Pretty sure my new and still unused cap will get the same !
I'll just try to find the good size screen.
However nice and neat ! MT will maybe implement this in the new version ?
Or maybe the new version will be cleanable from the top ? :p Just dreaming and try to imagine what miss perfection here.

Excited to hear back about high heat version.

Pic or it never happened! ;)
He immediately stuffed $120 and a nice bud and a hash nugget in my hands and told me to get him one ASAP.

I can't get any more medicated as it is?

I didn't get a chance to get my camera with a macro mode so these will have to do.

Ive been using the natural wood cap with a screen for a couple months with no problems. The screen generally stays in place or an occasional tap on the table with the stem in will reset it. I use this set up on trail runs where it jostles around a lot and no problems.

The black cap is newer but once set in place the screen has never moved. The really fine stainless steel mesh domes over the actual bowl at the perfect size to lodge in the cap. Here are the screens.

To stop abv going up the flower head pipe so to speak maybe?

That's my assumption. I usually remove the entire WPA + Cap to prevent ABV blowback before I clear the bubbler. I guess this is why I never have a problem with ABV in my cap

In fact, I was quite impressed my OCD about ABV blowback was justified when I replaced the plate on my cap for the first time. I was expecting to find black ABV stuck in the cap, but it was completely clean despite intensive use!

Same here, isnt that what the little handle is for, to lift the cap when you clear the bubbler?

Why is that happening? Blowback from bubblers, perhaps (if we are right)?

I rarely use my WA but even turbulence while drawing on the stem will get some herb inside the vapor cap. I usually blow in the cap a bit after a session while it's still hot but the cap gets a little dirty anyhow due to condensed vapor and specs of herb.

I went through a few old style plates, but my new version has been flawless- no cracks, no unusual wear, only slight discoloration on the outside of my dimple, which can be expected when torching metals.

I found that I got abv up in the cap on a fairly regular basis, even when I wasn't trying and couldn't figure it out. Mostly though I like the screened cap when I'm out and about and just keep the cap on the bowl in a pocket or daypack between puffs.

The old plate cracked over time and with over-heating. Has anyone had any issues with the new plate?
Mine is working great. The top does have little heat dimples and seems like it is always changing a little.
Thinking it will crack sometime down the road as it does take a lot of abuse with the heat.
Picture 1 is new, pic 2 is around a month and the third is now around 5 months of daily use.

I've being contemplating getting another plate for back up and avoid down time if it does crack.
We beat on these guys pretty hard so I consider this a pretty normal wear situation. Who knows, my unit could go for years and to use Murphy's law to my benefit having a spare would make the initial cap last.

No, don't worry. It's written only on the newer ones…. As long as it works as it should of course! ;)

Lots of concentrates in the Lotus Pipes? That looks like quite a heat attack on your plate! :p

Only flower. The denting seems a slow process and I swear they move around some. Or it's just working that well..??
Figured it's normal. I don't think I over heat it much. Barely let it even glow except to start up.
Do you not think it's normal? I use it lots.

It should be normal, I don't know for sure. It's just that my old plates never looked like that…. It must be the new normal… :p

@Pipes @RUDE BOY I was going to ask about this especially ! Nice you pictured it.
I haven't used mine yet. But a friend reported same denting process starting just after a few days (less than a week).
Seems normal so.

I wonder if there are any differences between new and old plate? I suppose it would be minimal. Maybe need more heating than previous ? Or less ?
I'll find out soon when I'll be ready to rock my plate. For now it is still shiny.
