Hello Everybody, I am new to the forum.I have tried searching on google to find out how to dry your weed to get it ready to grind and vap with the magic flight. I have found where some but it seems like these methods are more for freshly clips nugs. What do you usually do to dry it before vaping? Are there any tips to know when a nug is dried just enough to vape good but not lose thc?
Howdy, welcome to the forum. Good question.
I think a good starting place is too dry herb works better than too moist. Vitolo suggests a good test, if your bud grinds (cuts rather than tears) it's probably dry enough. So try grinding a bit, if it doesn't do well, leave it open in a warm spot for a while longer and try again.
You generally don't loose THC by curing, I wouldn't let that hang you up. For sure the bud is going to get heated until it's really really dry before vaping starts anyway (costing you battery life and 'box time' in the process). If it's going to dry out anyway, why fight it before?
I don't dry buds enough so they crumble, although some do. I grind when it's dry enough to grind well then leave it open for a while to dry some more (it dries much better after grinding since there's more surface area then). You quickly develop a feel for what ground herb that will quickly vape in the box looks like going it.
It's all good, 'take it out and play with it'.
when i first got my LB i went out and got an Energizer 15 min charger, since MF recommended it to frequent users on their FAQ page.. but i didn't like it either... batteries didn't hold a charge long enough, and i was degrading batteries fast...
That's not at all surprising really, let's look at that recommendation:
"Anyone looking for the fastest possible alternative charger which is known to be reliable should consider the Energizer 15-minute charger
with the Maha Powerex 2700mAh batteries. This is the best combination for people who use the Box at least once every day and who are looking for optimum runtime performance. (The Energizer batteries themselves are not nearly as good -- take it or leave it,"
To me the first part sets the tone. Performance is being sacrificed at the altar of speed. This is for a special case where other desirable features are 'traded away'. The more general advice that follows is IMO much more useful:
"As an alternative configuration for people who use the Box less frequently (not every day) but are still interested in optimum performance, Magic-Flight recommends the
Imedion batteries and the
Maha MH-C9000 charger -- this is the
best overall combination for both battery longevity and long vaping sessions. Be advised that this charger is somewhat more complex to use than most chargers and will be more expensive than most to purchase. Magic-Flight staff uses the Maha MH-C9000 internally and find them to be excellent. They are a bit arcane for the average user, but for those who are into the advanced "tech" of rechargeable batteries, it is a great unit"
Notice the Imedion (the battery MF uses) and the Energizer charger is
not a recommended configuration. That charger abuses those batteries. IMO that's important for folks to consider when they look to upgrade from the factory provided gear.
