I just realized something.

Eds bomb ass butter is good for your box but so is burts bee wax RED (the one with pomegranate oil in it).

I stumbled upon this when i accidentally touched the box to my lips and i almost couldnt wipe the burts off. I noticed i was coating the box more as i tried to wipe it away and the box seemed to be absorbing it.

A little while later I was pissed that i had "a wax stain" on my box is when i realized some thing: Dont people like eds tnt and Rayne longboard make "wax" for wood? after doing a few google searches as to whats in those waxs and what in burts pomegranate I realized it almost the same stuff plus or minus a particular wax or essential oil.

So then I got crazy I took the burts stick directly to the box and used a microfiber towel to massage (Heavy box petting) it in. End result was a beautiful looking box with a decent gloss that makes the fibers in the wood glow as you look at it.

I always have some Burt's Bees handy when medicating, regardless of the method I'm using .

I've noticed that too, Samir. I haven't gone to the extent of massaging it all over my box, but the area around the draw hole definitely has that Burt's Bees glow.

Does waxing the LB improve the lip gunk situation? I use mine native and the lip gunk gets kind of gross. I don't share it so that's not a problem, but still...

I too wax the entire MFLB, but not with bee's wax. I want serious hard, not soft. Johnson's Paste Wax for me, a couple thin coats. Gives you a finish you can walk on. Literally.

I think it protects the wood from all sorts of stuff, from scuffs and dings to the dreaded mouth gunge....

OFs military roots are showing!

i went with paste polish as well....mainly because the rosemary oil in most mixes i am allergic to.

Buzz butter made my lips swell like Martin Short from Pure Luck...

I do notice more lip crud with a polish or was but it comes off easier so meh?

Whew , got thru the storm last night , with a half charged Solo and my mflb + 8 batts .
While listening to radio on my Walkman in a dim candlelit room . ( yes a Walkman )
And not 1 combustion ! Yippee .

Ever since I'd removed the O-ring in the LB ,
I ' rarely ' combust in the LB anymore .
idk why , can't explain it , same batteries I'm using .

I use two batteries at a time. The heat has to take its toll on the batteries. I have 8 batteries going,MFLB brand
They last all day if I just use the box alone.

I've been rocking my new Vapolution since I got one for the great FC price, but today I received a new set of the Logo/Glyph MFLB batteries in the mail.

They are on the charger as I type.

I probably won't get a chance to try them out until tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to being able to use them while I'm out and about over the weekend. Heard a lot of good things about them.

They are as strong as my old PA on full blast!
Be careful not to combust with them. :2c:

Thanks for the tip, man. I hit my LB native for the feedback, so I imagine it'll get my lip hotter, quicker with the new batteries. Might be a good excuse to finally set up a little water rig for the box, too.

It's a shame that Vape World offer has run out because I'd have picked one up as a back up for $80, that's an insane price.

I scanned through the pages of this thread, but couldn't find an answer to my question: Which wood do you guys prefer for your boxes?

I did see someone mention that maple is better for concentrates, but has anyone noticed a difference for flowers?

To me it's an aesthetic choice. I don't see how the wood would make any difference in terms of vapour production, whether from flowers or concentrates. It does subtly affect the flavour. I've only tried the birch (no longer used) and the koa, and I liked both.

I played with my search query and found a couple answers:

Vicki said on p. 845 that bubble hash vapes best in the Maple. Then on p. 838, she did say there are subtle taste differences & she prefers Cherry over Maple or Walnut. And nopartofme said on the same page that she/he likes the Walnut.

Before I started wondering about flavor, I was gonna go for cherry solely based on looks, so I'll stick with that one!

The taste difference is very subtle. The only reason my bubble hash vapes better in the maple LB is because it runs hotter than my other LB's, always has. :)

Directly from MFLB rep, its all aesthetics. Walnut has a "nuttier" flavor, but its subtle. From my own personal experiences with wood stocks and such... you won't notice too much of a difference between the woods used at the dimensions the MFLB comes in. Its not until you get to much larger pieces that you might notice a difference (mainly in durability).

