Big thanks to @Liquidizer. I just ordered some EJMix and can't wait to try it out. THC ejuice in an ecig has been a dream of mine.

I'd love to order the whole kit and run by own BHO, but living in an apartment isn't conducive to that. Knowing that only top grade flowers are used in producing my BHO would be very satisfying to say the least. Once I find a suitable location though....watch out!

Get ready for a wall of text with lots of pictures. This is was my process for turning some shatter into some winterized e-juice for use in e-cigs. I took lots of photos for a step by step process so anyone else can follow along and achieve the same great results as I did. Another note, I have never made BHO before, I am using concentrates I purchased. I have never attempted anything like this before, but with the instructions on Liquidizer's site, I found it a fairly straight forward and painless process.

Yesterday I received my EJMix in the mail. They folks at Liquidizer also sent me 2 syringes. I was just thinking about where I can go buy syringes and not look like a junkie! It's just a little thing, but having those syringes in the package meant I was ready to go, no need to wait. So thanks again!

I decided to use some Blue Diesel amber shatter. The whole block is about 2g, for this liquidization, I'll be using 1.15g.

I'm using some squat, wide mouth mason (canning) jars. I believe they're a pint, but not 100%. You can see I've made a sort of double boiler in the pot using the screw on lid rim (props to the idea from the Liquidizer instruction manual). Just adjust the water level so your jar sits at the correct angle.

I put the shatter into the mason jar, and add some 190 proof Everclear (~4-5 mL). I then place the mason jar into my double boiler setup.

After a few minutes of heat, you can see the shatter start to dissolve.

Fully dissolved. I did stir for a little bit using a dab tool. Total time was maybe 15 minutes? I kept a low heat the entire time.

I then suck the Everclear solution up into syringes. I fill up the first syringe. After that, I add a little more Everclear to the jar to thin the rest of the solution out. I then suck the rest up into the second syringe. Basically using Liquidizer's Zero Waste Method, thinning out the last bit so any left behind is negligible. As a result, you can see the second syringe is much lighter in color.

I then place the two syringes upside down in a glass, and place the glass in the freezer. I leave the syringes in the freezer overnight.

I make myself a filter to use in the freezer for the cold Everclear wash. I simply use a coffee filter secured to the same mason jar I used before with the rim. I leave this, along with the bottle of Everclear, in the freezer overnight.

The next morning, I check on the syringes. You can see they're a little cloudy.

I eject the syringes into my coffee filter. I place the syringes back in the glass and keep them in the freezer until the next step.

I close the freezer and let it sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I check on it. I then take the syringes and suck up some chilled Everclear. Using both syringes I squirt approximately 3 mL of chilled Everclear over the remaining wax. After checking back 15 minutes later, I see there's still a decent amount of what looks like good solution above the filter. I add another 3 mL of Everclear and gently slosh it around the filter, and gently knocking the bottom against the freezer in an attempt for more of the Everclear to get through the filter. After doing this, and waiting another ~15 minutes, I end up with the left over wax in the filter.

I ended up adding a decent amount of Everclear back into the mixture, but it didn't bother me much. My thought process was I can always evaporate it out, I just wanted to make sure I got the most out of my concentrates. After removing the filter with the waxes, this is what I was left with inside the jar.

I place this jar back into my double boiler setup. Using a low simmer, I let the Everclear evaporate off. I let it simmer for ~30 minutes. It was probably ready sooner, but I'm new to this and wanted to make sure I got it all out.

Now is when I added the EJMix. I sucked my uncut liquid up into my syringe to get an estimate of the volume. I have just under 0.9 mL. I decide to add ~.55 mL of EJMix. I stir the mixture over heat, and give it ~10 minutes to make sure everything is good and mixed. After I'm done, I'm left with this.

I suck this e-juice up into the syringe. I have 1.4 mL. This means my solution is ~39% EJmix (.55mL/1.4mL). At this concentration, there seems to be a low enough viscosity that flow in e-cig tanks is a non-issue.

