The guy that has it still uses the rubber band, because that is where he sticks his tube.
I am happy with the regular box. When I get a new one, I also will still use the Rubber band, as that is where I stick my stem when I travel also!

Hi,

Thank You! Naturally, as things progress, we remain committed to making improvements and refinements to our manufactured designs wherever possible. The cover lock (a small modification on the lower left corner of the Box face) is something we have been experimenting with internally over the last year or so. Unfortunately, although it was part of the design plan for the Box since the beginning, we have only recently been able to put it into production. While it looks simple and fairly strait-forward, the actual fitting of this functionality requires a fairly extreme level of precision in the tooling. This and other technical issues have delayed the introduction of this last anticipated change for several months. Now that we have solved the last remaining technical problems, it is our hope and expectation that these Cover Lock Box models will be available everywhere fairly soon.

PS: We will continue to include the Box Band on all shipped units as it remains useful as you mention.

Mflb rocks i am currently using it with 3000 Mah batteries.. and getting fast nice vapors.. It's heating twice as fast as with the original batteries.. but its not easy to combust .. just vaporizing goes quicker. The hang is in the shaking .. I am making numerous series small hits till lungful and shaking almost on every hit :)..

Hey folks, I walked into our local 'shop a couple weeks ago and they had a box up for sale. (original model w/ hole in back, full kit in aluminum box w/logo on lid)

Now I have it ;-)... and after a few uses, I am very impressed with this little unit.

My review:

It is very frugal on the bud, a doobie's worth gets me at least 3-4 trenches, and I can feel it pretty good after 2. I have only bought 2 additional things for it, a 1 hour charger w/ 2 spare batt's (Energizer, 2400 mah) and a little leather snap-closure belt pouch that holds the box/2 batt's in case/stem/brush.

Chalk up yet another satisfied launch box owner... ;-)

Peace

It sure is frugal. Very efficient. I like that it's only heating while I'm inhaling. No waste

Just got some new batteries and it has made my box sooooo much more enjoyable. I picked up Duracell 2450 mAh and they work suuuuuper good. One battery lasts me a whole day of vaping! I haven't tried powerex's but these duracells pack a real good punch too!!

everytime I dumpt out a finished trench I meticulously and quickly go to work with the brush, first I brush the larger amount of finer particulates from the shoulders into the ABV jar, then I brush more and blow into it a few times, then I may or may not use a qtip with alcohol to wipe the screen, and then I always insert the battery and make contact for about 10 seconds, then i blow into it a few more times to get that smoke from the screen all out. At that point I am done and my trench looks almost new everytime!

Exact same here. Im so picky about getting EVERY little bit out.

But to new users: dont do what I did a few times, remember to CLOSE YOUR EYES when blowing ABV crumbs out of the trench. The trench can tend to ricochet your ABV back into your eyes. Already red eyes dont need brown specks too

I sometimes... being very careful to keep a respectable distance from the open box and screen... use a little blast from my canned air duster, to get a stubborn speck stuck in a corner.

Very cool. I'll be upgrading to the new version soon, even though I just bought my first MFLB a couple months ago. Glad to see you're going to continue including the band, as I also use it to strap the brush and stem to the box when it's not in use.

Any consideration of the idea of routing a couple of channels in the box where these could live when not in use? Just a thought.

I have had my LB for a year now and I was NOT going to buy a PA because I bought the LB to be only a portable unit to complement my DBV. Well for my 1 year LB anniversary I broke down and bought the PA and received it yesterday. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG ! I have it wired into my truck now and I am just looking for excuses to drive the truck every chance I get. I love this thing. Looking forward to MF next step.
I may need to buy a second LP and PA for the house. (Dont tell my DBV)

I'm thinking about ordering another Launch Box, too. I got my replacement a couple weeks ago but now there's a new model with the cover lock. Ah! What's a guy to do? This reminds me of the commercials about a 3D tv and what not.

And I'm still stuck between SSV and DBV.

