What's the verdict on ERR 004? Seeing VapeCritic's new video has me worried a bit. I was vaping last night and it flashed for a second. Is it cause for conern, indicating that something is wrong with the unit? I have noticed that the battery indicator is a bit misrepresentative at times. I shot S&B an email Friday explaining the issue, but have heard that their customer service level has dropped in the last few years, and people are experiencing slow replies. Can anyone attest to their experience with s&b regarding mighty/crafty and ERR 004?
edit: seems like a lot of people are having this problem here's the vape critics video if anyones interested:
Thanks for the video. I should add I am just about to receive a replacement for my Mighty which err004'd on me the first time I used it as has many times since. The battery display has had many issues too and it also didn't work while charging.
I emailed S & B about the issue providing very specific information about the issues and detailed usage information. I got an email back after days/a week suggesting that they know of the issues and to await a response to the issue very soon. I received the response within a few days of that email saying I need to send my device to them in fucking Germany at my own expense (swearing warranted when you see shipping prices!) to get a repair/modification which will fix the issues.
I said that since this is a known issue rendering their product not to operate as described - or at all sporadically - that I felt very disappointed to have to pay 25-100 bucks plus wait a week each way (with express shipping, which was MEGA $$$$$, way longer of a wait with other kinds of shipping and not necessarily any tracking) to ship my Mighty back to Germany after it errored out on me when I first used it after taking it out of the box and meticulously following instructions!
This is in fact illegal according to consumer law in my country. However I am unsure if this law applies to foreign manufacturers when they were not the original point of purchase so I must be clear that I AM NOT ALLEGING ANY BREACH OF ANY LAWS.
Regardless, I gave up on S & B and got satisfaction from my point of purchase - who I suggest all Australians should contact if they have issues. Our consumer laws gives us guaranteed remedy for the issues the Crafty/Mighty have had due to obvious and acknowledged design/manufacture problems.
S & B really need to lift their game here. The new products are epic when they work, there is no doubt and I will sing their praises for this - but give me shitty service for your expensive products and I'll be taking my business elsewhere and stop recommending your products to people.
Please note that I am not complaining that the products are expensive, that is perfectly justified by the performance. However, if you charge for a premium product, you had best provide premium support and after-sales service to your customers.
