I have not been able to write a good review of the Pipe X, but I have to say it is a vape with an easier use than it seems and it works with anything.
Before making a more accurate review, I am going to share here a fragment of a video review that I made with @vapormachina

Here i go with a Pipe X review! I hope it helps anyone who want to get one!
The Pipe X is a small vaporizer, light and easy to transport. The system to unload the camera makes it very comfortable on the go, since there are no parts to lose.
The stash makes it comfortable to carry, although it adds a lot of size, and allows you to carry a lot of material in the compartment. The fact that the stash is made of plastic makes it lighter and does not make noises when colliding with, for example, some keys, or grating other things that you can carry in your pocket. I have to say that the mechanism to open it is not very intuitive at first and it is hard, but it becomes “smooth”.
The first time you open it, you will surely replicate this scene:
The lighter works great. But I have to say that there is a imbalance between the tank capacity of the lighter and the amount of material you can store in the stash compartment.
This vape works very, very well with traditional hash. And I would recommend @hippiepipe to make a metal sponge for concentrates since it also works well with extractions, but it can be a mesh along the vape.
With a dynavap the technique consists of rotating the device and the heating height on the cap, here the technique is to bring the flame closer and away, something fundamental with grass to get an even ABV.
Although the manufacturer recommends using a double flame lighter (which works very well), I am going to comment on the results with different lighters and IH….

I'm going to be quick here: this is a fast heating device with little mass and a very slow heating doesn't work well. You need to wait a long time and hit while heating, resulting in long hits and the device gets very hot.
-2: the wdlx
-Main use: herb.
-To avoid: hash/extractions (unless you use it in a horizontal position).
Unlike the wand, the aggressive heating provided by the wdlx/orion goes very well with the Pipe X. In 15 seconds, more or less, you get great hits and an even ABV. It would be great to be able to extend the 10-second cycle of these ih to get that vapor without being very attentive, because you can burn for a few more seconds.
IH wdlx - full bowl + ABV
With this I want to add that an ih like the ones designed a long time ago by Tommy Dee, with a pocket watch similar design and very aggressive warm-up can be perfect for this vape, since it could be used as a lighter without problem and in a quick way.

The used lighter has been a Jobon single flame with a large gas capacity. This one can give you enough warm to finish a compartment full of the stash (and I think more).
The single flame option may be the slowest among the lighters, but well used is the best way to get an even ABV with a full chamber of herb. And it is the easiest one.
My method of use is to start with the flame nearby and move it away when you notice vapor production. When you notice the vapor you can close the flame to the vape again to make a “final punch”. Using it with hash I need to keep the flame closer, take longer to move it away and move it away less.

-Main use: herb (half chamber), hash, extractions.
-Secondary use: herb (full chamber)
The lighter is the one from Hippie Pipe. The bad thing about this lighter compared to the other two presented in this review is its gas capacity. However, it is an average capacity for that size and type of lighters (it has a capacity similar to that of a double-flame zippo insert).
While the Single flame is the easiest option, the dual flame can be the most versatile by having a balance between heating time and extraction. I think it's easier to use it by filling half of the bowl with herb and it works great with hash. First I approach the flame quite a lot and then I move it away little by little to reduce the speed at which the temperature rises, which gives me more control, since if I keep it close it can be easy to burn.

The used lighter is an Honest triple flame with a big tank and spark by stone.
The triple flame is the most difficult to use with herb due to its aggressiveness. I do not recommend using a full chamber since it is very likely that you will only vaporize the lower part of the bowl. However, you can vaporize halfbowl with triple flame, with the condition of driving the flame away a lot. This time the technique is to keep the flame away ALL THE TIME, since you can get to combustion very, very quickly.
It can be your ally in case you want to use Pipe X for hash and concentrates, since its aggressiveness makes it possible to vaporize hash in a fairly fast way (in the same way with concentrates, but remember to keep it horizontal!).
With hash it is not necessary to keep too far the flame and you can approach it intermittently in case you want a good hash punch and some milky clouds.

