You are leaving it on all day and night at 12 Volts!!!!! ??????

Do you not? At 12.5-13 volts I can still cover the top of my bamboo unit comfortably. I've been pointing my thermometer at it; not really recording anything but just getting the sense of heat dispersion and such and i just don't see any potential fire risk. Short of packing the innards with tissue paper (which i've done, out of curiousity) and cranking it up to 20 volts.

I understand that but that's not a standby voltage setting in my opinion. Maybe between using it I would leave it at 12+. I wouldn't leave the house with it sitting on 12+ volts. Not to mention i want my core to last as long as possible. Murphy's law buddy. They warm up so fast it doesn't make sense to leave it on full blast all day.
If you have a glass core, it's cooler than stainless steel.

Used lemongrass oil and have it at 10 no need for it to be full blast all day?

Also add if you're using aromatherapy cup, the heat is transferring. If you just leave it sitting there.....unit/core is just heat soaking at full blast.

@RUDE BOY, that's why you can leave on "standby" at 4-6 and it will still be warm. My point was 12V is not a 'standby' setting.(IMO)
Never said to turn it off?

I'm sure this is all user preference.

Space is the Place
I often leave mine plugged into the wall wart for days at a time using the aromatherapy cup with a little wax and some lemongrass oil.

Edit; some would say it's better and they'll last longer if you leave it on and up to temp rather then the stress of heating and cooling, heating and cooling. At least I remember those conversations in log vape threadswhen they all used resisters as the heat supply.

I could be wrong and bet @Alan would be the one give the definitive answer.

I was doing this too. I think what slow draw is implying is that keeping it running 24/7 like this will burn the vape out over time.

Edit: and @RUDE BOY I was also using it with the aroma cup for extended periods but became worried the cup prevents the necessary venting of heat up top so I leave the wax/oil to my SSV now.

This reminds me immensely of the vapman station even downw to the 3 screw mounts in a Y configuration. I was just looking down mine. Now I want one of these!

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
I broke my glass gong/stems for my hibrid HI, so I tried what i have at home, those being nano gongs.
They are narrower than HI's originals, due to this I was reluctant to even try them.

Than I had an epiphany, they create a fonctional seal with HIbryd core allowing to boost performances, i crancked down voltage from 12,7 to 12,3 because it was too hot suddenly. Less even vaporisation, easier to char a little the top but what a clouds

My preference is ED's wong since this is a little larger allowing for even better seal.

I am just curious, where can you purchase the HI? I went to the website and it shows pricing but no way to order. It looks like the website hasn't been updated in like 3 years. I just heard about this log vape and checked it out on another forum site. That site was really bashing the Epicvape company, and then the thread suddenly dies out in 2014. Did the Heat Island company of out of business?

Thanks @btka I appreciate it. That is a hell of a long time. Is the HI really that much better over the e-nano? I have a nano already, but I was looking into another log vape for one of my friends, and I was thinking he wants one different from mine for comparison.

I have a nano and a friend has both a hibrid and glass core nano. All I can tell you is if you want a SS core log vape.... skip the line, skip the voltage box and get a nano. In my personal opinion I didnt really find any differences in the two SS models though.

The HIBRID core however is a WHOLE different game. They should not even be compared.

If you want huge fat instant hits the HIBRID is not for you.

Stainless steel cores = chuggin a beer
HIBRID core = sipping a glass of wine

Thanks for the info @DrNick420, I appreciate your knowledge on this. I understand your analogy, similar to a Pax 2 vs the Firefly 2 (I have both). However even though the nano has a SS core, and hits like a champ, the flavor is still phenomenal. What are the benefits of the HIBRID core? I am assuming based on your analogy that the flavor is great, but I am not sure how much better over the nano?

Also I have read and seen on the HI website mention of "roasting tubes". Is that the same as the glass stem for the nano (same use), or does it have a different or additional application? Thank you for your time, I am just trying to get a better understanding of the HI. I might be interested in getting on the wait list if the experience is much better or even different than the nano, but in a positive way. :)

@DarkSm0ke asking questions about the Nano in this thread, derails the thread and isn't fair to the manufacturer. Please keep any HI related questions in the HI thread and Nano specific questions in the Nano thread. If you want to ask comparison questions, make a thread in Ask FC.

WOW, okay. This is not a very friendly thread. I just wanted to know what the benefit of the HIBRID heating system was, and if the "roasting tubes" were just glass stems, or if they served an additional purpose. If that is too radical for this thread I apologize and go somewhere else.

Comparisons are best done in a specific thread for that comparison is all, so not to derail the topic. Focus on HI is fine though

Roasting tubes, there are an insane number of them, varying styles, some only for steel core some for both, the HIbrid glass is unique, tastier, slower extraction with less retained heat than a steel core. There have been many comparisons of the two styles here if you search (likewise roasting tubes) or you can just read the last several pages for a lot of recent discussions about them

That should help to answer most of your questions do you can decide. It's worth emailing Alan I get on the wait list regardless, worth the wait my HIbrid is incredibly unique, true connoisseur piece. You can also buy bamboo or maybe old models from him sooner

Thank you @Shit Snacks, I really appreciate your response. That information will help me out. I didn't realize the HI had so many options. This is good, you can get exactly what you want.

I will take your advice and contact Alan.

Thanks again for all of your help.

I believe the members on this thread have been VERY friendly, generous, and informative, despite the inappropriately placed questions which belonged elsewhere on their own thread so as not to trespass on this vendor's hard-fought and won territory. This is HI's house! It's simple - keep one man's business out of another man's business, and as a guest here, don't pit one against the other under the host's own roof - common decency and fair business ethics 101. Again - This is HI's house! Not so hard to understand, I would hope. The HI is a high performance object d' art in it's own right. I have log vapes from all the different manufacturer's, fantastic all in their own right. Study each thread and plunk yer money down on any one of them, one none less admirable than the other.

Sorry to offend you or any others here. I just had a couple of questions. I guess that was a major faux pas for some people. When I go into a thread that is for a specific brand or type of vape I just assumed that it was a starting point for people to share and trade information. Part of that is to provide comparative analysis of said items. I guess I should according to you @Snappo, treat each of the manufacturing threads as a place that is owned by said manufacturer, instead of a place where similar minded people meet to discuss a common interest. That's cool. I am not here to cause dissention, I just wanted some information, as I am thinking of getting a HI (or at least getting on the list).

As far as stating this was not a "friendly thread", well that is a bit harsh on my part. I over reacted a bit because a mod made a comment that I shouldn't ask what the HIbrid heating system is in comparison to the e-nano. I wasn't asking which was better but rather why it was different, since the person I was asking said that the HIbrid was like "sipping fine wine" to paraphrase. I was just excited thinking that the taste surpassed anything that I have yet tried. I am always looking for the best taste I can get from my herbs. People here are friendly and helpful. What struck me was that the mod said that I wasn't "fair to the manufacturer to ask any questions that related to the nano here". Fine, that is cool. Other threads here aren't as strict regarding content sharing of two different or more vapes. I don't feel as you say the question was inappropriate or that I pitted one man against another. I think you are just being a bit dramatic. I thank everyone that has helped me here, and I would just like to close this topic. No need to further discuss this IMO. Thank you for your time.

To clarify a little, FC is full of like-minded people discussing our common interest. We do, however try to keep direct comparisons to a minimum, especially when both manufacturers are FC members. There are several reasons for that that I won't get into, but just know that that is our policy and we ask that you adhere to it. (That's a lot of thats!)

Thank you for understanding.
