Probably because this thread is the hotness EYeFonez. People are getting HI up in here! His royal HI-ness is sharing / spreading his sermon to all of us, his faithful followers. However, lately I have such a hard time coming to this thread, I'm fragile lately & it hurts my soul to not be able to join those HI already. This thread of course reminds me.
Oh well. Patience. Hope everyone had a great 420, I wish I could have sported an HI for the holiday, but there is always next year.

-Alan- I don't need to contact you about what size / type tubes I will want, do I? Haven't heard from ya & know your workload is gigantic(understatement), so if anyone else knows, please chime in. I just don't know whether I need to tell him ahead of time what tubes are my preference(I per-ordered about a month ago?) or if I inform him when once contacted that my unit is ready to be purchased. Don't want to miss out on opportunity for some of your (Alan) great tubes that you have come up with so far! Fantastic work. Thanks Alan & friends.

How did you make your nipple boobs? Does Alan make the nipple?

It's 2 of Alan's glass tips with a screen in between and held together with some of Alan's tubing. Then I put everything in a 18 to 14 reducer. Works well, after the bowl is cashed I just flip the tip over and make a new bowl.

biojuggernaut - The nipples are made from sections of the 10mm glass tubes. If you flame polish the glass for too long, the end will start to close up. This gives a nice curve at the end to mate with the end of any log style vaporizer center tube. The seal is almost perfect when the alignment is perfect. Changing the angle slightly will introduce some cooler room air and you can control the roasting temperature.

I use an identical fitting to that for my thread-on tips. Silicone stretched over 1/4" stainless tubing fits in the glass perfectly. The problem with using it for an all glass turbo tube is that I must bore a 10mm hole into it. The wall thickness is only 1.5mm after boring the hole. The glass really should be 14mm at a minimum.
The 14mm tubing I am using has an ID of 9.6mm so it is very easy to bore in with a 10mm drill. The 13mm tubing is very easy to break if you push the drill too hard. Another option is to spend a few hundred dollars and get actual grinding heads.

Thanks for thinking of tube options. You never know what might work.

I thought of the glass nipple while cleaning a 10mm glass from a silicone turbo tube. I like to take the dirty tube all by itself and draw hot air from the HI. It makes the glass and oil very warm. The skewer harvesting tool works very well for cleaning off most of the debris and oil. I draw air through both ends of the glass tube and do half at a time. The mouth end of the tube is rounded and is basically a long glass nipple. I just cut some short glass pieces and sent them to bOObs. Now we have bOObs glass nipples.

Would really love to find a way to do a one piece glass 18mm gong turbo tube. I guess there is always an adapter.

I contacted Alan a while back back looking to see if a metal bowl for the Hi stem was going to come about.I broke my glass stem shortly after i recieved my Hi and was looking for a more durable replacement.A few weeks ago I got a mail from Alan letting me know that he had put together a new SS stem tip that he thought I might want to try.

so here goes, Ill try and stayon topic

I received the S steel bloodwood stem from Alan on wednesday in the mail plus an extra bowl to play with.I ve had a look at it and I am very impressed.Alan you are Obi Wan JedHi Master no doubteverything turns to gold.(Nice one vapinghole) Continue to show us the ways of the Force

The stem is Alans usual constant perfection.The wooden stem is thinner than the usual wooden stem that Alan ships with the Hi.it is also a little shorter.but the new SS bwl will slip straight onto the original wood stem in place of the glass bowl.

The bowl on the stem is a very light gauge Stainless and slides over the Hi heat port just like the all glass turbo tube.thats the stem with the 14mm gong connection on it.the load size of the stainless bowl is the same as the glass turbo stem bowl too.the bowl depth is 1/2 inch approx and with the trick below almost an inch deep.Its very light also in youre hand and cools down quickly once you ve finished youre session and want to place it somewhere safe till next time.It will no doubt take abuse.dropping it from a height or walking on it will have no effect on it.Its a tonka!



