While I don't have the PA and I don't use my MFLB with a whip... I must say there is just no way the MFLB will hit as well as a desktop.

I'm playing devils advocate a bit I suppose. But it's just how I feel. :S

I understand what you're saying and all, but I'd also like to point out that bumble bees can't fly and Bourbon has no nutritional value. Yet there are such critters in my yard, and I know guys proving the doctor wrong on that very point right now.

Honest folks have reported serious hits from MFLB. I've got a few that rocked me back too, although I too tend to avoid such things. "Huge clouds" is not where I'm at I guess.

If you've never tried the PA, you're in for a surprise IMO. It is a treat when it comes to 'wicking things up' with MFLB and it adds stability. You can bring a small bit (some might say just enough for one hit) to the proper temperature (and have control of it on the fly) so I guess I see no reason at all why any other vape heating the same amount of the same material to the same temperature would have any advantage??

It's no doubt easier for me to get a heavy hit from my HA than MFLB at any point in time, but if I stay sharp and put the effort in I doubt it's any better one way or the other. This is, I think, part of the unit's wide popularity with folks, not all of us are dependent on the stealth aspects. I own and use several because they are a very good, efficient and powerful unit IMO.

I use a 500ml Roor and have a Vaperbrothers and MFLB. I use a PA and WPA with my MFLB and a hands free whip w/ 14mm GonG adapter.

Both setups have pros and cons but 9 times out of 10 I choose the MFLB combo.

I feel the same way! I know that my box is working because I can see the greens/kief changing right before my eyes, and I can feel the throat hit when I inhale, but I don't really put a lot of importance on how huge my clouds are. I do occasionally like using a chamber or a water pipe to get a few huge hits at the end of the trench, but I don't really like finishing a bowl in 3 giant hits. This was also coincidentally a factor in my purchasing of it. That and the fact that I can pack a full trench or I can pack a tiny snap and it's still as efficient as ever.
I agree, I prefer about five or six "hits" to me its akin to having a session with 5 or 6 cones, the only difference is I'm using about a 6th of the mix I would be if I were packing cones.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are 'cones'? I've come up with several ideas, each less likely than the one before.....

Cones are bowls. The term is mostly used in Australia and New Zealand.

So when he says 5 or 6 cones, he means bowls.

LOL, I didn't realise cones were not a common word in the USA, I'm assuming by Quetzalcoatl response a "bowl" must be the small thing you put in the end of a stem of a bong to hold your mix ?? if it is, yes cones are bowls. To me a bowl would be the whole mix you mull up in a BOWL.

Yeah, essentially you fill up the "bowl" with what you're going to smoke. The term applies to bongs, pipes, steamrollers, etc.

my friend burned my screen today, do u guys think it would effect the performance of the box?

No, it wont have an effect on it. Do a cleaning cycle to help get rid of the "nasties" from it combusting; maybe a light dab of ISO on the screen with a qtip too. After a bit, you wont even notice the smell/taste. There may still be discoloration on the screen, but that's about it. ;)

Thanks, thought as much perhaps, best to find out before repeating it.... Like I said, some of the alternatives were more than a bit far fetched.

Fun how these terms crop up, isn't it? I'm not sure how you take it, but I find it fun to poke at the way we've abused this queer language we pinched off the Brits. More fun still to see how guys half a world apart match up at times like this. Makes it even more fun for me.

I'm not sure if you know, but we came a vote or two away from adopting German instead? I bet the world would have turned out differently then......

Thanks and best wishes.

I personally was thinking of the cone shaped joints... can't even fathom smoking 5-6 J's, even if they were super small.

I suppose the term cone makes just as much sense as bowl... And now that you've got me thinking, who even came up with all of this lingo? Maybe I should start throwing my own words out when I'm with friends and just see if anything sticks.

Yup, that was one of the more likely ideas I came up with too. We used to roll 'em that way back in school, took two papers, one glued at an angle to the first. Usually with a cigarette filter on the small end. Then again we're talking Mexican bricks, seeds, weeds, insects and all. Different game these days.

FWIW 'bowl' works for me as an ex pipe smoker. That's the part at the end of the stem that holds the tobacco and fire.

Cones? Cones go on your head, right? Or get filled with ice cream. Or keep cars out of construction zones.

Until now.....

Edit: Oh, yeah, after the seven gram blunt story, I'm not ready to sell anyone else's consumption short. Hey, one of the four Ohm cart testers is averaging a gram to a gram and a half a day. I'm a mite short of that...... OF

Whats the best grinder you guys have found to use with the MFLB. Im asking this since I find that it only works good with fine grounds.

Hands down its this one

I have tried a few different types of grinder.

The space case medium grind is way too course for the MF

The newer space case mini (4pc scout) produces a finer grind than the other space cases but is still not quite fine enough for the MFLB.

This grinder produces the finest grind I have seen. It is insanely small so I tend to first grind using my Space Case mini and then finish it off in this. The grinder is the right size for the bowl of the MFLB so you can put the grinder over the bowl (It fits into it) and then flip the whole thing over and the herb effortlessly drops into the grinder from the bowl with no spillage so a regrind half way through vaping is really easy.

Having tried a number of different kinds of grinder in search of the perfect grind, I can say that this wins hands down. Infact with the fine grind, vapor is more easily produced so many people having issues with the MF may find that the grind is the issue.

Personally I think the MFLB should ship with this grinder as the grind is important in getting the best out of the MFLB and I have yet to find another grinder that grinds this fine.

I really like the 'factory' grinder. The little one shipped with the units? I got a couple to go with my older units somewhere....Puff it up? I also have a different grinder about the same size (green, no magnet) that works well but no brand on it, sorry. But size, I think, is the key. You need little teeth for a fine grind.

But MF shipped the right one for their units.....go figure.

Yup, that's the ticket all right. And they do ship them that way, at least sometimes:

Does the job a trench at a time.

I do my bulk grinding in an electric coffee grinder a few grams at a crack sometimes too.

the grind is the biggest down fall in my opinion.... it should be stressed that fine grinds are required. The only time i have ever been able to use my unit "properly" is when I had material that would crumble easy other wise bigger pieces were toasted very unevenly

what would you guys say is the most portable / convenient way to water filter the vape.

It is. I haven't seen any tutorial vid/text that doesn't.

True, never been able to vape medium/big pieces deep. MFLB needs almost powder if not powder.

My homemade bubbler is very portable. Since it's ultra small and both ends - intake and mouthpiece - are whip connected. So I can connect them together with small tube and it's water-proof. Then I can bring it everywhere in my pocket with water in. Also it work with my EQ/Iolite too. Really happy with this bubbler. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-magic-flight-box.750/page-649#post-209005

No worries, Aussies take the piss out of the English language too, in fact many people think we murder it.
I never knew the USA nearly adopted German, that would have made for a very different western world I think.
As for "cones" that you put in a stem,or bowls as you know them, if you look at their shape they look like a cone, narrow at the end that slides into the stem.
On an on topic note, does anyone use the MFLB grinder ? does it grind small enough for the box?

Sweet bubbler man, may I ask what materials you used to make it? Also do you have problems with the MFLB being held vertically straight up tripping the trench down?

@skippy, i advise you to scroll up on this same page where people were just discussing the MFLB grinder.
Yep,sorry about that, I somehow skipped over those posts. I use a coffee grinder, which I think is great, but I'm on the lookout for a more portable grinder too, it looks like the MFLB grinder is the go, thanks. At first I wasn't grinding my herbs enough and I wasn't getting the same sort of vapor people here write about, but since I've been grinding it to almost powder the vapor is great, a very fine grind is definitely the best way to get the most out of the launch box.