The previous solution was my second attempt. My first attempt was using some Chocolope blonde crumble that came out with a 25% EJMix concentration. I found it to be a little too thick. I tried some in my e-cig, and it worked, but I fear it might lead to a premature death of the atomizer and/or wick. But I'm completely new to this, so those fears could be completely unfounded. Only experimentation will tell. I ultimately thinned the Chocolope down to ~35% EJMix and it seems to be much better. This is my Chocolope solution.

And now the the end result, some of my Chocolope in my e-cig!

One other note, whenever I had some goodies left over in a jar/syringe/anything, I'd simply soak it in some Everclear. At the end of this liquidization process, I evaporated off the majority of the Everclear and poured the remainder into a NoGoo container. I plan on letting that sit for a day or two to evaporate off the rest, and then using it in my Cera. That way there really is nearly zero waste!

The e-cig I'm using is a Sapphire cartomizer from GotVapes.com, attached to a Vision Spinner Variable Voltage battery. I've only been using the device for a couple hours, but it has me completely baked right now. So thumbs up so far, we'll just have to see about the longevity of it.

So once again, I apologize if I rambled on this post, just wanted people to see how easy it really was.

Massive shout out to the Liquidizer team, this really is a game changer. Being able to use this device for travel or concerts is going to be invaluable to me. My highest recommendations.

you may not want to evap ethanol in a NoGoo container. silicone and ethanol are a great match. NoGoo told me they do not recommend it.

Is anybody using a thick Ejmix on a rebuildable atomizer? I wanna try this stuff, sub ohm on my nemesis mech mod pushing 30 watts  :ko:

You also could dry burn any gunk off your wicks very easily.....

So I'm noticing that even though it has that weird flavor, and isn't quite as strong as straight oil, I'm still reaching for my mini protank of liquid rather than my dabbler or dr dabber when I head out.

I think the best way to describe thc juice is, it's not better than the first fresh wax hit, but it's a lot better than the tail end, smokey ass hit on a vape pen :2c:

Agreed, I'm still quite enjoying my THC E-juice. Yes, I can taste some of the EJMix, but it's not too strong, and it doesn't taste bad. My e-juice mix is only 35% EJMix, so it's still fairly strong.

The taste is better in my Cera (from start to finish, not just the first hit), but I'm still using the e-cig for my travel rig. I still use the Cera when at home with my uncut concentrates, but the ease of use and stealth factor for the ecig make it a no brainer for travel.

When I go boating I like a smaller ecig as well:

The one on the left is my travel unit!

Thank you for the pictures!
I'll make some from my shatter.

Hi guys, I just read the whole thread and i'm planning to buy the Liquidizer. I'm located in Europe and here BHO is very unpopular. Very few people have heard of butane extracts.
I learned a lot from this thread and I'm gonna give the Liquidizer a try. I just hope they can ship with Fedex.

You guys in the US are lucky to have so many brands of butane. Here it's gonna be very hard to find good refined butane. Does the butane really have to be refined? What are the risks of using low quality butane?

After reading this thread for the past 3 days I just purchased some ejmix. Can't wait to test it out. There was tons of great info from several members and themanufacturer.

I still have to read the manual about winterization as I am not to sure as to how the wax available in my area is made.

Has anyone mixed crumble wax with the ejmix?

I still have to read the manual about winterization as I am not to sure as to how the wax available in my area is made.

I always use crumble from the local dispensary, 25% mix to 75% crumble gives me a nice thick mix that hits great.

I am too lazy to winterize and have almost never seen winterized extract at the local dispensary, but it wouldn't hurt to ask your local shop. Enjoy the mix, it could never replace anything in my arsenal but is a must have addition.

I was at a show a couple of weeks ago and picked up some EJmix and a couple of Liquidizers. EJMix works great, haven't tried out the actual liquidizer but the 1 gram to 35 drops worked great. Not sure what that percentage is, does anyone know? Used the small dropper bottle that came with the Liquidizer kit.

I am seriously considering picking this up! I read the first 10 pages when this thread started looks like I got some reading to do before I decide for sure !!

Long or short always read the directions. It's no wonder why people run into problems or questions after not doing so.