In the below pic is my ecig, a trex 510 with a tank mod which needs filling, below that is the new bloodwood stem.you can see it readily takes the smaller SS crz style bowl if you like using that one,below that is the original stem ive adapted with a second SS bowl and added a nipple and below that the stem that Eds Tnt which is a stem Ed made for the solo but works very well on the hi.thanks Ed

So the trick I found out today while i was playing about and taking hits with the new stem.a nipple bowl will slide into it perfectly and stays there nice and firm,its an interference fit.Coincidence or not .you ve nailed it this time Alan.This stem is interchangeable with the nipple as well as the crz style bowl insert.Its tough is a beauty and a perfformer too just like all youre other stems.you should be smiling Alan.its a cracker of a stem.I m blown away again.the stainless steel bowl with the nipple is a dream combo.No silicone at all in the airpath, only wood glass and stainless.the glass nipple stem is the stem I keep coming back to..once you get the learning curve down.its a real winner.To fill it.I just suck material in and blow it out after ive finished the bowl..simple as.the curved end on the nipple bowl also helps to stop material dropping out by accident.

When Inserting the nipple into the stainless bowl you need to be a bit gentle. the glass nipples are very thin borosilicate glass and will crack if you force things.it should slide in with gentle push and the nipple will stay there forever or until you break it by dropping it .

If you break a nipple by dropping the stem you can make a new one or get Alan to post you some more,If you re handy with a drill.you can make nipples yourself and that brings a bit of DIY fun into your e vape experience.Thats what I ve been doing, making my own nipples.

I get the impression from contacting Alan and listening to him that he wants us to play around with new ideas for his Hi creation to make it the best out there. and that includes making our own stems, crazy milking from boobsmeister, lungs and all the other thoughtful stuff people have put together here on the thread.that allows for a lot of freedom in the hi family and makes it a pleasure to drop by here to catch up.thanks guys and not forgetting Mom of course


Lastlywanted to show some peeps how the nipple meets the heatport.You can see i ve got the stem at an angle to show how it sits against the heat port and not down over it.The nipple method allows quicker and easy remove/connect to the heat port of the Hi.you can hold the stem at an angle similar to the spherical set up on the SSV.
You can get really hot vapor from the Hi sometimes, Too hot on occasion so its nice to be able to cool it quickly by lifting the nipple slightly off the heatport and pulling in a nice draught of cool air.good for those high temp milky hits if you want to medicate quickly while on a tight schedule.

I think you're right u bwade. That's one of the things that is so special about Alan. He loves feedback and if anything, it just spurs him on to think of new methods and new equipment.

u bwade wunner - Thanks so much for the photos. They look great. The last one shows really well how the glass nipple connects to the HI center tube. I really love the innovative ways you all are discovering for using the roasting tubes. It is very cool how all the tubes can interact and interchange with each other. The ability to find the tube combination that is just right for you. Is that a home made 2-piece roasting tube on the right side of the second photo?

He wanted me to send him a steel bowl to replace the glass bowl. I didn't have his wooden tube to use to get a perfect fit, so I had to create another wood tube to check the fit. The size of the wood tube was based on a glass tip like the one that broke. Luckily it all worked out. I didn't even get a chance to try the new steel tube before I sent it out because I didn't want to get it dirty.
I had not thought about the glass nipple in the end. That is definitely a bonus. One more thing the stainless slide tip fits into.

thanks Mom.Im very pleased I found the Hi.It does everything I need and more.I would like to buy a few more and I will call off the search!the Hi is a class act all round.the stem combinations seal the deal.I had been watching the TT thread with keen interest and really enjoyed Vitos TT vids.As soon as the hi arrived I was sold.never looked back.

I know my HI will benefit from all the interesting twists you guys come up with.

Alan Is that tube off the shelf or are you turning it on the lathe?.if its stock tube it will make your e life a lot easier.Its damn near perfect.its everything it should be.I especially like the new SS bowl with the older longer wood stem.there is a ridge where the ssteel sits against the wood.The ridge I think adds a bit of class to the overall look of the stem.

No its a dropper i use for oils.it sucks up 5 ml at a time and stops me pouring essential oil all over my Hi from the bottle.
