In reference to using the LB in the cold, I have been doing a lot of hunting in cold weather and I keep a small hand warmer in the same pocket as my battery case and I have basically room temp batteries whenever. I keep my LB bag, batt case, and hand warmer together and I get pristine hits right off the back at 15 degrees F outside!

Yeah i took the dog for a walk yesterday and brought my LB and it worked great, took a second or 2 longer to warm up. i only took one battery and it was in my hand the whole time so i dont have any experience trying to keeps batts warm. it was about 15-20 F, ill test it later this winter when it gets to -10 or so. think a hand warmer could overheat the batterys? i know they can get almost too hot to hold sometimes. i have one here that says 135-156 F, but it says it can get hot enough to burn if used incorrectly

Oh wow!

I remember asking about the power adapter many months ago. I am so excited it is finally here!!

Now i only hope MF doesn't reject my order when i finally save up enough money to get some ;)

All i can do is hope!

Very soon, I will have a wide variety of new tins that I can use for my Launch Box, and all the supplies. However, I was placing my Body Shop order, and saw this! Now, I am seriously considering buying this, just to get the tin!

Although, I'd have to wait a while considering it is out of stock. It seems like a lot of the hemp products are running out. :(

How does everyone store their charged batteries? i fucked up a set last night by not being smart...

is it safe to keep them in the charger after they are charged??? [unplugged/power off of course]

The manual from the charger that shipped with my LB says to NOT leave the batteries in an unplugged charger:

"Do not leave batteries in charger for extended periods of time (more than 2 days) OR when the charger is not plugged in. Unplug the charger when not in use."

I store dead batteries on one side of my charger, and charged ones on the other. If I'm storing LSD batteries for an extended period or travel, I use the little plastic battery cases, or rubber caps to keep them from shorting out.

Ah sorry, I thought the asker meant for shorter periods... Of course leaving them in for days is not good.

I just placed my order for the beta power unit. My MFLB has been hibernating the last few months, since my batteries crapped out....I can't wait to try out the beta unit...I will make to post my first impressions as soon as I try it out.

Isn't the LB the bomb???

Even without the adapter the lb sees almost daily use, or at least as much use as my mz. ive been pretty oil exclusive lately, but I need to return to the plant as the oil just isnt as efficient. But damn does it rock me.

Ok, I got this vape probably... I wanna say this spring. Around February. I havn't posted yet on my review. So I will do this now.

This vape is AMAZING. Very small, very compact, very nice, very smooth, very effective. I have 100% control of what I am doing/how i am using this. It is extremely simple and effective. The wood is sturdy and the lid will stay on.

I cannot express how good this vaporizer is. The only thing I need is a rechargeable battery (2 are provided with purchase, as well as the charger).

It is easy to clean and does not keep any smell too much. If you have any doubt on buying this, DONT. It uses no butane, you cant run out. It uses batteries, just keep one charged and u will be fine. It will not break. The company has an EXTREMELY good warranty on it, they are very nice and easy to talk to, will answer any questions you may have.

The first few uses can be unsuccessful, but its very easy to learn (small learning curve, i'd say 5 tries tops for curve).

BTW: I've vaped with this thing probably... 300 times at least. Trust me! THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

hello,
I am considering buying the LB, but ...
arc brazing : with which metal? (for bonding the copper with the screen)
plexiglas cover : Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA); melting point 160C; boiling point 200C !

After the "battery vents" resolved problem, I would like to know if this vape is really safe.

thanks

Just do some research on this thread. All this has been covered by Magic Flight! Sorry don't have time to find it myself and link it.....

pakalolo has done a wonderful job of compiling all the MFLB information in the vaporpedia. Here is the link to the section regarding materials used in the LB:

ok, thank you for the link; but I still have a question about the melting point of the cover.
It is acrylic (Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)); its melting point is 160C (info on wikipedia). The screen temp is 180-200C ! So there must be some gas from the cover.
It would be nice to have the choice between an acrylic cover and a glass cover!

The acrylic cover is too far from the heat source and doesn't even get warm in my experience with the boxes even with heavy use.

Simple answer to convince you; use an IR thermometer or a probe thermometer, stick a battery in there and watch your LB cover not melt and the temperature not rise to anything remotely causing concern.

You want a glass cover? Nah, not on something as small and as easily droppable as the LB :)

[edit: after being without a Launch Box for some indeterminate period of time (new cat probably knocked it into wastepaper basket), I gave in and ordered another one. That's the highest testimonial I can possibly give to this product. It just works. And I'm looking to try it out at -30]

15 minute chargers are nto really recommended. look at the wiki for a list of chargers that are recommended.

I use Imedion (made by pwoerex) 2400 and love them. OThers use the 2700s and love them.

I read the entire wiki page and it mentioned the Energizer charger a couple of times. I was also looking at the Maha C9000 charger but it's a lot more expensive. What is the charge time for Powerex 2700s in that charger for those who have used it?

I would suggest the Powerex 2700 and Maha charger combination to anyone who has this box. I know it is not cheap, but just swallow it as part of the initial cost and you are still looking at a sub $200 unit which outperforms any competitor which costs more.

The 2700s take about 2 hours to charge, and then 2 more to fully trickle charge if you want absolute full capacity.

It is well worth the cost and charging time as these batteries hit so perfectly hot that I now dislike using the others. The Immedions do work well, and have the bonus of a long shelf-life once charged, but I will slowly be adding more 2700s as I can.

The C9000 has already brought back to life several batteries I would have otherwise thrown away. So its not only a sound economical move to purchase it, but it also keeps toxic materials out of the waste stream. I'd like to see Magic Flight push this unit a little harder, as I fear the one they ship will lead to frustration for new users. It was starting to do so for me, with relatively new batteries used in accordance with the directions. After a refresh or break-in in the c9000, they are good as new. I still prefer the "hot" attributes of the 2700s, but the Immedions are great backups and would be preferred for travel.

I'd really consider the c9000 mandatory for long-term MFLB owners. You can get away with the included charger for a while, but save yourself the heartache of suddenly tepid batteries and get yourself this thing for the holidays if you don't already have it.
