Will the larger 2700mA batteries strech out the negative terminal wire?
No, my 2700 mah batteries are just slightly snug. My Duracell/eneloop batteries work fine but are a little loose.
Some are too wide and some aren't.

LOL they weren't loose before you started using those 2700's

Hey, about to purchase myself a LB, and had a quick last minute question.

On the blissville website, they have 2 main options, one with a charger for $99 (looks like a 2 battery charger in the pic), and one without the charger, for $90. I live in Australia, so our power runs on a different voltage. However, I own a voltage converter that allows me to run any American device.

It would be much easier to not have to plug the charger into this, so I had a look at what similar chargers I can find here in Aus. I stumbled upon this one:

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4c04948c00292588273fc0a87e010646/Product/View/S4067

Would this work just as well as the one that comes packaged with the launch box? How about the NiMh batteries that come with it. Are they fine to use?

Cheers for the help,
Tim
I'd email the people at Magic Flight and ask them, or ask other Australians on here.

The Energizer batteries are crap, so is the charger. Better off with Powerex 2700 mah batteries, eneloops or lsd Duracells (repackaged eneloops) and a smart charger.
Is there a smart charger you recommend? Preferably one I wouldnt have to order off the internet, but either way, its whatever I gotta do to get the most out of my box. And also, these lsd Duracells you speak of, what exactly are "lsd" batteries? I've seen them mentioned a couple times, but I still have no idea what they are. I'm just lookin for someone to point me in the right direction of what kinda charger and batteries to get, since theres so many and I know so little. Thanks

LSD in this instance = low self discharge meaning the batts hold a charge while their sitting I believe.

There are a gazillion (exactly ;) ) recommendations for chargers in this thread.... Most must be ordered off the net. The stock charger is smart, cheap and really all you need. The Energizer NIMH 15 minute charger can be purchased in a store (the batts that come with SUCK). You can use the 15 minute charger but your overall life of the battery will be decreased.

IMHO.... Stock batts for the win.... Stock charger for the win but those fancy chargers folks mention pages back are great too I'm sure. If you want more in depth battery info just keep reading back in this thread...it's all there :)

lol Vicki! I'm OCD. Ordered extra batteries this weekend too :D lol!

I also got a cool solar charger that has adapters to charge blackberry, etc. My husband assures me that the generator will allow me to charge my LB batteries but.... Just in case I grabbed a case of butane too :D

Just got my LB today. It came with a 2 hour smart charger, but charged the batteries in under an hour, so I think they must have come precharged a little.
I'm so glad I got it today. I woke up with a migraine, and just a few minutes with the LB made it go away. I suffer from migraines, and tried all kinds of pills for it and specialists, and this method is the only thing that seemed to work. Plus I have glaucoma and use medicinally multiple times a day. I started getting a yucky cough the past few months. I already feel an improvement in my asthma from not smoking yet today.
My husband and I just used a pinch of stuff in the trench and we were baked and it wasn't even kicked yet. I'm looking forward to the money savings because I usually go through at least 2 ounces of herb a month.

I like how stealthy it is too. I often stay with my sister, and her husband is a cop. He knows I use medicinally but can't have other people who come over smelling the stuff. This will help me be extra careful and safe while still being able to take my medicine.

This isn't the first vaporizer I've owned. I also bought and tried the vaporgenie. I couldn't get the hang of it, no matter how hard I tried. It tasted horrible to me and actually made me sick to my stomach (probably because I was using a regular butane lighter). I also went through a lighter a day with the VG. The LB is more idiot proof and tastes better to me than the VG. Those are the only 2 vapes I've tried, so I can't really compare it to any of the higher end models. All I can say is it does what it's supposed to. ;)

Thats really good.

You should have no probs with the LB.. they are really good. and so simple really.

Just remember to grind your herb up into a fine powder, you need a decent 2pc grinder.

If the herb is too wet to get a fine grind, grind it, take one or two hits in the LB and then regrind it. The LB dries it out so it should grind better.

Thanks for the tips. I have a wooden grinder with the holes for smaller stuff to fall through, but I am thinking of putting it in my coffee grinder, which I do when I make medicinal cocoa. :D

You will probably get the same charger that I got. It works fine with one of those cheap $2 adapters

A question about the charger and eneloops: If I have one completely discharged battery and on half charged battery, do I need to wait until the second battery is fully discharged before I recharge them?

