Need a recommendation for a quality lighter. Delivery within EU preferred. Not the biggest fan of the Vapman lighter and others that I own tend do work worse when holding them upside down

My Vapman torch (the premium one) seems to work fine upsidown.. not so great butane quality? Using mine with the Calibri extra refined butane from Amazon.. there is another brand too (more expensive) that is even purer but the name slips me - I'm sure someone will chime in and name it. Will come back if nobody does.

The premium Vapman torch is just nicer then those cheapy Amazon torches.. Consistent flame length.. and it's hotter (can reach 2800F vs 1200-1800F of the basic cheap ones) and when you let off the clicker the flame instantly goes out vs. puttering about for a couple seconds after.

BTW, you don't have to heat it directly upsidown tho.. you can come in on a slight angle as long and you keep the flame in the center and make your little circles..

I really like Eagle torches but the Vapman or Honest torches are really nice, too, and they don't have the childproof spring in the trigger.

The even better then Calibri butane is "Newport butane" can also get this from Amazon, but probably more expensive then the manufacturers website or other sources. I think this newport brand is the purest butane you can get.

It's certainly on the more powerful side but I like my ronxs / cadrim dual torch (using only one flame) for the lotus.

I also don't believe the lotus needs a click disk, the heater is so sensitive to torch position you can tailor your hit on the fly. It's my favourite thing about the lotus.

I think it makes more sense in something like a Vapman or Dynavap or Anvil where you heat it to temp and then hit it. With the Lotus (or a brick) the only feedback that would help you is one that indicates "you have achieved the proper oven temperature range to begin drawing your actual hit," but you'd need something much more sophisticated to tell you "now hit faster...now hit slower..." to regulate your hit production. Vapor temperature or visual feedback of the actual vapor in a glass pathway would be much more reliable, I think.

My Vapman lighter is probably the one I use the most for the Lotus.

In terms of alternatives, the PB207 works great upside down, but personally I think the minimum flame length is a bit bigger than ideal for the Lotus but YMMV.

Personally I'd go for the Vector Volt if I was going to pick one lighter for the Lotus that wasn't the Vapman one.

Also +1 for Newport gas, that's all I use, although struggling to find places to buy cases of them that isn't Amazon, but I've got enough for now whilst I search.

I'm thinking of a bimetallic reed in a round shape that bends into the air path when it gets hot. It would then vibrate and your draw speed would change the intensity of the vibration.

Bonus points if it sounds more like a flute than a kazoo.

Is Newport better than Xikar?

I'd definitely try to always get the highest quality butane gas you can.. Newport or Colibri 99.9% or maybe this Xikar (as many +'x' refined as you can get).. at a minimum. Not only is it good for the torch and makes it last longer.. it's less impurities to potentially inhale. Lotus/Vapman are extremely low to zero risk anyway. It dissipates quickly.

You don't want to be using dollar store no name brand, lol. ok no joke.. with the Lotus and Vapman it's alot safer since you aren't breathing it in as directly as say a sticky brick (I avoided this vape for that reason, although I think it's cool tho). If using a brick you are for sure inhaling any by-product in the butane so use the best butane you can. Pure butane should burn super duper clean.. when I test burn my honest or vapman torches I can always smell a little ozone in the air right after as a by-product. Wouldn't want to be directly inhaling ozone for extended periods either tho.

i am so in love with my new sherlock pipe for the Lotus! 10thousand times better than before!

But if I got one of those, I'd have no use for my homemade cardboard and staples J-Hook stand. LOL

I really like the looks of this option. Is the flavor as comparably excellent as the official Lotus J-Hook?

Source?
