U might be right about WP usage.. this how i fucked up mine.. Used the big torch for 5 secs and it crapped out.. Flame wasn't big but i guess was wide enough to fuck up things.. .
My plate looks almost like new btw.. no signs from the outside that anu damage has been done on the inside, can't imagine how some of you are managine to burn trough it ? Acetylene torch maybe ?
My lotus continues to be a bit inconsistent, but the plate seems fine on the outside. The fact that I have char marks without having touched the flame to the outside of the wooden cap has me concerned that I have indeed been overheating the wood. When I heat the plate now I get small spots of glow on it that I had not noticed before, so maybe it is the plate after all. I have a replacement plate (new style), but I have not explored inside the cap yet. I will get around to it soon, but I'm afraid of what I may find in there...
if i remember correctly max said they use a special tool to install it and not to remove it

I received two packs of the same size screen, so either there was an error and I still don't know which size I have, or @Max Jitter decided to split the difference and only carry one size but forgot to update the site?
I agree completely. I would have been in trouble this morning without my Lotus.
@natural farmer turned me on to the LOTUS and I use the SOLO a lot as well however it took me a while to get the LOTUS wired. I must tell you when I feel sick I grab the LOTUS for fast relief.

That's my point actually, that because both bags of screens are the same I have no idea which size is missing. That's why I ordered both sizes, to see what the difference is.
Do you have the screen that came with your Lotus? That one should be standard. You can check the ones you just got against the original to determine which they are. I got my Lotus recently, and I ordered some fine screens, and they were smaller than the ones installed in the stem and WPA.
If there was no marking on the package then the screens are the standard mesh. Send us your shipping info and we'll make your order right.