I never tried an iolite, but I own a solo and a mlfb. My first vape experience was the solo. Bought it almost two years ago, and it was love at first sight! Still think its a great vape, but after buying the box 6 months ago, i rarely use it anymore. The main reason is the box is WAY more stealth! The fast heatup/cooldown time being my second reason. I also enjoy the amount of vapor i get from the box more than the big fat rips from my solo! Im getting about the same level of high from a stem on the solo and a trenchfull in the box. My throat feels better after a session with my box because of smaller (and fewer) hits. But thats propably beacuse i almost always vaped a stem from 5-7 heating setting on the solo, and letting it go the end of the 12min cycle. I stopped doing that short time after purchasing my box. Now i dont bother to go longer than 5-8min when using my solo (still my throat feels better after with the box).

Anyway, my personal choice would be the box, but if you dont need stealth and love big hits, solo is the best choice.

I've expressed this opinion before.. but I know I'm in the minority with a few others where I personally think the MFLB gets me higher than a Solo. Maybe its all in the technique. I previously sold my MFLB thinking I was getting an "upgrade" with the Solo. After owning the Solo for a few months.. I missed the MFLB and sold it again to get another MFLB. Things are back on track. I like being able to vape on demand rather than waiting for a heat-up and fiddling with auto shut off since I'm usually doing things when I vape. I was going to get a power adapter for my MFLB.. but decided it was more worth it to just put a little more money for a desktop unit. Purchased an E-Nano that I look forward to test out. I'll always have a MFLB around now.. learned my lesson, but I am intrigued by the Firewood.

Awesome, I'll be able to test out & compare the Solo and MFLB (and Pinnacle) for myself as soon as they get here. I'm giving one of the other two to my grandma, but the MFLB is all mine! I love the idea of vaping out of a wooden device - it seems so much more natural to me. My boyfriend isn't a fan, but he can suck it :p

And YES, the Firewood looks nice, too! I was pretty torn, but went with the MFLB because of the zillion positive reviews. I'd be interested in seeing a comparison between the two.

I always use the maple.
I had the others but passed them along.
I do not know why... I just never really took to them

Uh Oh.. philosophical stuff:uhoh:
Your wording was thought provoking....
as the "question" you could not find an answer to .....
........was posed to "you guys".
So technically a couple thousand people would have to speak their preference..
and all do it in one post..
in order for you to "find an answer to your question"

i just got a firewoodvape its a great compliment to mflb.its like mflb on steroids but lack the flavour you get with the box.you can get the same exotic woods too.now i have a unit that i can share with other people.my box is just for me.mflb is better in public while the firewood more for chillling out.

I have been thinking the same actually. Maybe its because less goodies get lost in unnecessary cooking(between the hits on the solo)? Its not a big difference imo, but enough to notice. Considering I can use abv from my lb's another time in the solo for emergencies, I would say the box at least get me as high on less goods.

I got my new walnut box a couple of days ago and man it get hotter a lot faster than my old dirty box with the same batteries. Fresh logo batteries and a new box is very powerful! sadly I combusted on my second trench :/. Its so more easy to get big hits. I got a tiny water pipe that I think is a perfect match for the LB! I now get hits almost the size of my solo in 5-6 seconds and also drawing faster than with the old box. I love it! will be cleaning this new one more often.

The draw whole on my new walnut box is a little to big. The stems is way to loose. The glass ones will fall out if I turn it upside down:/ Very annoying! At least I got an acrylic stem which is a little
tighter fit. Is the wooden stems a tighter fit? I might buy a couple if they are!

I have one wooden stem, and I have noticed that one end is slightly larger than the other and provides a tighter fit than with my acrylic or glass stem.
That may just be mine, but if other can confirm this, It will probably do the trick for you.
