me.

Also, I have wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I have had no end of problems with this. The first one I received was DOA. The second was damaged due to insufficient packaging. The third arrived DOA, so I opened it up and fixed the bad connection to the air pump. Fast forward six months, the air pump fails again and it is not the bad connection so I request warranty service. Fast forward and here I am waiting for a $500 + shipping waste of time and money.

I can only assume they have shuttered the business, which is surprising considering the recent announcement of a new and improved Oracle. The thing that pisses me off is that if they are closing the business then they've got to have spare stock around so why not just send me a replacement?

That said, the vaporizer is great when it works.

EDIT: grammar

Have you emailed bagdan.masala@bminnovators.com
That is where I have gotten responses in the past and had service successfully done. Question for other Oracle owners. Does your oracle fill a bag get rather hot then not turn on for 45 minutes or more? Mine seems to do this after filling a single bag nearly every time.

Yeah, I've tried emailing and phone and UPS tried calling as well. The office number goes straight to voicemail, and the mobile number in his email signature seems to be someone else. It has been in Canada for over a week and UPS have tried to make delivery multiple times. I'm so pissed at myself for not just getting a volcano in the first place. Money down the drain...

I wonder what happened to the company. Their communication has dropped off. I was interested in picking up the new unit to test/review. I almost picked up the old unit, but then I saw that the new one was coming out soon. Before I purchased I was a little worried because it looked like they did not post much around the net. Their facebook, youtube, and website, all have not been updated in a long time.

Slightly Medicated,
Yeah so I loved my oracle and it when it worked it was amazing....

I have been delaying sending my oracle in (its just so smooth), the pump is failing (it has been taking longer and longer to fill a bag, now over 10minutes!) Previously I had been having heating issues with it but found some debris in the chamber (looks like epoxy/glass used to seal the chamber)

Buyer beware: BMInnovators is no longer responding to phone or email.
In any case I have also been trying to get in contact with them this past week and have had no response.

I'm so pissed at myself for not just getting a volcano in the first place.
I feel the same way right now.

Well I just received my Oracle COD from Canada. Meaning, they weren't there or they refused delivery. Either way it's the same: BMI is refusing to honor their warranty and Bogdan is patently dishonest. Also be aware that they have provided false contact information as the mobile # on Bogdan's email sig is a wrong number.

The only thing I can find that might point to him is his LinkedIn profile. I suggest everyone with an Oracle add him to your network. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/bogdan-masala/33/698/356

IIRC you purchased from vapornation (?). What does the retailer have to say? (It may be of note that vapornation still shows the Oracle in stock for sale at its online store; planetvape and halfbakedgoods have it in their product catalogs but show it as "out of stock".)

IIRC you also posted earlier your having wished you had gone with a Volcano and may now feel compelled to do so (?). Just fwiw, have you considered a very good bag machine like the HA or Q which is only 1/3 of the Volcano price and then using the remainder for an excellent direct draw machine like the new Cloud (assuming you can still get it at the pre-order price)?