Hitting the easy button or using cliff notes is not going to get it done correctly. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for bringing this up, we absolutely appreciate your feedback and safety has always been our core concern in designing the Liquidizer. On page 13 of our instructions, before making any mention of window use we have a very visible disclaimer stating: "WINDOW USE DISCLAIMER: do not use the Liquidizer suspended from a window over two stories in height, or that presents a falling hazard to pedestrians below. Do not use from windows in multi-tenant buildings as cigarette butts may be tossed out of upper story windows. Do not use from windows within 50 feet of air conditioning units due to spark hazard from compressors. Do not use in conditions of high wind or extreme weather. Use in the evenings or night to avoid direct sunlight."

This is the reason we emphasize reading the instructions carefully; they are vital to safe operation. When used from a window the open atmosphere quickly diffuses the butane vapor. Indoor use is extremely hazardous due to the closed environment, butane sinks and creeps along the ground to pilot lights and other hazards. If there is a spark you have expanding gases in a closed environment which blows out windows and doors. Outside even the slightest breeze works wonders and should the worst occur, you will not be in physical proximity and the flare up will release its energy to the exterior atmosphere.

We will take all of your comments and feedback into account to improve our product. We appreciate your suggestions and invite you to keep them coming! Thank you so much.

Should I keep my Everclear in the freezer so it's good and cold before winterization?:science:

Lions Tigers and Bears oh my! I've been lusting
For that model from day one.

Winterizing is the best thing anyone could do, just the last step to reach bliss.

After toasting my flowers I find that freezing them before I blast them gets me more extract and better quality overall.

Anyone else doing this extra step? If so please share. Thanks.

CHeck it - maybe our homeboys at liquidizer could offer a heavy hitter, a super pen if you will....

i think most heads freeze their flowers before extraction? or are you talking about the toasting part?

toasting is great for eliminating the smell of the herb. however i try to avoid heat whenever possible.

Taste AND moisture! Freezing before blasting is so you pull as little water-solubles as possible. With decarbing you don't have much to worry about, plant fats and chlorophyll and very little moisture. The downside to that is losing terpenes (which do have medical properties on their own as well as synergy with cannabinoids).

Can some post a link to some good coffee filters to use to winterize. I assume we want thin non bleech filters.

Made my first ejmix/bho blend and it is working great. I am using an evod cargo with an ego twist battery. Having a little gargling issue but nothing major. Really liking the ejmix.

PG = propylene glycol, VG= vegetable glycerin EJ mix = PEG = polyethylene glycol. The theory behind this is that your cannabinoids are like bowling balls in a bin of ball bearings. Shake that bin and the bowling balls settle to the bottom quickly. The PEG introduces a variety of shapes and sizes to the mix in the bin making it more homogenized. If you look back into Liquidizer's material they explain it in more detail.

So I want to make essential oils from herbs like mint, lavender, basil, etc.
Young Living seems to be the most recommended brand for essential oils but they are quite expensive ($15 per bottle).
I've read the cheaper brands aren't pure and have many additives/fillers.
I use essential oils in my nebulizer for asthma... for my kids as well, so, I do need the best quality possible.

I am wondering if this Liquidizer device would produce essential oils that are comparable in quality to the Young Living brand?

Can someone here who has used both PG and EJ mix walk me through the differences? Taste, viscocity etc. All things being equal it seems that PG is a slightly more well known quantity from a health perspective, since more ecig users use it, it's also quite a bit cheaper so I'd love to better understand the pros and cons here...

In my limited experience with pg (one batch, and friend who tried a couple times), the pg and the concentrate have separated over time. Sticky clumps of oil have collected in the tank as the pg vaped or evaporated off. Worked well enough initially but degraded quickly over a day or two. Hits became less potent as the concentrate separated out and splotches of concentrate stuck to the side of the tank, wick and atomizer.

With EJ mix, I always achieve a homogeneous mix that stays that way. The mix darkens in the tank/cartridge over time and and can develop a sweet taste.

I never really gave pg much of a chance after the initial time as EJmix has worked perfectly for my needs, but I do see people online report success with it so maybe I was doing something wrong.