You can charge one battery on the charger no problem MF has confirmed.... I do it all the time ;)

My LB came today, and even though I already had high expectations from reading over this mighty mega-thread, it still blows my mind. It's gorgeous and tiny and it gets me even higher than my Buddha does. AMAZING.

The Buddha gets me very high, but after my first draw off the first trench in the LB, I felt a dimension to the high that I realized I hadn't felt since I was smoking. Felt great. The kick in the head. I said aloud, "Wow!" and then "God damn!" and then I hit it again.

I don't so much need the stealth aspect of it, I was more concerned initially with having a vape that would work when the power was out.

I gathered many good practical tips reading this thread. By the second hit the dear little Box feels like an old friend I've just met.

Well made. Good value. VERY high-making.

Happy camper. :D

I've had the LB for just over 13 weeks and still use it on a daily basis (Fridays excepted where I use an Extreme .v3/whip). I also have an Iolite.

The LB gets used 4-5 times per day (Sat-Thurs) so 24-30 times per week; the Iolite gets used when I walk my dogs (I need 100% one handed operation) 7 times per week, and the Extreme gets used 6-8 times on a Friday evening.

So the LB gets used 24-30 times out of 37-45 vapes per week or about 60-70% of the time.

Yeah I guess I'd say it is my 'go to' vape of choice at the moment.

Also just wanted to add that it seems very economical/thrifty on weed. Since Saturday when I received a scale as a present, I found I've been using about 0.10 g/ trench. That trench will give me 3 weeknight sessions providing about 1 1/2 - 2 hours of effect. The Iolite uses about 0.16g/bowl, and I suspect I'm using about 0.5g per cyclone bowl in the Extreme.

I can see using it more frequently when the AC adapter comes out.

I've noticed that after I've vaped a whole trench of finely ground herb, I still have about half of the charge left in my battery. I know this because I noticed that after the trench is kicked, the battery light still comes on fairly bright. So I put it in my CD player, and my xbox controller, and the battery meter on both read about half empty. So when I vape two trenches during the day, I use a fresh battery every time, and end up with two, half-charged batteries, which I then put on the charger, and they are fully charged in about 2 to 3 hours. Does this damage the battery or affect its performance? :o

I am wondering the same thing. I do this same thing everyday. I would think it would effect performance, but I'm not sure. I guessing buying one of the smart chargers folks talk about takes care of this??

NiMH batteries like those that come with the LB are not as susceptible to memory effect as the old NiCads. You can charge at any time and drain the battery 10, 30, 50 or 100 percent and charge it again. Over time the cells will need "conditioning" which is most easily accomplished with a more advanced feature set charger, but not really necessary IMO.

You are better off just buying a few new eneloops every 6 months for a few bucks and using the high quality charger that comes with the LB from blisssville.

I don't understand the continuous battery questions, the same answers have been given at nauseum over and over in this very thread. There is a lot of info in here and you are doing yourself a dis service if you don't go back and read through it.

@DeepFried(yes it's ironic, asking more questions directly after your post :p )

Did you mean that conditioning is unnecessary or that a more advanced charger isn't necessary to condition a batter? I fried my more advanced charger while out of town, and picked up a 15 min charger to get me thru the trip and I haven't gotten a new advanced charger. I have some batteries that have gone thru the 15 min charger about 10 times and their capacity seems to have been reduced dramatically.

What I'm hoping for is a way to condition the batteries with the stock charger that came with the LB. Is it just a series of draining and charging the battery?

This afternoon, I got to thinking. How could I charge my batteries if I had no access to electricity. I looked around a bit, and found this. It's very cool, but also very expensive. :(

http://rechargeablebatteryinfo.com/cat_index_21.php

It would solve the problem if I couldn't get access to electricity for an extended period of time, though. Foldable, Solar Charger. :brow:

Yea I also was wondering if you could put the batteries on the stock charger while its not plugged in for a few hours. Would that drain the batteries, and in a sense "recondition" them?

You don't need to have the batteries fully drained and the stock charger is 'smart'. It will charge the batteries properly whether they're fully drained or not quite. I understand it's not a good idea to leave batteries in an unplugged charger.
