That hologram slider part comes off in seconds with little to no risk of breaking it once you have an understanding of its fitment.
Or if it does become an issue, you could leave it on and use the warm cotton mopping method I outlined without harming the hologram in place.
Or you could simply rub iso wipes around everywhere inside maybe warming it slightly first.
The bowl and a brush method was outlined in the owner manual where you put the disassembled CU parts in a bowl of iso and hit them all with the included brush.
Some people felt this was wasteful of iso and inconvenient and so contained the soaking and agitation inside a jar.
You could even have two jars, one for the initial wash and soaking, and a second one for final rinse. The thinking being that when the first jar becomes laden with oils it can be disposed or processed, and the second jar then used to replace the first, further saving iso as much as possible.
It sounded good to me!
I imagine the hologram might be OK in a dishwasher too, but maybe not.
Once you find your method and do it a few times it's like tying your shoelaces, and can be therapeutic and fun haha
And if it did go horribly wrong it's cheap to replace just the unit on top.
This is true.
The list of improvements needed for Mighty 2 would be a very small list!
Can I just add that I think people should be careful when trying this, make sure you have a spare lying around if you are going to try and remove the slider part.
I have been looking for a way to just let it all soak without that sticker coming off in the ISO, I just read this post, tried to remove mine and it snapped !
Granted I am a bit heavy handed at times but Its definitely not as straight forward as you make it sound. I think im going to just keep soaking half and cleaning the other half with Iso on a cotton bud.
