The HI

Almost there...
This is my short and sweet review of my new Satinwood HI!
Usually i test drive and report back the same day, not this time though.
I decided to try and get to know my HI before posting any thoughts.

Thoughts so far... THIS THING ROCKS!!!
DC is where it's at!

@Alan shipped it very well and i was so surprised to find it nestled in a very low profile box!
I thought it was parts for some other project of mine!
It came with a lot of goodies! Most of which i must admit do not know how to use them!
More reading to do!

I think i have been using the Turbo Tube, looks like a WonG with 2 glass tubes and screens.
Works very well and connects to my 19mm glass perfectly!
I have also just been using the smaller glass tube and screen for superior flavour hits!
The beveled end fits perfectly in the SS heat tube!!
Warning, it does get pretty warm!

I am using it at 12.5V and am amazed at what just 0,5V change does!
It milks any of my glass with ease!

Get yourself on the list and wait it out!!!
It really is worth it!

Well...I am up next on the list! I have a few questions for you experts.

Before I ask my questions please know right now I use a Life Saber Vaporizer combined with a 60mm stemmed mobius stero matrix.

First,
Good idea - this one is on it's way to The Island as well...
nmPMr92.jpg

What type of wood is that???

Second, any particular woods that are beloved. Alan gave me a list of some 40+ pieces of wood!? Awesome but a bit overwhelmed.

Third, someone mentioned a VVPS, is that just a different vaporizer?

Fourth, any other options or anything I should be on the look out for?

Help out a pal with some info, a bit overwhelmed at the moment with work and my excitement for THIS to finally come to pass!

That's an awesome feeling I bet, can't wait for my turn...

I believe that's Afzelia aquired from our resident wood expert. @Snappo check out his thread Exotic Wood Blanks.
I'm being lazy.

VVPS Is a variable voltage unit alows u to control voltage (temp)

Imo,get a variety of stem & Wong's

Enjoy the path of becoming a Jed-HI..

Congratulations!
VVPS = variable voltage power supply, which is a necessity for controlling temps with the HI, IMO. I got mine from The Voltage Keeper, and I've been quite happy with it. My favorite HI WPA is the cork on glass (18mm). The cork slides off the glass tube so you can change the screens easily.

OK, so a VVPS is something I buy later and the HI will plug into before plugging into my outlet?

Ahh, ok, so that friggin amazing looking piece of wood is not available to me, :(.

Yes, Alan mentioned the cork on glass 18mm, which is what I will need since my Mobius is a 18mm female.

Yes, I will get a variety of attachments ;).

Thanks all!

Still could use some opinions on wood choice? I will take a perusal of a bunch of pages here and see if anything strikes my fancy.

Burls seem to be popular. Satinwoods are sweet too. Really the best thing to do is to look up (Google) the species available and when one tickles your pickle, get it! That's my method at least. I know it's a little overwhelming but you've come this far, make sure you get one that really appeals to you. Just my :2c::peace:
