With the exact same design, I think it won't work.
In the box, the contact on the negative side is made with the outer casing of the battery, and in this instructable, the outer casing is... wood.
It could work by changing this feature, but you would have to find a dowel the exact same size as the original battery, so the contact is made precisely. Plus you would still want to have the positive side at one end, in addition to the negative side all around.

Edit: Also this :

You’re basically done. Drop you’re new batteries into your device, make sure the batteries are plugged in, and power up. It should work. If not, check that you have the proper voltage and current going to the batteries for your device. In fact, check that first. It’ll save you from burning a $50 digital camera by feeding 9 volts to it instead of 3 (accident).
You would have to find a proper adapter that will be suitable for the box.
From vaporpedia concerning the AC Power Adapter : "The adapter is capable of delivering a fully regulated temperature compensated 16 amps at 1.42 volts."

agreed, you could wrap in foil in order to ground at the battery. Just throwing the idea out there

Yeah, that was what I was thinking too, but the problem is the whole thing would have to fit tight in the box, and the foil would probably tear apart.

i saw that link before and it inspired me.. but since i don't know anything about electricity.. i ordered the PA pretty soon after haa. no regrets.. i have never even had one problem w/ mine at all.. the PA is worth it.. for $60 w/ a lifetime warranty.. you can't really go wrong

I realize the PA is only $60 and it's supporting a great company. However I found this instructable to be very interesting and curious if anyone has considered it?

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-AC-Powered-Batteries-for-your-DC-Pow/?ALLSTEPS

That would work if you modified the 'fake battery' to have a spring loaded 'finger' to contact the ring in the box...if, and this is a huge if.....if you could find a supply able to put out the fifteen plus Amps the box needs at a very low voltage.

This alone will call for very heavy wires (think heavy duty extension cord) unless you do a 'step down' function in the head like MF did.

You won't find power supplies like that 'growing on trees', which is why MF has to built their own. This is not a trivial engineering project.

The Iso soak will not help with this tray because it has a quartz pad under a screen.
Hold the tray with a hemostat and heat it in the blue flame of a stove burner until it glows.
Done!

Thanks Vito, but I have a ceramic top stove.

I'm not trying to purge the pad. I tried some ISO reclaim and it left a spot of residue on the screen. I can't see why I can't dip the tray in ISO but I thought I'd ask first. Of course, anything left in the pad will be lost in the clean-out burn to follow but I think it's pretty much exhausted.

Edit: If it looks like I have no idea what I'm doing, that would be because I don't.

Yeah, we have a ceramic top stove too. I actually had to go out and buy a torch lighter specifically for the concentrate tray.

slightly off topic, maybe, but how did you all score the concentrate tray and is it necessary to have a power adapter to efficiently vaporize concentrates in the mflb?

Just a couple opinions based on several posts on the previous few pages:

Cloud size - this desire seems to be inherited by all of us who used to combust and based our potential level of highness on how much crap we could spew back out of our lungs into the air. You just have to abandon that idea when it comes to vaping. Yes, once in awhile I also love to do a big old bong hit and watch how much stuff comes back out. But I've gotten at least as blasted from a nicely-executed MFLB session with very little visual cloud effects.

Level of "fill" in the trench - one reason that I fill my trenches very low is that I like to change strains quite a bit (sativa for a wake & bake, indica for evening and sleep). And I'm pretty low-tolerance, so I can't finish a full trench before I'm ready for a different strain.

Is this a great end to the night?

I am looking for feed back on buying a MFLB. I like the idea of how small it is. This is something I will only use at most twice a week that's at the most. and only small amount when used. I have an easy vape and it works well. I just don't like how much u need to pack in, and the plug, the size. It works great though, really great!

I would buy one. I actually did a long while back. One day, I totally fumbled it with the lid opened, hit the tile, and snapped right off. It was usable still but eventually the lid was held by the rubber band it had (old model.) Two emails later I'm getting my warranty processed and it left the day after they got my documentation I believe. I had a hand-signed note attached in the package, as well as the most up-to-date version, at no charge.

Plus it's the biggest thread on fuckcombustion... our words actually do reach the company.

sometimes i don't even finish my first :) these "leftovers" are a realy nice feature of the box. i pitty a friend of my, everytime he has to empty the bowl before he is able to pack away his solo.

you know the magic flight battery caps fit perfectly onto a solo stem!!
thats what i do if i ever need to stop mid way through a stem,

to be fair though i use a shorty turbo most the time and the load is tiny so i usually just blast it on 7 to finish, but the option is there