The X pipe is a fun device, and easy to use when you understand a little how it works. I don't think it's a vape to make one hit, but to make hits in a semi-continued way, that is, it's not a session vape, but if you want to get all its potential you shouldn't wait a minute for each heat-up. It reminds me the joints that turn off every moment and you need to light them again.
The taste seems good to me (it doesn't reach the level of a Dani but it reminds me of the taste of a dynavap) and it works with the full chamber and less than half.
I use normal CBD in the videos (including the hash). This cbd doesn’t give a super vapor production, but i think it is a good way to know if a vape have a good extraction since it is harder to do it with cbd than with thc

Im surprised, this hits harder than expected, specially with extracts (even hard rocks). This is my new favorite ‘banger’ for using outside

I have found some problems, the stash has a good design but the cap fits very rough. I did some marks and scratches the first days. The bottom screen is difficult to place and sit in the oven and you have to clean all the system very often, specially with hash
It has some metal taste and with dry herb the flavor is worse than a vapcap, but the clouds are bigger and you feel a very good control when heating distancing the light with practice
Another problem is the included lighter in the premium pack (pipe + stash + lighter). It has very good quality, better than classic aliexpress torches, but a very small tank. You only have 4/5 sessions and you always need to have some additional lighter so I would prefer a classic stash or even better something bigger with a bigger torch
This machine eats everything, dry herbs, rosin, moonrocks, BHO, whatever you put in the chamber will be beheaded in less than 10s. Works fine also with induction heating, copper heads and all the dynavap stuff
And in plus you have also a good ‘pipe’, if you want to combust your material without touching the herb with any torch or fire, it works better than any pipe I tried before

I see that you're not supposed to heat at the X with butane. Is there a reason the IH can heat that area but not the lighter?

Hi, so sorry about that, I misunderstood. I thought you meant the Pipe X. lol If you meant the "X" print, there's no "Not allowed to heat the X", we just recommend heating the cutout X for best results and faster heating. Please keep in mind that the Pipe X is designed with the flexibility to create the experience that you want, so you can definitely use it whatever and however fits your needs.
Hope that clarifies and please let me know if you have any other question.

Hi, I bought one of these Hippie X and I have to say it's an impressive little&simple device, I agree it's pretty flexible, the recommaded heating technik is the best for fast hit but you can heat the whole thing for more heat retention and no issues at all using it with an Induction heater (I tried with the Wand, the Katalyzer Clic&Vape and the LotoLabs Legend)!
Although, if you are looking for taste, I recommand to use the recommanded tecnic you can see in the user guide (pointing torch onto the "X" cut (not the black "X") refraining yourself to heat-up for more than recommended (3s for initial cycle but only 1-2s for reheats) and load small.
Load size, if small enough, will help you to get a torough extraction! By loading only half of the chamber, loose, this is allows to stir only by shaking the HipX! If you are loading too much and don't stir at all you'll end with a blackened bottom by using the recommanded heating tek. So that tek is better for small/micro dosing. You can refine it by heating up only the top of the chamber (the black X) in order to get a less heavy conduction since the herbs sits on the bottom.
But you can load it full and packed using an IH to heat it... or using the torch but heating up the whole chamber spinning the X àla VapCap!
As well, it's usable like a Sticky Brick by using a single flame torch, device upright in a bubbler, half load (try to tamp it down by tapping the Hippie mouthpiece on a table (device upright too)... to be honnest it's a bit hazardous (especially if you loaded flowers) and you need to play with distance between the torch's flame and the X in order to avoid combustion. It's far to be my favourite tek but it's nice to see how flexible is this device.
Hippie X is a very fuel economical butane based device, with such short heat-ups a 400ml can will last many months I believe.
It's nice to see a decent priced butane vaporizer too, I don't want to name anybody but a few manufacturers are too much hungry and except a few vapor fans or medical users, the usuals customers looking for a good first vaping experience will not spend more than 100$/€ , thank you for this vape, @thehippie , please, try to push in order the Hippie X reaches the Old continent's retailers, a famous other manufacturer seems to be alone in that niche market in Europe... and your device works very well with Hasch... and we love Traditionnals Haschs, here, in Europe!