Personally I never clean my LB right after heavy usage as I find I do not have great control over the amount of force I put on the screen with the brush, better to wait until the heavy effects have worn off a bit. As hard as I try, very fine motor control is gone and damage to the screen is much more likely. I clean it before the next use and my 1 year old box still looks like new and has never been touched by iso.

Canada post strike!!! No PA for me. Stuck somewhere till a deal is cut. Is there anything MF can do for me? Is there any more info or pics on the MF water adapter?

Hi,

In regards to your first question, not sure. Sending another PA will most likely get stuck in the post in the same way. How much of a delay are you anticipating and what would you recommend as an alternative arrangement?

In regards to the water pipe adapter for the Box, I can happily report that there has been significant progress in that project. They are beautiful as well as functional. We are expecting to start the Beta build next week and will probably be able to offer a limited number of these to the FC membership about two or three weeks thereafter. Pictures as well as instruction will be posted here (first time ever photographed!) sometime in the next 7 or 8 days. Stay tuned!

Not sure of how long the delay will be. The only other option would be sending it through UPS/Fedex...etc. For now I'm fine with using the battery. I'm just anxious to use the PA.

Good to hear the the water pipe adapter is almost ready. Hope I'm one of those limited numbers!! :brow:

am I crazy or can people tell they are getting a good hit using the box in native mode if the vapor "tickles" your teeth. My friend hit the box and mentioned that and now I've noticed it every time since

I long ago lost the included rubber band but I've found that a hair elastic works even better. I use a small size one and it slips over the box perfectly, keeping everything in place and can be rolled off very easily.

On the subject of LB trench maintenance, I am mighty ashamed. My attempt to vape hash went miserably and I have some nice stains now. I really don't clean it much anymore; still it's in pretty good shape!

Its noticeable. For me, its an indication that i need to open my teeth more, so they are not blocking the vapor path. If its stuck on your teeth, its not in your lungs ;)

hello fc - just purchased a mflb and so far...no good! i am barely able to get a vapor from using the vape based on the manufacturers recommendations. i have also searched the site here and tried some tips that i have read and still no luck. the only time i manage to get what seems like vapor is when i actually burn the bud a little bit. here is my process. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! i am looking to produce a medium to thick vapor.

-finely grind bud
-fill trench (not above side of trench)
-inset battery for 3-5 seconds, or until a very small amount of vapor is visible
-slowly draw on vape, either with glass stem or no glass stem - keeping battery in while drawing
-draw for maybe 15-20 seconds, finish and take battery out
-exhale very little to no vapor

i am now reading that i should not expect much vapor with the mflb. i have tried it 3x now. is there a way to produce more/thicker vapor? maybe i should consider another portable vape that can produce thicker vapor, such as the iolite or vapir no2?

thanks fc!

Magic flight posted here a test for the right calibration few times. It is:
-load a trench
-insert battery for a minute
-if herb doesn't going brown after that minute, it's calibrated to be too cold. Then return it and you will get a new one

The NO2 is great!! (but you will not get any thicker vapor from it than from your MFLB.) Same for the Iolite.
It takes some practice, and it is a rare person that masters the MFLB use after only a few trenches.
The volume of vapor should be less of a concern, than if you are getting high. Not all vapor is clearly visible. Please go to Youtube, and watch a few people doing hits with the MFLB.. watch the technique.... there are pages of people here talking about the right way to "hit" the box.
after it is heated (a few seconds), place lips on tube, and do not use you lungs.... just fill your cheeks with vapor (pretend you are filling mouth from a straw with a mouthfull of water.)
see how much vapor you got. To fill lungs with vapor... you can try taking dozens of little micro puffs, inhaling each and then going for the next.
Watching MFLB vids sure helped my technique!

Per the post from Seek, if the LB is capable of burning the mnaterial, then the unit is functioning properly. After that, it's simply perfecting the technique as Vito said.

The vape will be different if the material is moist vs. dry. Try just putting a pinch in the trench and try, rather than filling the trench. This really is simply an issue of learning curve / technique. Once you get the hang of it you can produce as thick a cloud as you want.
