@exit I have not much problem with your message. But after all, it is good since it will help people to really measure what they want : Glass-core (aka Hibrid) or SS. I try to feel how difficult it has been for you not being able to give some love. I was going to ask your right away where is that poor HI and I'm happy to see he found some love.
I personally have follow Alan offer to wait for a VK to be in his hands since I'm situated oversea. They both work flawlessly.
I totally assume all my writing of love about my glass core Sting ! I do have a WW log with a regular SS core for comparison but I'm not using it anymore (yet) since I still need new glass stem. I'm going to talk about my WW shortly and then about the glass core :
-I found the SS-core log to be extremely efficient with tiny loads and give a fast extraction ! I could push the load really dark and really easily, so much that sometime a short few seconds hit could make me cough and I'm not the most sensible with vapor harshness. It is definitely perfect to use with water and for a tiny load : 3 huge and short hits.
-I have choose the glass core with not much infos but knew it was taste-wise and sipping-style, in that sense Alan has been really nice to make me wonder if I'm really after that or not. At the start I have to admit I realized the performance are totally different than SS style and was wondering still.. but I got excited with the challenge and rapidly enjoyed it ...
I wouldn't advise a glass core for water filtration since it doesn't deliver vapor the same way and you get such vape for the taste. I wouldn't advise a glass-core for people who have difficulties with vaporizer which need a slow draw.
I'm using my WineCorkTube (I'm soon getting new adapter and tube from Alan and will report about it) not like intended : I use only the down half so I can get closer to the load manually. I have a dot marked on the cork so I know approximately where to hold the limit.
My load is slightly bigger (1.5 or 2 times) bigger than with a SS core. I first get 1 or 2 super long sipping hits : those are super tasty and sometime wispy. Then : light grind material, slightly push it with a toothpick and I draw quite long and slow on the following hits. But those are going to be huge, tasty and still so smooth on the throat. Only then I get that "toasty" taste with a light brown so even abv ! It is nearly impossible to get combustion since the heat is much more smooth so it's much more easy to avoid harsh vapor but you need good lungs to take those long hits. Like JJ420 is saying : the vapor tint is different. I personally love the fact I can sip and read a few lines or watch something without taking care of itchy throat because I'm too gluttonous. Also it gives me the effect I'm mostly looking for. I realized I don't always enjoy when I kill a load dark brownish and a regular SS does this easily. I may use a bit more material with glass-core but I simply enjoy the taste and effect it gives out... ABV is never lost !
Edit : Also I don't think a glass core is the best for concentrate which need a huger heat. Considering the material I sometime dial the VK a bit higher but I really never need to go till 13v. I'm often between 12.22 and 12.69
.
Like you said, some vapes are not for everybody and at least people can see this thread is being honest and realist with almost no unsatisfied customer.
